Comfort Inn DeLand – near University

This hotel is the only game in town. It was the first time I stayed at a Choice Hotel. It was not the Ritz, but it was a clean good night’s sleep. The breakfast though, was god awful. The one employee who was in charge of breakfast stood in the corner and yelled at people if they were making their waffle wrong. The food itself was pretty bad; enough for a Unilocaler to quit what he does. The bathrooms were fine, but the showerhead was so terrible, barely enough pressure to even say it was running.

Great hotel and fair prices. The parking lot is adequate and could be larger especially when the hotel is full. Cars have to park in the grass near the hotel when there is no vacancy. The staff is great! Friendly and very professional. Jennifer who works the evening shift is very helpful and courteous. She goes out of her way to make sure you have a comfortable stay. We have stayed here over 10 times and every time our room is very clean and neat. No foul smells on the sheets or in the bathroom. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Never experienced loud noises or parties. The breakfast is adequate. Nothing to brag about. Your typical eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit and cereal. Cant complain because it is free and will hold you over good enough. Lobby and halls have always been clean with no trash or odors. We will continue to stay here on all of our trips. Stay in a suite if you can. Definately alot more room and worth the extra price. Stetson Univ is a 5 minute drive from here.
