Signature Salon

This place is the worst in Decatur. I went in with a photo and was supposed to have platinum blond hair with funky dark highlights. What I got was brassy yellow hair with a black patch on one side of my head. It looked awful so I had the girl lift out the black and supposedly tone down the yellow. After four hours I said I wanted to go home (it was 9 PM on a Friday night and this was after the stylist rescheduled me for her conflict earlier that week). She says she’ll fix it the next day. So I go in and assume we’ll cover up the mess with highlights. First of all, the assistant manager was incredibly rude as I tried to explain what I wanted, then the stylist had me sit 2 more hours as she attempted to get out more of the black and redo those dark pieces that looked horrible after she stripped it the night before. By the end, I still had fried looking yellow/​orange hair that they made me pay 150 for!!! They had me pay for the product THEY USED TO FIX THEIR OWN HORRIBLE ATTEMPT AT COLORING. When I complained about paying that much for hair that looked awful, they said nothing they could do since I just didn’t like it. I was so angry. I had to go to Studio 7 to get it to look normal again. The stylist there said it was done so poorly she felt bad enough that she didn’t even charge me. Signature Salon has awful customer service and stylists who just don’t have the right skills to be doing basic stuff like color. There are WAY better salons in the area. Avoid.

Wonderful salon! Love my stylist, Lori. The staff is always friendly in person and on the phone. I never feel rushed when I’m there, also have never had to wait long for my appointment. It’s a reasonably priced salon while still feeling very upscale.

By far, the friendliest, cleanest, and best service I have ever received at a salon. I am new the area and would recommend Maggie to anyone!

I am extremely picky about my hair and was terrified to find a new stylist when I moved to Decatur. I even considered driving 3+ hours to see my sister’s stylist over in Indiana! However, on the recommendation of a coworker, I booked an appointment with Lindsey.
To be honest, I wasn’t wild about my first haircut. I asked for a trim (remember, I was nervous), but I ended up not being thrilled with the trim given that my previous cut had been so grown out. I felt like this was my fault though, since I had gotten what I’d asked for. I did like Lindsey a lot though, and I wanted to go back and give her another try.
On my second visit, I took a photo with me and asked her to create! She did a FANTASTIC job and I was sold on her being my stylist from now on. The cut looked fabulous, and the next day I even had a student gasp when she saw me. The cut was easy to style both straight and curly. Lindsey does great hair and I would highly recommend that you let her create a cut for you based on what you like!
I’ve been back a 3^rd time (again, great cut) and will return in a few weeks — can’t wait! Lindsey is a skilled stylist and will create a great cut for you. Don’t hesitate to book with her, even if you’re nervous about trying a new stylist like I was!

Lindsey is the best around! Several family members rely on Lindsey’s magic for keeping us looking good and boy are we a good looking bunch! Women’s, men’s, short, or long… Lindsey is awesome!

I was fortunate enough to find Maggie Potempa shortly after moving to Decatur. She has been so wonderful in helping me get my hair looking great and back to a healthy condition. Maggie goes above & beyond to make sure your experience at Signature Salon is nothing short of perfect. And to top it all off, prices are extremely reasonable! Great experience, great stylist — so happy to have found Maggie! :)

Loved my experience at Signature! Made appointments for my husband and I to get cuts. I had Maggie and he had Jen. From the outside you would not expect the salon to be as large and well-​appointed as it was. We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities our stylists showed us, as well as the Aveda products they carry.
Both stylists really listened to what we wanted and delivered. They were friendly, professional, and easy to chat with. We were happy with the prices and I can’t wait to get back for color and a pedicure.
Being new in town we had a hard time finding a salon we thought could give us the styles we wanted… Signature Salon was perfect and our search has ended :) check them out!

I had a fantastic experience at the salon tonight. I went in hoping just for a cut, but Maggie P. gave the celebrity treatment! She fixed my hair color and gave me a great fresh new cut. We looked at hair cuts in the length we were changing it to and she brighten up my faded DIY hair dye I did months ago. Definitely coming back again, well worth the money spent. I would love to try the rest of the spa experience! Maggie P you are a lifesaver to my much needed neglected hair. :)
