Just inside the door, we were instantly greeted — no, we were warmly welcomed! The staff made us first time visitors feel like family. The home cooking was comfort food at its best. The fried chicken was prepared extra, extra crispy for my spouse. «Just the way I would have made it,» she exclaimed. Courtney, our server, was attentive, courteous and genuinely interested in us and our desires. Our only regret was not leaving room for their famous cake and pies. But as they say, there’s always next time, and for us, there will be a next time.

Excellent service, good food. After a horrible experience at Debbies, we decided to give Diamonds a try. Our waitress should go to Debbies and train their waitresses. Some of the best service that we have ever received. Tyesha(?) was her name. I’m sure that I butchered the spelling, but we recommend that you ask for her. Awesome!

Decided to try a new place for breakfast on Mothers Day. Diamond’s did not disappoint. New menu with lots of options! We tried the cinnamon roll french toast, bacon waffle, chicken and waffle, and the chicken breast omelet. Everything was fresh and delicious. Portions are large but reasonably priced. Definitely a new place for breakfast.

OK… next time, I will only order breakfast because that seems to be what gets the great reviews. Tonight we ordered the Popcorn Shrimp Appetizer and the Reuben. First off, everything was piping hot which I really appreciate. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. The rest of the staff was also very friendly. It was nice to see younger employees work hard, with great attitudes and awesome customer service. 1. The shrimp — It wasn’t good. My daughter loves fish, seafood, and sushi. She had it in her head that she wanted shrimp. But when it came and it was breaded she decided to ‘peal’ it be cause she didn’t want the breading. There was only a miniscule amount of shrimp after pealing away the breading. Definitely a pre-breaded, frozen, flash-fried item. Priced very inexpensively, but maybe use fresh and put less on the plate? 2. The Reuben — better but not great. The bread was good and not over greasy. The meat was substantial and steaming hot. There could have been twice as much sauerkraut for my taste but I love the stuff. The cheese was terrible. Definitely not Swiss. It was a processed cheese which ruined the sandwich. Again, a great price, but maybe drop the side of soup and use real cheese instead. The fries were okay. The side of soup was tasty when it first came out and was hot but as soon as it cooled it was pasty because it was so thick. Large portion size though. If it wasn’t for the service and the few redeeming qualities of part of the Reuben I would have given only one star. I really want to go back and try the breakfast. I have a feeling that is where this kitchen excels.

My fiancée and I decided to give this place a shot on a whim. We’d just returned from a long run, and had planned to go to The Blue Spoon for the first time. However, since the Blue Spoon is cash only, and we literally had no cash, we never made it in the door. We got home in search of somewhere else to eat, and landed on Diamond’s based on a few positive Unilocal reviews. First of all, the service was exceptional. I believe our waitress was Brittany, but it seemed everyone working that morning was attentive and providing good service. Our drink orders were taken before we had even sat down, and they were never empty after that. My fiancée ordered the french toast and absolutely loved it. I had the Hercules skillet, which is VERY appropriately named. My food came quickly, and even halfway through was still hot enough that I had to let it cool. The food portion was simply MASSIVE, and I left feeling stuffed(which was definitely the goal that morning). I can’t claim I am hard to please or a picky person or consider myself a food critic, but I’d say my food was tasty and hearty. We are glad we gave Diamond’s a chance and will definitely be returning(especially when we want A LOT of food for a good price). I don’t think we’ll have to worry about having cash around to go to the Blue Spoon.

So, I like breakfast. It’s my «treat» and the mark of a day off. I had an omelette. It was one of the special omelets that had everything(peppers, onions, ham, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, cheese) and it was GREAT. It was essentially a lot of fillings held together with some eggs. Their hashbrowns were GREAT. They weren’t those bagged, frozen hashbrowns. It looked like they were shredded locally and tasted great. The pancakes(as my toast/muffin/etc.) were good. Coffee was pretty good as well. I could see how parking could be an issue. It was tight, but the turnover was pretty good at 10:30 on a Sunday morning. We didn’t have to wait at all for a table. My parents had the ham and it was very good. I love ham, but it was a lot of ham! Bathrooms were clean. I might put the trashcan by the door so I could throw the paper towel in after touching the door handle. What a great spot. I look forward to going back.
