This is an okay place to come grab a quick lunch. Prices are decent but not as cheap as I thought. The meat was precooked already. I was disappointed that it wasn’t cooked fresh to order. The veggies were cooked fresh, however, which was pretty good. I thought the kimchi was free but it was an extra 50 cents. The wait was around 10 minutes for the food to go. There’s no place to sit on the inside. Overall, a good place to grab a quick meal to go, but left nothing for me to desire and come back for another visit.

An awesome go to for really good food. The tacos are very good, beef, pork, chicken and tofu are all good. Actually over a 3 week period I tried everything on the menu except for the wings and fried tacos and it is all really good. Nothing is really spicy unless you want it to be, the kim chi is a little hot.

I really like the idea of this place. And people really seem to like it. My mom and I thought the problem was, they were too popular at the time. Our food was good, but we’d asked for our tacos without cheese and they did come out with cheese, which was annoying. And the food was pretty good, other than that. The ramen looks like it’d be just as good as the stuff I’d make at home. So… That’s another thought. It was good *shrug

I’m slightly floored by the idea of Korean and Mexican food fused! I came across this restaurant during the Decatur Arts Festival. It’s a little hole in the wall, but the food is delicious and authentic. Without the push of my friends, I might not have tried it. Typically, I’m not as adventurous when it comes to food, so I was pleasantly surprised to order food that absolutely blew me away. I ordered two spicy chicken BBQ tacos and I was in heaven. I ordered a side of french fries, which were also delicious. My friend ordered the vegetarian potstickers, which she LOVED! Another person in our party ordered lemon pepper chicken wings and wasn’t a big fan. Make sure you stick to one of their specialties. The restaurant is more of an order out format rather than a sit down restaurant. The cashiers are friendly and bring you your food once it’s ready. They have a great patio with tables and umbrellas, which is perfect seating for summer festivals. Definitely check out this restaurant! You won’t be disappointed by this fusion of Korean and Mexican:)

The reviews drew me in and the food really was fresh/yummy. Service was so so so slow! I ordered take out and waited 40ish minutes. Try it out, but don’t be in a hurry. Not a good place for small children.

I ordered a burrito with pork and rice(#8). The food was very good and nice and fresh. I have to admit that paying $ 8 for a burrito with no sides or drink is a little frustrating, but it is very good.(They have a $ 7 card limit so I guess it worked out.) The wait was not too long, but I’m assuming during the week at lunch time they may be a little busier, so I suggest calling ahead if you’re in a hurry since there is only one or two people working the counter. As far as seating and parking, There is little place to sit inside with just a bar with about four chairs in addition to a couple of tables outside of the store. It is located in downtown Decatur so there is limited parking. I will definitely be going back to try something new!

I’ve walked by this place about 10 times, always very intrigued, but then always put off when I walk in and see the service line and the low eighties health inspection. Today I finally decided to give it a chance and was really disappointed, or it lived up to my expectations, depending on how you look at it. I had the pork belly and the Korean BBQ taco, both fillings were good, but both tortillas were ice cold. I also watched them pull all of the ingredients from pre-made packages, which didn’t make me feel like it was worth the effort to come downtown for. Won’t be back again.

Located in downtown Decatur, this place is the best Korean food in the area. K bbq tacokorea is a fusion Korean, Mexican joint. They make Korean bbq and then put in in nacho, taco, or burrito form. They also offer a classic Korean dish, bibimbop(if you’re not totally into the fusion thing). The food is absolutely delicious. I had the spicy pork taco(my fav), the spicy chicken taco(same flavor as the pork; pork is better), pork belly kimchi taco(more fat than meat on my taco), and the spicy pork bibimbop burrito. I loved everything! The flavors come together so well. I’m a huge fan of spicy pork and this place did not disappoint. That burrito is very filling and will leave you with a smile in your face. Though my pork belly taco had a lot of fat, the homemade kimchi makes the taco delish. The owners of the restaurant are an older Korean couple. The sweetest people you’ll meet. They are both working their butts off and will entertain you with interesting conversation if they’re not too busy. Can’t wait to go back!

The hubs and I really like this place. Everything we’ve tried is solid and tasty. Be it the bibim burrito, tacos, quesadilla, or my new favorite bibim bap(protein of choice with veggies & fried egg over rice). I’m thankful for another Asian joint in Decatur. The owner(who manages the register) and his wife(who makes the food) are really nice too. Not much seating though(a few indoor spots and some outdoor tables). We usually get the food to go to eat at home.

A little shop owned by these cute elderly Koreans. There were some high table top seating arrangements available inside with additional tables and chairs on the other side of the shop that’s still indoors. The BBQ burrito was filling as heck since rice was stuffed inside and somewhat big(i.e. slightly less fat than a little smaller than Chipotle’s). It had a semi sweetness that I thought was unique. Maybe bc I was scarfing down the tacos I ordered. Hehe. Oh. The bf also ordered the pulled pork(from the BBQ category & is my 3rd fav out of the 4 I tasted). The tacos were split into 3 categories. Since this was my 1st time here, I ordered one from each: * BBQ: spicy pork 4th choice * Fried: calamari — 1st choice * Grilled: tilapia — 2nd choice So what I ordered were 3 tacos. The bf ordered an additional one along with the burrito I mentioned. All these stuffed the two of us very much. It came out to be less than $ 20($ 17 ish with change?). There’s a $ 5 minimum if you’re using your card btw.

So for better or for worse, I’ve hit this place up twice in the past 2 days. It’s a super convenient and decent food venue if you’re staying at the Mariott across the street. I’ve ordered a few things: Potstickers — super crispy, but the meat inside is a little weirdly flavored Bibimbap burrito — haha this is great! it has all the flavors of the usual dish, but the portability of the time honored burrito. this was my favorite dish Shrimp and fries combo — this was a dish of desperation, everything was definitely frozen, but hey I was hungry and this was literally the closest thing. FYI: $ 5 minimum for credit cards, but that shouldn’t be difficult to do.

Great spot. No frills, nothing fancy; just a counter, tables, and great food. No wait on a Wednesday around 2pm. The staff is super friendly. We really liked that they grill the burritos(i.e. they stick it in a George Forman-style grill for a little bit after wrapping it). My friend and I split our two burritos, and we both liked the BBQ Burrito better. They come with salsa and ranch dressing, but you MUST ask for the spicy sauce! Please see my photos for extra info/details! * BBQ Burrito(beef, $ 7) — 4.5 stars This was great. There was just the right proportion of rice, meat, and a few select greens like edamame. It also held together better and was much more easy to bite into than the Bibim Burrito. * Bibim Burrito(spicy pork, $ 8) — 4 stars This seemed the more intriguing of the two burritos, but it turned out to have way too much greens and extra stuff that tastes great in bibimbap but just throws of the balance of a burrito. Still good but once again, the BBQ was just better composed as a burrito.

I can’t believe that I had never heard of this little Korean-Mexican fusion restaurant until today while browsing Unilocal! One look at its close proximity, reasonable prices, and tasty-looking pictures and I knew I had to try it for dinner. I arrived at about 5:45pm on Thursday to find 2 diners enjoying their meals outside at the clean patio tables. Within the small, empty restaurant, a friendly, older Korean man greeted me and took my order. When I first ordered the spicy chicken burrito, he helpfully told me that the bibimbop burrito would also include traditional bibimbop veggies within for only $ 1 more. I went with his suggestion and also got a tofu taco, spicy pork taco, spicy chicken taco, and K-fries. Don’t judge! I was ordering for 2! He went to the back to call out my order. 1 Korean woman and another Korean man appeared to make the food. While I waited, I chatted with the guy in the front. Surprisingly, they had been open for 7 months already. Again, why had I not heard of them? My order was packed and ready in a little less than 10 minutes. Thank goodness the food was still hot when I got home. Spicy Chicken Bibimbop Burrito($ 8) — Yum! They had pressed the burrito in a panini press so the outside was nice and crisp. Within, there was a generous amount of kimchi fried rice mixed with gochujang(spicy bean paste), chicken, and the sesame(?)-dressed veggies(lettuce, carrots, bean sprouts, and more). It came with a container of hot sauce and sour cream. The burrito could have been spicier, but it’s still sooo good. Tacos — All of the proteins were very well-seasoned and marinated. They were topped with crisp romaine lettuce and some shredded mixed cheeses. I wish they had put a little more thought into the toppings, like some stronger Mexican cheeses or dressed greens instead. Still, they were very tasty and only $ 2.50 each! K-fries — these were a little soggy by the time we got home, but they were generously dusted with a mix of spices. A small container of chili-ketchup was provided. Good, but not mind-blowing. I will definitely be returning in the future and not just because I had promised the owner(?) I would. Fast service, tasty food, good prices, close proximity — who wouldn’t return? I really hope more restaurants like KBBQ Taco(previously BBQ Takorea) open up within a 5 mile radius of Emory. I can’t wait to try their spicy chicken quesadillas, gogi nachos, and KFC wings next time!

Korean-Mexican fusion has risen in popularity the past few years, with my first experience being at Hankook Taqueria. I’d seen this shop a few times while en route to my Decatur restaurant and bar hopping, but never ventured in. The opportunity arose when some friends wanted somewhere to cheap but tasty to grab a quick dinner in Decatur before the Decatur Lantern Festival. The shop has a few large tables for outdoor seating, and not much interior seating. It was a beautiful late spring day so we chose to sit outdoors. The menu is largely written on a huge chalkboard, with similar offerings as Hankook Taqueria. I ordered the taco combo, which was listed on a side chalkboard: two tacos, a side of fries and a drink. I ordered the beef and pork tacos to go with my orange Fanta. The tacos were awesome! The fries, not so much. Never have I wanted less fries in a meal in my life. It was annoying that it took so long for my tacos to be prepared, but I noticed that an older Korean couple prepared the tacos while another Korean man prepared meat in the back kitchen. It’s definitely nice to see more authenticity in the kitchen! I can’t say it is better than Hankook Taqueria, but it is definitely better than Hankook’s sister restaurant, Takorea, hands down.

This is a decent family operated restaurant. It tastes pretty good but not that different from something you can make at home. The tacos were $ 2.50-$ 3 each. They are a good size and tastes good. I particularly like how the tortillas aren’t greasy. They aren’t cooked at all. The Korean style chicken wings were really good(6 piece for $ 8 I think). It comes with fries and a drink. They have a little bit of batter on them but that’s how they’re supposed to be. It’s an old Korean couple that runs it along with a cook. It’s a small store with about 5 stools inside and 4 tables outside. They bring out the order to you when it’s ready. They’re very friendly. It’s a good option especially during lunch. I would recommend this place.

Going with some Unilocaler recommendations — bibim spicy chicken burrito. Not too spicy but verra good. Basically a huge Korean wrap pressed like a panini. I ate half on the spot and half the next day. You get a couple of small tubs with it — one with a nice hot sauce, the other with sour cream. Unless you unwrap the burrito, they’re awkward to use especially if dining in. The hot sauce remedies the ‘not too spicy’ issue, though. Spicy ramyun with tofu — love it. Their version is not the heart attack inducing ramen soup from places like Yakitori Jinbei, which I will eat on my death bed, but rather a healthier-seeming noodle soup. Not very spicy. This one was a take-out, take-home order and I made the mistake of trying to ladle out half of the large container into a bowl. It worked — I had a wonderful bowl of soup to enjoy, but I used up most of the veggies and broth with that first ladling, leaving the second serving as mostly noodles. Good thing I like noodles. Bibimbop tofu — this was for my overworked spouse. She dumped it all into a big bowl, mashed to all together, added Melinda’s XXXX hot sauce and declared it ‘pretty good, maybe too much rice’. Super small space with weird cramped stools crowded up against a narrow shelf along the window. I ate in once but opted for takeout the next time. They do have a sidewalk table. No customers at about noon as I arrived on my first visit, but then a bunch a people showed up, crowding the space a bit. The second visit, I walked in just as the restaurant opened at 11 and walked out with my food ten minutes later without anyone else coming in. So, maybe early is good if you want to get in and out super quickly. Fast service, either way.
