Paul Bange Roofing

I have used Paul Bange roofing for many years, not only there residential side but there commercial department as well — they are absolutely a phenomenal group from top to bottom. They stand behind there work and have been serving south Florida for many years. Over those years I have taken notice that the Bange group seems to always established a personal & professional relationship with all most all of there customers. They are definatly one of the most reputable contractors we deal with, not to mention how much charitable work and sponsorship commitments they engage in for there local community.

It’s nice to see there are still professional, honest companies still out there. The roof was done on time as promised. Tearing down the old roof was extremely messy, but when they finished, there was nothing out of place, and it looked like they’d never been there. I definitely recommend them for any roofing job. No, no, and no. Don’t even call these people for an estimate. We had wind damage to our roof, and needed to have it repaired or replaced. We made the mistake of calling them for an estimate– and still don’t have one. The consultant they sent out, John Kenney, acted as though he was doing us a favor to even bother to look at the job. He went on about how they are not an inexpensive company, and how our homeowner’s insurance was not going to pay anything (Wait, what? Did I call a roofing company, or an insurance company? Was I asking for a handout?). Why could he not give an estimate to replace the roof, if that’s what needed to be done? He was patronizing, rude and obnoxious («Oh no, I wouldn’t touch this) — then when I called to complain, offered to come back. Yeah, no, we’ll pass– and so should you. Maybe we weren’t the right color or socioeconomic class for Paul Bange– and if so, we are happy to take our money elsewhere.

Jimmy came out and gave me an estimate on my 4 unit building. He answered all of my questions and even dropped off samples of 2 colors I was deciding between. I went with a 3 layer roof that included the felt, an extra water barrier, and architectural shingles.
For the most part, the workers busted their butts. Camacho, the supervisor on the job spoke very little English and ignored concerns I pointed out to him. Jimmy made sure those concerns were addressed though.
In the end, the roof looks great and for $ 29.95 a month they inspect it annually and take pictures, repairing any trouble spots and giving a lifetime warranty. As Jimmy put it, when the roof does eventually need replaced from age, its covered.
As a side note, I offered to pay for the wood and second installment on the contract and was told they’d collect payment at the end when I was satisfied with everything.
I’d have given 5 stars except for Camacho and some of the workers not cleaning up their lunch debris and beverage bottles.

I’m one of those guys that like to learn everything I can about different components before I contact a contractor for a job. Then I pretend that I know absolutely nothing to see who the honest contractors are that are worthy of my business. I can tell you Paul Bange is as dishonest as it gets.
I had a roof leak over my garage. So I read up on everything there is to know about roof installation before I contacted several contractors that had good reviews from my area. When the rep from Paul Bange came he peeked into my attic for about 25 seconds, came down and recommended that I replace that whole section of my roof. I guess since I seemed like I didn’t know anything he felt he could legally steal from me. He quoted me a «bargain price» of $ 6,000. When I said «wow really? I can’t believe that I have to do that. That’s expensive.»
His response was laughable, he said «don’t worry, we will do an excellent job. And we are licensed and insured!» I almost wanted to laugh at that response. He must have really thought he was dealing with a fool because almost all roofing contractors have those two qualities. So of course I never called them back.
Just so this company can’t even refute what a rip off this price is, I will give you details and a quote from another reputable and honest company who recommended the same solution. Accounting for the pitch of my hip roof, the surface area that he recommended to be reroofed is approximately 518 sq feet. The other highly rated company quoted me only $ 3,000 for the same job. That means Paul Bange was overcharging by $ 3,000 for the same job! In case you’re wondering I got a repair quote from a very honest guy in the range of $ 750-​$ 1500 depending on what he needed to do after the tiles were pulled off. He ended up charging me only $ 750 and gave me a warranty. This was back in 2011 and my roof hasn’t leaked since then.
If I went with paul bange, I would have been out an extra $ 5250! DO NOT do business with them. Will they do a good job? Maybe. But do you want to be ripped off for a quality roof work or would you rather go with an honest company who will do a good job for a fair price? I think the answer is obvious.

Very reputable and friendly company. I had my flat roof replaced and a carpenter came out and replaced all of the bad soffit and fascia board for minimal cost compared to ridiculous quotes I was given by other companies. They were even able to save two rows of cement tiles where the pitched roof meets the flat membraned roof. I was really pleased that they were able to remove the tiles without damaging them, since I had few tiles leftover and that particular color was discontinued by the manufacturer. I would highly recommend this company. The owner came out during and after the job was done to check on everything. How many owners of large companies do a personal follow-​up to make sure the job was done right? Not very many.

I called Paul Bange Roofing for an estimate on a repair and replacement of a roof on property I own in Ft. Lauderdale. I was told they would not go out to the property unless they had a phone number and a confirmed appointment. I gave them the number of my property manager, when he would be available, the property address, my phone number and email address. Five days later, I, nor my property manager have not heard a word so I call to find out what has happened. I was told I was not in the system, that perhaps my manager did not return a call to confirm an appointment. When I suggested that perhaps the person who took my information did not make th call or pass it on to the estimator to call or perhaps lost the information or dropped it in the trash, I was told that my attitude let her know that more than likely I would not be using them for a roofing job so I should have a good day. With that she hung up on me! She’s right, I would not use this company. The attitude and poor customer service on the phone tells me volumes about the way this company operates as well as the regard they have for their clients, potential clients and the public.
