Wonderful restaraunt ran by a sweet family. Whenever my husband and I go to eat we always order off of their Vietnamese menu. I have NEVER been dissapointed with the food there. The phở is amazing and dare I say cured my cold? Haha! Friendly service and a cozy, lived in atmosphere. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve eatten there and now I’ve gone and made myself hungry. 5 stars every time!

Nice service, but medium quality food. It is not as spicy as I would have hope, but it all has a very good texture. Also they were very good about helping me find vegan food.

I and a friend were visiting her grandpa and were getting late but also hungry. So stopped by at MJ to get some food. There were a quite a few vegetarian options out of which we tried vegetables tofu and spring rolls. The food was really good. And yes, 92 years old grandpa liked it too, not to mention I got to see his grandpa’s gratitude and appreciation for the food! The service was super fast and the couple who own the place were very friendly and nice. Happiness is when you stop at a new place and get unexpectedly good food which makes a great dinner.

Wow worst food ever. We ordered 2 meals and both we horrible. I can not belive they are in business. First time I ever called a take out place back and told them I would return my food for a refund and I was told if I don’t like the food eat somewhere else. Good advice.

They got some pretty awesome phở for a reasonable price $ 8-$ 9. I think it’s better than the phos that I’ve tried in St. Louis! And their fortune cookies are good, too! The service was also fast and amiable.

General chicken and chicken egg rolls were good, only problem I had was with delivery, the delivery guy didn’t have gps and had to call and ask me directions less than 2 miles away

I miss this place. I’ve been out of Davenport for 10 years, living in Iowa City, Milwaukee and Atlanta — nothing compares! It’s just really good, cheap Chinese American food. The Sizzling Rice Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, egg rolls and thai noodle dishes are my favorite. But I’m never disappointed in what I get.

I was in the mood for cabbage broccoli and chicken. They accommodated me and it tasted great!

Disgusting! Ordered Generls chicken and Mongolian beef asked for extra hot. They sprinkled red pepper flakes for the extra hot, could have done that at home! Rice tasted like burnt rubber and chicken very chewy. Never again will we order from them. Wish there was a negative star! But have to give at least one to post! Gross!

Came here a few years ago and had a decent bowl of phở. Happened to stop in a few weeks ago for some spring rolls and a pork and noodle salad. Both were horrible. The rolls were loosely rolled with almost nothing in them. The salad came with twice cooked pork that was tough, dry and tasteless. On the bright side the service was good and the folks very nice.

The only place I go for Phở. Since I left Seattle, this is my new favorite place for Phở. They will prepare it anyway you like and its always great. My friends usually venture for their other dishes which always get great compliments. Very gratious family that run this place and have the best service I have experienced in this area. My only recommendation for improvement would be the facility atmosphere. If it received an overhaul, Im sure they would do 100x better. The food and service is unbeatable. I have read some of the«terrible» reviews and I really cant vouch for any of the claims as I have had Phở and chinese everywhere in the US except the east coast. MJ’s is one of the best.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a Philadelphia Roll and sizzling rice soup delivered for lunch. The Philadelphia Roll had no avocado on it– which is one of the 3 main ingredients! Plus they sent ginger and wasabi with it, but no soy sauce. The rice for my sizzling rice soup was burnt. The soup itself was basically chicken broth– next to no veggies and certainly no meat, as is typically found in sizzling rice soup. Altogether awful! I will NEVER order from here again!

ive only had the vietnamese selections not the chinese, but this is another one of the very few vietnamese restaurants in the qca, the dinner soups are great, big portions on everything, just go here & skip mcdonalds for once. this place is probably close to being as inexpensive but about a thousand times better.

Not bad for chinese food. It wasn’t as spicy as I wanted. My mother loved her meal too. So I would go back if I go back towards the Quad Cities.

Delicious! Definitely won’t be ordering from anywhere else anymore — best Chinese food I’ve had in the area. They do deliver and there was no delivery fee, the beef was great quality and there was tons of good flavor.

We drove up from St. Louis today, and found MJ after a quick online search. We were both craving Vietnamese, so that’s what we ordered. My egg rolls were NOT the type I’ve had at 20 or more different Vietnamese places in St. Louis. First they did not have pork or jicama, they were very skinny and they did not come with a plate of lettuce and cilantro, and I had to ask for the dipping(fish) sauce. My barbecue pork was nothing more than slices of a small pork loin that didn’t have much seasoning atop a bed of very good vermicelli noodles with sprouts and lettuce on the side, and the dish did come with a bowl of fish sauce. The flavor was OK. My companion had a seafood Phở which he said was very good. It came with been sprouts, lemon grass, and two lime wedges. The family running the business couldn’t have been friendlier. Two of the children acted as hostess and waiter. They and their mother came out several times to make sure our drinks were filled and inquire about our food. When we went to pay, we mentioned that they forgot to add our tea to the check, and they informed us that there was no charge for tea. This may be the best Vietnamese in the Quad Cities, but it’s a far cry from the nice places in the U-City and South Grand areas of St. Louis. Maybe they are trying to do too much by offering Chinese, Vietnamese and Sushi all in the same place.

After reading the reviews I was expecting food that was much better than I received. My advice is to avoid ordering Chinese food — it was very disappointing. My wife ordered a Vietnamese entrée which was a much better choice than the Princess chicken I ordered. We ordered crab rangoons and egg rolls that were very average.

Their Vietnamese dishes are great, the Chinese is average, and the sushi… well it technically qualifies as sushi. I’ve only ordered delivery a few times so I can’t speak to the condition of the restaurant itself, but the food is decent. The prices are a little high compared to similar places but nothing that will prevent me from ordering from them again in the future.

MJs is one of the secret goldmines of Chinese and Vietnamese food in the Quad Cities. During the school year, you can find me there once a week! They are owned by a local family, have more than reasonable prices, and just recently added a sushi bar, which I have been quite pleased with. There are lunch specials on everything: sushi, Chinese, and Vietnamese food. Everything tastes delicious, nothing like your average Chinese eat-and-run joint. The staff is friendly and attentive. If you find yourself close by, you should definitely give it a go. You can’t go wrong.

Mj’s is the absolute finest Asian food run by a very nice local family. Beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious Chinese, Vietnamese and sushi. The Vietnamese style eggrolls are thee best egg rolls in the Entire quad cities, and I’ve tried them all. This is no local grocery store Chinese food, nor is it anything like the modicum of Chinese food restaurants around town. This is the real deal in Asian Cuisine. You owe it to yourself to eat here..
