got an awsome deal on my mattress going back to get a sofa later this year

Got helped by sanjay and found a great mattress! My old mattress was sagging to no end. I was about to buy a mattress for $ 700, but ended up spending $ 3000 on a new mattress and I really like it! No way the $ 700 one compared. I also got a very great financing deal! The mattress I purchased was the technogel piacere. It is a firmer mattress

I came here with 1 thing in mind: find the cheapest firm mattress possible.
Doug and Jay were not only very welcoming and responsive to my needs, but they were also very pleasant to talk to! They currently have a great deal going on for students since it’s moving season ($ 50 off certain mattresses i believe), and Jay cut me a small discount for paying in cash over debit or card. I would most certainly recommend The Sleep Center for mattresses if you’re a poor college kid (such as I), especially since Jay and Doug understand that students not only want a bang for their buck, but also comfort and quality.

They were very helpful, showing me all of the beds that were in my price range and clearly explaining the differences. They even offered me great discounts on top of the advertised sale!

It was my first time buying a mattress so nervous as I was, I did some research before going. However, when I went, the man who helped me, Jay, didn’t seem too receptive of my questions — I asked him about coil count, where the mattresses were made, how many inches, whether it was memory or latex foam, etc. He initially answered them normally, but around my third question, it was increasingly obvious to me that he was getting annoyed by his tone.
He then said he could cut me a deal on the mattress I was looking at, from 299 to 250, but the 250 price was a ‘you must pick it up yourself’ kind of deal and I couldn’t use the 10% coupon I had. I asked if it was at all possible to deliver and my car, small as it is, wouldn’t be able to fit the mattress.
He said: «We normally charge $ 35 for delivery. But I saw you were shopping around and I was just trying to help you out. With 250, I can’t offer delivery. You have to pick it up.» I said that was fine, I’d think about it, since I was still shopping around and he seemed really upset, saying, «Okay, sure, fine. I was just trying to help you out. This 250 deal, it’s a good deal, it’s a one time only thing for today. I wouldn’t do this for other people so easily. Shop around then, see if you can find any better deals than here.»
Upset, I left the store. But I thought about it for a bit and called to check if I could get the mattress for $ 250 + delivery for $ 35, and after calculating the tax, he said, «Oh, $ 309 out the door? Fine, come on over right now.» And just when I began to say «Thank you, see you soon», he abruptly hung up on me. Seeing that I needed a mattress soon, I just thought I’d buy from them and forget about my bad experience.
Just before I left, I checked the coupon that I clipped from the DavisGreenMachine for 10% and made sure that I couldn’t use that for the mattress. However, I did a double take when I saw that the coupon clearly said: «Free delivery! Free setup!»
I checked the numbers and if I had actually gotten the mattress at full price with the coupon and had it delivered for free + tax, it would have been slightly cheaper at $ 305 than if I’d gotten the mattress at 250 with delivery + tax at $ 309. No wonder he was so quick to agree.
The price difference honestly isn’t a big deal. I just felt really upset and cheated, both by his tone and his lack of honesty, saying that they normally charged $ 35 for delivery when the coupon I clipped clearly said they delivered for free. I read other reviews and they also charged others for delivery when they advertise completely otherwise.
I then decided to go the extra mile and drive to Matthews Mattress on E. 8^th to do a price check and the salesman offered me a similar, 299 mattress for 250 with pillow top, free delivery and a 50% off mattress pad, without me even asking. Moreover, the salesperson there, Danny, was friendly and answered all my questions, even offering other alternative beds and options. Delivery seems to be the norm with selling mattresses and it’s upsetting that Jay would see that I was a first time mattress shopper and take advantage of that.
Had I not had such a bad experience with customer service, I probably would have gone with Sleep Center as their location is so much closer to my home and the prices aren’t bad. However, if anyone else I know is buying a mattress, I’m definitely going to tell them to not come to Sleep Center. It’s so much more worth it to go to Matthews Mattresses or all the way to Sac or Vacaville.

I am a return customer to Sleep Center in Davis. They have fantastic products, wonderful customer service, and good prices. My experiences have been great with store owner/​manager Ramesh. He even warrantied a mattress for us (provided a new one free of charge) that the manufacturer (wrongly) refused to back up. I highly recommend them! A+++

I have purchased 2 beds from this store. My mattress, which is a great mattress and my guest bed. Ian sold us our first bed. Husband and I tried many mattresses and narrowed it to 2. Ian was helpful, not pushy, and accommodating. A year or two later, we needed a bed for our empty nest guest room. Another man helped us. He was very hands-​off. I called and bought the bed over the phone about 5 days later. It was easy. I recommend them!

I recently bought the Gentle Response Revive foam mattress. Ian was helpful in identifying my needs and recommending the appropriate mattress. I ended up buying the first mattress I tried (after shopping around). I am happy with the mattress; however, I’m disappointed in the level of customer service I received. I felt like Ian was telling me what I wanted to hear, when he knew it wasn’t necessarily true. He was happy to take my money, but not happy to see that I was satisfied. My mattress was delivered a day later than scheduled, and Ian said this was his fault. Also, the mattress protector I ordered was not delivered with the bed. I had to go out of my way to a) bother Ian until he got one in stock and b) pick it up in the store 2 days later. Each interaction with Ian felt insincere. I kept getting his apologies, but no solution to my problems. When I went to pick up the mattress protector in the store, he threw in a free pillow. I was shocked by this based on his previous lack of concern. I started to say «I really appreciate this pillow, because I’ve been disappointed by your customer service.» Instead, I got out «I really appreciate this pillow» before the phone rang, Ian turned his back to me, and ran off to answer it. Ian, you have room to improve on your customer service skills!

Have you gone to the sleep center? I just bought a bedroom set there and the prices were fabulous and the service was great too. I discovered The Sleep Center while looking for furniture on Craigslist (dealers post there too) and on a whim I drove to their store in Davis (the have a warehouse in Elk Grove and Vacaville too). I couldn’t believe that their prices were so good. I found beautiful bunk beds for 379 and they were similar to the $ 2000 beds at Pottery Barn for Kids (and I was at Restoration Hardware and a similar bed just as expensive). I would highly recommend you look them up and check at their merchandise. Their delivery fee was only 20 – 30 bucks but for 50 they will deliver and set up too. The guy that sold me this was so totally high pressure sales, NOT! He was this cool laid back dude who was so patient to find my lost credit card. The beds are here not and look great, nice for kids, even when I decided to convert the bunk beds into twin beds (safety reasons). Yeah, this place ROCKS!
