Cheap, fast, and tasty. Glad to have them nearby when I have a craving.

I never write reviews but the lady that picked up the phone when I called to order made me do it now. The first time when I ordered for home delivery I got there food delivered within 10 min. Pretty fast! The second time when I ordered I thought it might take the same amount of time but after 30 min i called up the kitchen to check the status and the lady said it usually takes 45 min and I said that’s fine. Today when I called up the same lady picked up and she was so rude! She said ‘I don’t want any problem this time’? I think the kitchen lacks the basic etiquette of how to speak to their customer. She refused to take my order and hung up on my face. The worst lady I have ever encountered in my life. People should avoid this place as the food isn’t that great to order after hearing from this rude lady.

What a waste of cooking space! Unless you’re desperate for chinese food or don’t have time to research alternatives then avoid this poor example of Chinese food. I judge my chinese food restaurant by the most simple dish to create. If you cant pull that off, the you have no creative cooking talent. Fried Rice. It was basically white rice made brown in color with small pieces of pork. Thats it. No chopped onions or egg or bean sprouts. Totally flavorless. Next was the Mongolian beef and the Moo Shi. Both looked exactly alike with brown sauce. The Mongolian should have been called«container full of sliced onions with a few pieces of beef» The moo shi was meh. Go the the great coffee shop or the greek place instead next door.

I ordered the pu pu platter for one. Crab Rangoon tasted like it was filled with just cream cheese. The chicken wings looked like bat wings, I couldn’t even eat them. The egg roll was filled with mysterious red/pink stuff, and tasted awful. This is the second time I’ve gotten from this place and it’s awful. If you want Chinese, go to West Garden.

After a long day of work, and coming home to do more yard work, my husband and I wanted takeout. After looking at reviews on Unilocal, this place seemed to be the best in the area. We ordered a pupu for 2, and chicken lo mein. I was happy to see a promo when I ordered on here that we got a free small order of crab rangoon. I got my email saying the food would arrived in about an hour, but it actually arrived in 30 mins on a Friday night! Everything was hot, crispy, tender and delicious. We rarely order Chinese food, but when we do, we’ll order from here again!

Delivery or pick up, the food is consistently hot, fresh, and delicious. Every single time. The spring rolls are my absolute favorite. The veggie tempura? Perfect crisp on the outside, delicious veggies underneath that are not at all soggy or greasy. Schezuan chicken? Yes. Please. Spicy Hunan Beef is a must. I’m hungry right now just typing this review up. Best in the area. Hands down. Hungry for Chinese food? Cathay Kitchen is saved and marked as one of my FAVORITES in my contact list. And it should be in your phone, too.

8÷25÷20151pm. It was my first time here and I love it. I had the vegetable Pad Thai. It came out fast and perfect. I met the owner and the service was great. I am here again believe it or not. Lol today it’s 8÷26÷2015 at 1:30pm. I’m having the Thai iced tea and the Thai Ginger Salmon. This business is new and hasn’t started advertising yet but will soon. It’s very convenient being across from the Dedham District Court. It used to be the Courthouse Café. That was great too. The location has good luck with food so far. I suggest it highly. Sometimes standard Americanized Chinese food is like comfort food, but tonight was not one of those times. We didn’t expect gourmet food from Cathay House, of course, but we also didn’t expect to be this disappointed. Truth be told, a couple of the dishes we ordered tasted OK(Boneless Ribs, and Hong Kong Style Chow Mein with Chicken), but everything else was very, very mediocre. The Hot and Sour Soup was arguably the worst I’ve ever had(and I’ve consumed many gallons of this over the course of my gastronomic career). The soup was very thin — almost watery — in texture, dark brown in color(like it was colored with a lot of soy sauce), and contained some tasteless ground meat(not sure if it was beef or pork) plus a few pieces of very soft tofu as the only discernible ingredients. We had some extra soup left in the container after serving up everyone’s portions, but no one wanted seconds. We then had the Boneless Ribs. As I mentioned, these were fine — not anything near amazing but not overtly bad, and it was a large portion for the price. So one thumb up for that dish. After that, we had the Hong Kong Chow Mein with Chicken, Shrimp and Lobster Sauce, and Pork Fried Rice. The only one of those dishes that was even remotely tasty was the Chow Mein, and that dish earns only one thumb up at best. I’d advise staying away from the other two altogether(I’d actually advise staying away from this restaurant entirely, but if you do wind up here, be pre-warned that the Shrimp and Lobster Sauce has that same watery texture, same brown color, same ground meat, and not many shrimp. The Pork Fried Rice was similarly brown in color, with tiny and rather scant pieces of basically tasteless pork mixed in. There was something amiss with the rice itself as well — possibly cooked using too much water so it was kind of mishy and mushy. The portion size was generally quite large for all the dishes, so we now have to face the dilemma of either choosing to have a very unmemorable dinner(or two) of leftovers in a day or two, vs throwing out quite a bit of food. We are a thrifty family but the disposal might just get fed this time around. Yes, it was that unimpressive. The woman behind the counter, though, was very pleasant. I really wanted this food to taste better than it did, but alas, that was not to be. For those Unilocalers who think this is great Chinese food, I beg to disagree — this food is neither great nor is it Chinese. Please come visit Vancouver — the Chinese food there will blow your tastebuds(in a good way!) — or just go downtown to Boston’s Chinatown(Beach and Kneeland).

The food was always okay at best but recently I ordered a delivery and it was missing an item. I called and they insisted that I had received it but I most certainly had not. They refused to credit me the item and I will never, ever come back.

Absolutely the best Chinese food I have ever had. I am selective when it comes to Chinese food. Too many times I have found myself ordering out and getting Chinese food that is too oily, and not so tasty. For the past 5 years I have been ordering from Cathay Kitchen and it is by far the best Chinese food around. I seldom order anywhere else. Never oily! Always fast and service is good.

Outstanding food and service. We always order too much, but it all heats back up great! The pupu platter for two will not disappoint. Don’t close down!

For being a cheaper chinese restaurant this place is fantastic. Delivery service is extremely fast & the owner is a riot — he ends up delivering a lot of our orders and comes in and chats. The only bad dish we’ve encountered so far has been the walnut shrimp — pretty sure what’s ever in it is deisgned to give you give you a heart attack. The steamed tofu w/veggies is a favorite.

I like chinese food as much as other people do and I tried this place because it was close and I had a craving. The price isn’t bad and it’s comparable to other places I’ve been. The food however isnt bad but could use a some more flavor. Im not sure if its the oil the use or what but definitely needs a more flavor. The chicken wings and fingers were good, the crab ragoon was a little over done, the rice tated more like uncle bens or rice a roni, pork strips were a little over cooked but not bad. I went on a Saturday around noon, they just opened and so that may have made a difference. I might visit again.

Five stars even though I have only had their pad thai with tofu. But it was the most delicious version of pad thai tofu I have ever had, so that’s gotta be worth something.

Fresh, fast, delicious I’m surprised to see the bad reviews. The quality varies some, but not by much, and that’s true everywhere. The fried rice is sometimes dry, but I have never found the food greasy – my usual complaint about Chinese food. The food portions are large and the prices reasonable. They give coupons on the menu for freebies, so be sure to request a new menu each time. I always get the General Gao’s chicken or tofu, amazing sauce. They don’t put chili peppers in it like some restaurants, which I actually prefer, but use chili paste, but it’s still good. The Udon noodles with Seafood is addictive, full of scallops, shrimp, calamari and laced with lemongrass and basil. They have good appetizer platters as well, I like the crab rangoon and chicken fingers. The hot and sour soup is amazing. The orange chicken is good as well.

The menu of this place boasts a lot of selections and they all sounded good, but when the food arrived for the price I would have expected better. I am not sure I have ever had Chinese food that was so bland I had to add salt. The fried rice and even the cashew chicken were tasteless and just boring. Even after adding soy sauce it didn’t help. The only thing tht was good was the chicken fingers but how could you screw those up? Then again, how could you screw fried rice up. In this neighborhood there are 4 other places that are much better choices than this place so I would say skip it!

This our go-to Chinese restaurant. I always get the #21, General Gaus chicken combo. It can be somewhat inconsistent in how«saucy» it is, or how crispy it is or is not. We always specify white rice, as we are not fans of pork fried rice. A few times we have ended up with pork-fried even though we asked for white. Appetizers are the usual, but very good. If you want to eat-in, they have plenty of seating, unlike a lot of chinese take-outs where there is usually just 2 sad booths or tables.

It pains me to write a negative review for what appears to be a family-owned restaurant that’s just getting started in a bad economy, but I found the food to be overpriced and not very good, and it seems that the problems could be fixed relatively easily. I stopped in here for lunch one day and ordered the General Gao tofu and a side of brown rice. I was a little confused when they asked me if I wanted a small or a large, since the menu seems to indicate that this dish only comes in the large size, but I asked for a small when given a choice. Also, rice is not included, so I had to order an extra side of it. The tab was just under $ 13 – a little steep for one vegetarian entrée and some rice, but at that point there was nothing to be done for it. The portion size was absolutely ridiculous – easily enough food for three people. Unfortunately, the quality was not great. The sauce was gloppy and sort of congealed, although the tofu was nicely crispy and the flavor wasn’t bad. The tofu came on top of some broccoli, although I would have appreciated a little more broccoli and a little less tofu. Also, the brown rice appeared to have been instant, Uncle Ben-variety. I would have happily traded a smaller portion size for better quality. In general, I am not likely to return.
