Publix on DI sure is a quaint little place. I say this respectfully as I have come to accept grocery stores with pharmacies, starbucks, restaurants, gift shops, dry cleaners, lottery, stamps, florists, nail saloons… oh no, not here on DI. This place still has service, like someone loads your groceries in your car and bags all of your groceries, and makes eye contact with you. So if you want above average service stop over here and check this small place out. It is no mega grocery store, but I think I kinda like it that way. Now where the heck is the closest Starbucks!?!

Just a head’s up about the bakery. Tried to order cake & it was a total waste of time. They have strict policies about color changes and word changes. Couldn’t even get a simple«happy birthday» cake with no characters. Because of licensing agreements, apparently drawing a candle on a cake is copyrighted. Was going to let it slide that they totally forgot my balloon order last time I was there. Friend said she ordered a cake and went to pick it up and they lost the order. Seems their customer service is slipping.

This location is conveniently located on the main drag tucked behind the shops. They have plenty of parking but it is a slim lot so be prepared to park a little further away. It is a small store so although they prob have what you need there is not a lot of selection nor variety of brands. There is a beer and wine area in the front corner. The bakery and deli is nice and even serves sandwiches made to order.

Update: I now have the seafood lady on the crap list. No customers and she was super annoyed to count(not slice or any work) half pound of shrimp. I mean come on publix I get having to hire people and keep them on but these people are AWFUL!!! They hate their jobs so much they can’t even crack a smile or say can I help you. On another update there is a guy behind the fried food area whom loves people. He recognizes us when we come in and goes the extra mile to say hi even if we aren’t getting food from him. Max in bakery is phenomenal and a great worker. Produce: getting better. The workers here are pristine and ALWAYS say hi and ask if they an help. I still get the super soggy strawberries and grapes and some fruit isn’t readily available but it’s been better then usual… And at least they’ve stocked almond milk more frequently(usually empty– the entire section). I’m really hoping they will bring in coconut coffee creamers, coconut milk yogurts and freeze dried fruits that don’t have added sugars. The gluten free area is starting to build which is great. It’s nice to have the healthy option with the bad. If publix would replace their seafood and deli people this store would definitely earn 4 stars– only losing one to spoiled produce

The staff at Publix on Daniel Island is always very nice and willing to help. The store is always clean and well stocked. It is smaller than most other grocery stores, which is understandable for this location, but during the busy hours, it gets very crowded. Just avoid Monday-Fridays between 5−7pm and the crowds die down. One other problem is Publix’s fried chicken. It’s more addictive than cigarettes. I’ve been able to give up smoking but not Publix’s chicken. They are solely responsible for at least 8 – 10 lbs when I step on the scale.

The staff here is always friendly and helpful, and the selection of product is good. They also do BOGOs on many products each week. Another thing I like is that their produce always looks great and is fresh. They also do sampling sometimes which is a great way to find new things you might like. Less one star because they can be a bit more expensive than other grocery stores, so clip those coupons before you do a big grocery trip here.

I think it is about time for Daniel Island to build a bigger Publix. This Publix is pretty small compared to other locations in the neighboring areas; but that doesn’t mean they aren’t doing the business, this store is usually packed out when I’ve visited. A lot of people hit up this Publix during the lunch hour for a sub or some sushi; the line for the sub station in the deli can get pretty long, but they do make a damn good sandwich. The employees here are friendly and help; always happy to help you find something you need. Because of it’s size they don’t always have everything you need, but it does serve it’s purpose on the small but growing fast Daniel Island.

Publix on Daniel Island is a bit small but convenient for folks who live on DI. It may be a bit expensive but there are usually 2 for 1 sales that I always keep my eye out for when I stop in. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Publix, you usually have awesome service! Your managers and bakery staff, especially, are dolls. But yesterday, my cashier and bagger were both rude and ignored me… I had to say«hello» to them first and they barely responded. Then another bagger came up and started talking about his car problem and all three just turned their backs on me. Normally I get asked the question, «do you need help out?» and I always respond«no thank you» but this time I didn’t even get the question. You have certain staff that I love, love, love! But the others, not so much! And it’s not just the 3 boys yesterday, you also have an older lady who is always pretty surly. I never try to get her as my cashier if I can help it. :-(

I miss this store. It’s so small, so local, so wonderful. It’s like your own little personal grocery store living on the island but everything is first class and fresh. This place had the best homemade ready to bake meatballs too when I lived there. I once asked them for the recipe and they actually said it was against store policy to give it away! They are that good.

Good Organic foods and wine selection. This Publix, like a lot of others, is pretty basic but it has a very friendly staff and a good selection for organic foods. It’s not Whole Foods or Earth Fare and you won’t leave half your paycheck behind after you visit either. It’s right off the 526 so easy to stop in if you’re on your way home and your usual spot is crowded.
