So this is one of those«natural» salons that really are just stylists that do natural hair i.e., they can do weaves and presses but if you want a twist out or perm rod set, keep it moving! Spent $ 70 on a cut and a natural style, walked out almost bald 47 minutes later.(How did a cut and some curling cream cost $ 70?) Anyway, my hair is too short to be twisted. However I found Melissa Wilson at the Hair Garden and she has helped me immensely. She understands natural hair and was great. I should have known when I walked in this was not the place for me(I don’t want to press my hair because I don’t want to change the texture) and Melissa understood. She actually teaches natural hair classes at the Natural Hair expo. Bottom line, run don’t walk from this place(unless you want a weave or a press.) But you shouldn’t charge those kind of prices for people who really arent proficient in natural hair care.

I originally purchased a groupon for this shop. This should have been my first clue. Nonetheless, when I called I relieved a pleasant greeting, and was enthusiastically booked an appointment on short notice. I came in to get my natural hair layered and add some highlights. Upon arriving no one was at the salon and no one arrived until 15 – 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment. When my stylist did arrive she brought along her 2 year old child. Which although the stylist was nice, it was extremely unprofessional. I ended up being charged $ 140 dollars!!! My highlights were barely visible and now no one will return my calls/text. Beware!!! Do not go to this salon you will be disappointed. g

I’ve been here several times and have been in love with what I’ve gotten each time! I’ve gotten several updos, a twist out, and today I went and got a sew in. The owner is very personal and cordial and the stylists really care about your hair. Nice atmosphere, wonderful people, and my hair looks AMAZING! Thanks y’all!

Do not go here for short cuts! The one bright spot in my experience with GLAM was that they were responsive to the message I left them about making an appointment, and they were able to schedule me quickly. My experience in their salon was a different story altogether. When scheduling, I told them I wanted my natural hair cut into a tapered fro. They booked me with Constance. I brought Constance a photo of a model in exactly the haircut I wanted – same style, same length, and very similar texture to my hair. Constance butchered my hair. Instead of a tapered fro, she cut my hair to be even in length for the most part, and then growing into a trapezoidal shape at the top of my head. Too short, angling in at the top of my head, and stopping bluntly in a flat top above my head. Combed out, it looked horrible. Luckily, once I got home and put product in it, I was able to hide the shape to some degree. Still, I got it recut a couple days later. On my way out of GLAM, the receptionist said she’d to call me in two weeks to see how I felt about my hair then. She never called. Luckily, by then, I’d had it fixed by someone else.(The second cut was done by Jameela at Loop Salon. She did an amazing job giving me the shape I wanted. It had to be shorter than I’d originally planned though, since Constance had cut off too much from everywhere except the top.) Please don’t make the mistake I did. Do not go here for short, natural cuts. I will never go here again for any hair style.

I visited the salon shortly after its grand opening and the inside was beautifully decorated. When you walk in, it’s like a different place considering the location. There is a pink carpet area with screen to pose for pictures. You feel like a diva. Definitely not what I was expecting for a hair salon. I purchased a LivingSocial deal for a shampoo, trim, hydration and flat twist style. I also brought along hubby to get his hair with cornrows. The first sign something was wrong was after our stylists washed our hair; no blow dry. Maybe I would let that pass for my hair, but for men’s cornrows??? Just braiding wet hair? Also, I’m not sure if my stylist was aware of the promotion the salon was running but she kept asking about the deal I purchased as far as the hair style. I quoted her exactly what was on the paper. To make a long story short, my husband and I were not pleased with the final result. My husband’s braids looked like it was done by an amateur and my hair style not did not have a «fresh» and«clean» look. The frizz on both of our heads made it seem as though we had worn the styles for a few days, not like we just got our hair done. The stylists could tell we weren’t really satisfied,(my husband was so upset, he paid and left the salon). I didn’t even get my trim! I was just taken back by the lack of quality in both stylists’ work. Don’t be fooled by the inside of the salon! I really wanted to give them a chance and say that I found my new salon but I will keep looking elsewhere. I didn’t cause a fuss because I purchased a voucher but I won’t be back.

I really enjoyed my experience at GLAM Natural Hair Salon. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dontria was great. She did a wonderful job with explaining to me what she was doing to my hair. She was very personable and sweet. I am very excited that they are open on Sundays!
