What a cute, janky, handcrafted, artisanal, local book store.
When I went in they were just opening at 3:30, looked like a teen gang of super Awsome comic book fan girls putting out books, feeding hamsters, feeding turtles, dealing with a bug that flew in… They all seemed so responsible and nice and also cool like I wanted to watch bad movies with them and go camping with them and but also give them advice and bake them cookies.
I’ve rarely experience such good customer service from teens in this town who usually seem privileged and snotty, like their parents are forcing them to work to learn a lesson before they go off to Yale to learn corporate overlord-​ism. Not these lovely Teens, «hello, have a good day» and «excuse me, pardon» etc. Shockingly sweet.
Stacks of books EVERyWHERe and cozy chairs with vintage gramma knit afghans, a kids section with vintage 1970s tiger wall hangings that gave me trippy flashbacks to the corduroy era.
Win win win… This is meant to be a compliment so read it as praise: It’s like a nerdy teenager and a cranky hoarder old man join forces to create a super brain bookstore!
