OK so I’m from Cali just relocated to Atl and this movie theater by far is the best movie theater I’ve ever been to. Unlike Cali they serve food not just popcorn, soda and candy. They actually serve chicken and fries didn’t get a chance to try it, noticed it too late but it looked good as hell. They also sell wine. OMG!!! I couldn’t believe it but was glad to see it. They also show the current movies and every Tuesday all day is $ 5. That’s what u call a deal!

First off, i want to say this is worth going to, anytime. they have alot of pros, and a few cons. Pros — small lines(if any), generally friendly atmosphere, and usually you get the theater almost to yourself, with the exception of opening weekends. Its also connected to the mall so you’ve got access to a bunch fo other stores, food courts, etc. and they’ve got nifty tables between seats for your food. Cons — now its a bit weird, on the left hand side, they have HUGE theaters, while on the right hand side the theaters are rather small, like fitting 100 people at the most. So pray for the left theater… the theaters could be cleaned a bit more often, but aside from that… :D

If only more move theaters took the approach to entertainment that Screenworks has adopted: less seats, more options for food, and comfortable seats with small tables for your food. The theater itself is a unique space in Atlanta. High design without the typical neon and reds and purples you get at most movie theaters. There’s a bar with a small stage inside the theater as well. The food isn’t priced quite as badly as most theaters, but the selection is much wider. Sure, the dinner and movie thing isn’t exactly unique, but most of that time it involves tables or servers that are in the way. They did a nice job of integrating the tables into the layout so you’re not stumbling over them. It means less seats for Screenworks, but I actually like the smaller crowds. Definitely worth a shot if you’re looking for a change of pace from the megalopolis sized Regals and AMC’s around town.

Where do I begin? In my two week visit to Atlanta I frequented this theater twice. I was hoping to catch some summer blockbusters, but I hate lines, crowds, and packed theaters. This place was amazing! When I saw Pirates 3, besides my friend and I, there were only two other people in the whole theater. The concession stand sold fancy food, and the service was fantastic. They also had air hockey in an area with other video games near the bathrooms. I went back opening weekend for Harry Potter 5. I was stressed out that we were running too late and it would be sold out. Again, when we entered the theater with 5 minutes before showtime, there were only two other people. Eventually, about six others showed up before the movie started, but there was plenty of space remaining. It’s stadium seating with tables between each pair of chairs so you have plenty of space to put your delicious refreshments upon them. I had a root beer float, my friend ordered a pretzel and the attendant expended a great amount of energy to make sure it was just right. They also had gourmet pizzas, beer, and wine in addition to the normal concession cuisine. The theater was much nicer than the crowded old school theater in Midtown. I watched Sicko there and it was not nearly as clean and parking was difficult and I don’t understand why more people aren’t going to Screenworks 12. Honestly, I do have a guess as to why people might not go to Screenworks, but it has nothing to do with the quality of the theater. It’s a fantastic place to see a movie in comfort and without the stress of a packed cineplex. It has much more to do with self-selected segregation that still exists in our society, and that’s just too bad. While folks wrestle with the lines, I will be having my choice of seats at Screenworks.
