As I predicted a year ago. they are going out of business because their customer service sucked. I dropped off my skiis to be tuned and new boots adjusted to the bindings. They said it would take a couple days. I said OK could you call me when ready, they said yes and took my cell #. After about a week I stopped in to see if they were ready. There were 3 j-offs standing around. 1 was drumming on a bench, one was texting and no idea what the other kid was doing. I asked if my skiis were ready and 1 of them slowly walked out back and came out with them. I said«I thought you were going to all me when they were ready», J-off # 2 said«we don’t have time to call everyone, it would take too much time» I looked around slowly at all 3 of them and just laughed… and said«really, OK Thanks» Sent an email to their offices and told them they would be out of business in a year if they didn’t get rid of the slackers in the Danvers store. Oh well… bye, bye.

I called ahead with two pretty specific needs(adjust DIN on a pair of ski bindings and purchase new screws/washers to attach snowboard bindings). They told me they could help me with both so I drove over with my skis/boots and info about snowboard bindings. When I got there I waited for a couple minutes before anyone acknowledged me, and I was passed from associate to associate before finally a nice girl asked me to fill out a form for the binding adjustment(10 – 15 mins later). They wanted $ 30 plus a $ 10 expedited service fee to adjust the DIN(requires turning 4 screws to a certain degree for safety). I was given the impression that I was an inconvenience for not being able to leave my skis over night, even though I called prior to make sure it was okay. I decided not to pay $ 40 for turning 4 screws.(I had it done at another shop in NH for $ 5, no prior notice, and a nice employee at that store explain to me the process and how easy it is if someone of a different ability ever wanted to use my skis and here is how you do it.) I said okay forget about the skis can I get some hardware for my snowboard from this place. Upon checking a second time, they did not have the hardware for my snowboard. Expensive, poor customer service, and had 0 out of 2 things I needed. Bring your business elsewhere.

This is an update on my earlier review for East Coast Alpine. After they refused to return any of my phone calls or work with me further, at the advice of a friend, I went to see a specific person at a ski shop in Salem NH(I won’t name it because I don’t want anyone to think I’m a shill, but there are 2 major shops in Salem NH so it’s one of them). I brought my old boots, and the boot fitter at the Salem shop told me that the previous store had put in boots that were too small, and no amount of re-jigging them would solve the problem. Why this didn’t occur to me earlier is beyond my understanding. He did say that East Coast Alpine put me into the right manufacturer’s boots for my feet, but I was one size too small. I ended up purchasing replacement boots from this ski shop, and my problems were solved. Just to repeated, EASTCOASTALPINEARENOTHONORABLEMERCHANTS. DONOTPURCHASEANYTHINGFROMTHEM. Here is my earlier review: I had a very bad experience with East Coast Alpine and suggest that you look for a different ski shop. I purchased a pair of ski boots with the explicit assurance of the owner, John, that they would guarantee the fit, and if it didn’t work out, they would work with me as necessary to get it right. My experience was just the opposite. Sandro fit me initially for the boots, and from day one, they were never right. East Coast Alpine did work with me – to a point, and with many changes that cost me additional money, but in the end, they stopped returning my phone calls(I left 3 messages for Sandro and 2 for John and none were returned) and simply said, we can’t help you. It’s clear, in retrospect, that they sold me the wrong pair of boots, and that no amount of changes would fix the problems I had. This was a loss that has cost me over $ 500. Please do yourself a favor, and find another place to get ski equipment from.
