I never expected fast food sandwiches to be this good. I got a tuna sandwich on sour dough bread. This sandwich comes with teriyaki seasoning and the tuna is cooked medium(what they told me when I ordered though I thought it was more well cooked than medium). The bread slices are toasted and just thick enough so the bread doesn’t get soggy and cause any awkwardness while handling. Yet not thick enough to throw off the filling-to-bread ratio. I loved that the tuna fillet was actually just a cut of tuna fillet instead of the generic perfectly white processed fish fillet you see in many fast food restaurants. Their fries are also delicious.

A pretty darn good burger! And I love their fries. I’ve eaten here very late a few times when other restaurants have been closed. Don’t be fooled though… this place has some very greasy food.

A charbroiled CA burger chain that serves solid burgers at a reasonable price. Not as convenient or cheap as In N Out, but they are distinguishable by having a few more menu items. My favorite items include: Teriyaki Char: charbroiled burger with teriyaki sauce and a pineapple ring– it’s like taking a bite of Hawaii and the acid/juices from the pineapple mix well with teriyaki sauce to tenderize the meat. Onion rings: some of the best onion rings that have a good texture, the right amount of batter, and not too much oil. Sweet potato fries: dusted with a slight amount of sugar and also generally more healthy than regular fries. Also, they do fundraisers Monday-Wednesday for students groups which helps support the community!

I hella love The Habit. They have quality food for super cheap. Plus the venue is always spotless, and the staff is OVERLYFRIENDLY. I personally like the teriyaki char and the sweet potato fries! Something a lot of my friends enjoy about this place is the fact that you can order chicken nuggets individually, versus in sets… They’re apparently really tasty. Also, they have MALTS! I’ll for sure be back for more!

The burgers here actually look like they do in their pictures! This is our go to burger place now in Davis since it’s tastier than In & Out and without the wait. Nothing like getting a hot burger off the flat-top with the crispy toasted bun! It’s also great they have add seasonal burgers to the menu to mix things up.

I tried their mushroom char and Santa Barbara style and both are delicious! I like the Santa Barbara style in particular. Crispy sourdough with avocado paste and juicy meat in between it, definitely something to die for. It also comes with a few slices of oranges just in case you got a little bit fed-up with the sandwich, which it didn’t happen to me :) it is true that the burgers are a little bit too expensive for me as I could get an animal style double-double, fries and a neopolitian shake at In-N-out with that price. However, It is definitely not a bad choice when you ate too much In-N-out burgers and need a change for fast food options.

Always great food. Good service, can’t go wrong. I work in the area and I love that I can order online the only thing is that they don’t fully make your food until you’re there so don’t expect to just pick it up. You normally have to wait about 3 – 5 minutes, no biggie. My favorite choices are the bacon char and the tri tip with teriyaki sauce! YUUUM

I used to work at In N Out so when friends and family boldly stated that The Habit burgers were better I was insulted yet intrigued. The first time I went I tried their charburger with cheese and I have to admit it was amaZeballs. Their burgers are so fresh, juicy and well seasoned that it’s hard to deny their deliciousness. The Habit really focuses on quality and it shines through in their food. They cook the food right in front of you and offer other proteins other than just beef. Their chicken sandwiches are just as amazing and they use this signature teriyaki sauce on their salads that works better than any dressing you might want to use. I have also tried their onion rings which are perfectly crispy and a perfect side dish to any burger/sandwich. Their kids menu offers a grilled cheese which I suggest any grilled cheese lover to try! The cleanliness and service is up to par with their food and I would definitely recommend stopping by your local Habit as soon as possible.

By far my favorite fast-food burger! I always always always get the bbq bacon char! It always comes out so juicy and so fresh that I can’t hold myself back from swallowing that burger whole(figuratively, of course.) Anyways when I eat this burger I get a stack of jalapeños and put them in my burger and turn it into a BBQBACONJALAPEÑOCHAR now doesn’t that sound gourmet? Yeah thought so. Anyways, while you’re enjoying that sucker, you also have to prep your fry condiment right. So what I do is fill one of the plastic containers up with 1⁄6 tobasco and then the rest with ketchup. Mix the two condiments up like you’re mashing some potatoes and you have a spicy fry dressing. So now dip, nip, and enjoy. Well that’s how I do it anyway… You do you. The Habit wasn’t named #1 burger for nothing! A MUST-TRY!!!

I returned to the habit burger to update my first review. The service was far better on this visit. We even used cuopons and ordered different types of burgers. The burgers were delicious as usual. I knocked off one star because the table was a little sticky. We left happy and full.

Delicious Original Double Char Burger and the Onion Rings might be the best Onion Rings I ever had. I had to top off lunch with one of their yummy Ice Cream Cones. Staff was fast, fun and friendly.

For me, eating at this restaurant was a bitter-sweet experience. We had a Farewell Feast in honor of a friend who is no longer with us at Davis.(She’s not dead.) The outside eating are had a nice atmosphere. We ate in a circle and hung out for the last supper we would be a complete group. The food definitely added to the pleasure of this experience-now-a-memory. I definitely recommend the pineapple teriyaki. The grilled pineapples add to the sensations in your taste buds. If you don’t eat red meats, like my friend Shimran, then you can definitely go with their chicken sandwiches with she tells me were«good.» One last recommendation is to try the onion rings and dip them in ranch. I don’t think there will be any visit quite like my first but that is not going to stop me from eating there again. It’s just so scrumptious!!!

My boyfriend read that Habit is named the #1 burger joint(even after In n Out *shocks*) of California in an article. So after an intense leg day workout at the ARC, we decided to reward ourselves with something greasy and satisfying. FOOD: – Original charburger w/American cheese — 3 stars Just your average burger to me, not exactly sure how this is better than In n Out. I suppose the beef patty was juicy and tender, but otherwise nothing special. I know many order this and love it, but my personal favorite is actually the tri-tip steak grilled sandwich. – Tri-tip steak sandwich w/Teriyaki sauce — 3.5 stars Tri-tip is grilled to perfection! I love the taste of the toasty sourdough bread and teriyaki sauce combination. A must order if you haven’t tried it and/or it’s your first time at Habit! – Onion rings — 3 stars Standard onion rings, although I like that they’re crispy. Sometimes the onions aren’t fresh which makes it hard to bite through the onion. – Strawberry shake — 4 stars Thissss is actually better than In n Out’s shakes. The consistency was on point and definitely more smooth and delicious to drink. Recommend! SERVICE/COMMENTS: Everyone’s really friendly! From ordering to getting our food and taking our trays at the end, everybody had smiles on their faces which makes a dining experience that much better. However, altogether our meal was $ 18 which is QUITE pricey compared to In n Out, and the quality isn’t better IMO. Also, I’m not sure which item it was, but there was definitely some SERIOUSMSG added ’cause I had an intense dry mouth afterwards. I suppose there’s a reason why I haven’t came back in years, and now my boyfriend probably won’t either.

Not impressed. Is this place supposed to have a special defining item or style? Because I ordered the number one combo which is generally the Menu item an eatery is known for. And I was completely unimpressed. The fries were as standard as you can make them. Size, shape, taste. No unique seasoning or presentation style. Same with the charburger. Just an average burger. Mediocre, even. Standard ingredients: lettuce tomato onions(at least they’re grilled, I guess) pickles mayo. You can get it with cheese if you wish. No sauce other than mayo! What! Is going on! The bun is the classic kind you draw when you draw a hamburger, the kind with the sesame seeds. Burgers aren’t particularly big either. The thing I liked most about this place was the fact that they have a jalapeño bar next to the soda machine. Three different kinds! One is the sliced kind.

Everyone is always raving about this place, so I finally decided to try it. I didn’t see what the big deal was, it tasted like a standard Jack in the box burger. I was also shocked how small the burger was for like $ 6, I was expecting it to be a lot bigger. The fries were better than a standard fast food restaurant though, and the service was good. Probably wouldn’t ever go out of my way to go here because the food is just so-so.

I think for me, I like their salads more than their burger. Don’t get me wrong, they sure can make a good burger but the tri-tip on their salads are pretty good too. The place itself is clean with a lively ambiance, customer service is pretty good too. The wait for food is a litte bit, but you can’t rush good food. Reason why I’d only come here for the tri-tip salad is that they’re the only ones that have kept the meat juicy for a salad. When I typically have beef on a salad, it ends up pretty chewy and in need of some seasoning. Habit’s tri-tip is still tender, a little pink and juicy… pairing perfectly with the crunchy croutons and salad. I typically go with the caesar salad but occasionally I’d want the garden salad with the house dressing(balsamic and olive oil). On top of the salad, their fries are pretty good too. It’s near the top of my favorite places to get a fry. They’re bigger than the ones that you can get at in-n-out but no dry and good on it own(especially when it’s fresh out of the fryer) Final Thoughts: My favorite place for a tri-tip salad.

I always get the Original Charburger with swiss cheeese and sweet potato fries! Quite pricey at about $ 2.65 for the amount of sweet potato fries they give you though. I come here when I want something just a notch yummier than In-N-Out. The staff seem friendly. It’s nice that they give you a buzzer after ordering so that you know when to go up to the counter and get your food. TIP: They offer ranch behind the counter, ask for it!

A bit pricier than fast food burgers, because you’re paying for the quality of the ingredients. You can order from a number of types of burgers and add extra toppings for an additional charge. You get a black device and it vibrates when your order is ready. There was one time where my cheese wasn’t melted and was cold :/other than that, service here is pretty good, but parking can suck during peak hours.

Omg that was such a delicious hamburger and fries. Of course The Habit is known for it’s amazing hamburgers. And I will have to agree, they are very tasty and cooked perfectly, love all the condiments including the grilled onions. The french fries are great also. They have a wide variety of non-hamburgers and they also have a good counter of condiments. Aside from the wonderful food the reason I give The Habit 5 stars today is because of the customer service. Due to a couple of errors on the part of the cashier, we ended up one burger and one fry short of the order we placed. The wonderful young lady that I pointed this out to, brought us both(burger and fry) for free. She said she wanted us to be happy. I told her we were delighted. We didn’t even have to pay for the extra food. I will be going back to The Habit.
