Don’t go here unless you want to get a hideous haircut. My boyfriend tried this place and well, they fucked it up. My mother has also tried here and the hairstylist was too busy staring out of the window.

Came here to get my boyfriend a haircut. He has straight asian hair. Showed the Vietnamese guy a picture of that hair I wanted for my boyfriend and he said ok. Next thing I know, he used a razor and chopped off most of his hair. This was not the style that I wanted. He completely did a random style that turned out bazaar. Will never come back again.

I used to come here every so often whenever I needed to get a haircut in Broward and I was surprised to see this place is under new ownership now. Most people would feel super bummed out or unhappy that their usual hairstylist isn’t there anymore when arriving at a salon but I think for this occasion I still came out feeling super happy. That is because I have been trying so hard to find a hairstylist in Broward or even South Florida that knows how to cut straight Asian hair at a reasonable price. There has been way too many occasions that I walk into any salon paying from $ 20 to $ 60, even with a picture in hand for what I want, and come out with something not even close or its obvious they messed up somewhere(usually the bangs) because my hair texture is straight so any mistake is very apparent. If you live in South FL you will realize its hard to find anybody who specializes in cutting Asian hair that isn’t trying to make you pay between $ 50 — $ 100 for women’s haircut. In California, its way cheaper. The new owners are Vietnamese and they are super nice and very friendly. I went there today(Feb 15) and they told me they just renovated the place and opened a week ago around lunar new year. I did not have to wait too long(about 10 minutes), which is not so bad because I arrived as a walk-in and there were 2 customers already there. I went in for just a haircut and asked for layers for my long hair, a bang trim, and to thin it out. The hairstylist who did my hair today is also one of the owners. He was very helpful in helping me decide on a hairstyle that fits my face shape, which is always my main concern. Before he cut my hair, he flat ironed it to remove creases made by me tying my hair up and gave me a consultation on what would look best and explained what he was going to do to my hair. He was able to answer any questions I had and was very open about telling me about himself and getting to know me.(I guess that is important for some people who love to be able to have small talk while getting their hair done.) Fun Fact: The owner has been cutting hair for about 15 years so yeah I would say he has a lot of experience in this industry and why this time my hair looked amazing. So the end result is that I came out of the salon feeling super happy with my hair and was just smiling the whole time and feeling great! Plus, the price I paid was only $ 25, which is not that expensive compared to other salons. That’s what led me to come here to write this review as a way to help other girls like me who have the same problem of finding someone who can cut Asian hair or just being able to go somewhere to cut your hair and leave you feeling happy about it in the end. I also asked them about pricing for full hair dying and its about $ 60, but I didn’t get that done during this trip to the salon. If they do dye jobs then they most likely offer highlights as well. They are also open 7 days a week and close at 7pm = convenience! This is definitely my new go to salon and easy to find. For some, their first impression of this place is that it doesn’t look like much because its like a «mom and pop size shop» but that shouldn’t keep you from giving it a try. This is a small salon with about 6 salon chairs and the décor has been updated to red and white. It’s located in the same shopping plaza as a popular supermarket called«Foodtown» and nail polish distributor called«Lucky’s» and this hair salon is to the left of a «Phở Vietnamese Noodles Restaurant» in the plaza. As of today, the light up sign still says the name of the previous salon«Family Hair» but I think they will change it soon to their new name«Asia Hair.» They also cut men’s hair too. When I was leaving, they gave me a cute keychain with their contact info including the cell number of my hairstylist, so if you have questions you can probably ask him first if its possible to do whatever look you want, it’s(442)444−0888. I know some people might be thinking, «I go to this other hair salon in Broward called ‘SK Hair Studio’ or „Changing Room“ when looking for a hairstylist that does Asian hair.» Well, I went to both places before and my experience there compared to here differs drastically. My reasons is that at SK, they did not know how to do the style I asked for but went ahead and cut it anyway with hesitation on her face the whole time and it just came out super bad, she definitely doesn’t know how to cut bangs. Maybe it’s good to go there for a digital perm but haircut no. The Changing Room they charge way too much and they don’t really know how to cut asian hair like the hairstylists claim they do, no one can speak english that well, and have bad customer service. I really think this place does a much better job in giving you the hairstyle you want that will make you smile at the end, they are more helpful when addressing any concerns you have, they speak English, and the price is about the same or cheaper.
