let me start off by saying, i have always gone to Cattle Drive if I was in the mood for good smoked BBQ at least 7 years. It has been awhile since I have eaten here and lets say, the thrill is gone. What once was a place for good fix of smoked meat that can only be achieve in Texas, has become a bleek love of the food they serve. I always get the 3 meat and my better half orders turkey salad. 3 meat choice ribs, fatty sliced beef, and sausage side well that is just fog of war. The cuts of rib given to me had very little smoke flavor and has been sitting in a hot drawer what i remember the ribs should be dry, but in this instance in an earlier time they where sauced to keep wet but since they sat it dried on top of rib in to a slush like paste. The ribs had a luke warm temp with a oven dried finish. didnt pull from rib like you would expect. The brisket had no bark/bite the whole reason i go to Cattle Drive, had dryness to the meat the lead me to believe it was left in to long or not enough customers to cut fresh smoked meat. Sausage, well room temp at best but all in all, it has been the same. My better half ordered turkey salad and well it was a salad(who orders that at a meat locker). anywho, she ordered turkey while it wasnt horrible, it had no smoke bit or flavor, just salty meat as if we ordered a thick cut of turkey from a deli slicer. Staff seemed to be bothered even though we where the only customers at the time. All and all it was not shale i say night ending, but un-satisfied. To have such a long history in Deer Park and to slowly give up to other popping up around the area. I hope they get back on the wood and keep smokin.

This review is strictly on their catering service… We had a Thanksgiving luncheon catered for about maybe 80 people so we ordered turkey platters of course. The food was delicious, maybe the best Thanksgiving lunch we’ve had in years. The turkey was nice and super tender, rolls amazingly good and fluffy and the mashed potatoes were out of this world. Yes, I know I sound like a fatty but I’m really not exaggerating, everyone else agreed. lol The service is what cost them –2 stars. First of all they were about a half hour late, which is not too too bad. When the food did arrive, they literally dropped the bags of food on the tables(and on the floor when they ran out of table space) and left! They brought unsweet tea and lemonade but no ice, lemon, sugar ect. Our staff took the food plates out and set them on the tables and served hot tea and lemonade. We may give them a second chance since we loved their food but I hope they step it up on their service.

First of all they deliver which is a HUGE plus! We are about 10 miles away from the restaurant if not more and they will deliver and they are fairly fast at it too. They have really good grilled chicken salads, potato salad, Mac and cheese and their baked potatoes are really good. They must make their ranch dressing because it is to die for.

Awesome homemade style mac and cheese, potato bake and BBQ sauce. I can’t stand places that use fake, overly sweet dark red garbage BBQ sauce. I had the BBQ baked potato and the sauce was slightly sweet, garlicky and had a slight tang. I will definitely come back!

They deliver! Get a 3 meat plate with BBQ chicken, sliced beef, and sausage. You get two sides and will love the potato salad and Mac & cheese. It’s definitely enough for two. This place is a gem and the delivery is ridiculously fast. Forget the pizza and go for Cattledrive BBQ instead.

Once again, food just not what it should be for barbecue. More grease in the chopped beef than there is bbq sauce. Too much spices in the meat. Potato salad, once again, so bland that I don’t think any seasonings will help it. The unsweet iced tea tastes funny. Half plates are a joke, lucky to have anything on those. When ordering, I asked for a half plate, I was asked if I wanted bread. Um, in the past you always have. … just in the past you ashed what kind. Tried to give them another chance, but since last owner and last time I was here, it gas gotten worse.

This is the best BBQ in the Deer Park area and an original. I prefer this to Brisket House slightly. Unlike BH, Cattle Drive has a back room that is often quiet and good for conversation.

Their coleslaw was great and their potato salad was good but the bbq chicken was dry. I was a little disappointed in the chicken.

It’s pretty good BBQ. They have new management. I think the place is the cleanest it has ever been. I love raw onions with my BBQ. They could work on the 3 day old onions.

I have no complaints about the food, the food is good and coupled with the fact that it’s close is enough to warrant a trip to this place every so often. My only gripe is that the service is pretty terrible. Every time I come in I get the sense I’m inconveniencing the group of kids working there and I don’t get a thank you, or any kind of service really beyond what’s required. Other than that I would recommend this place to someone passing through.

Cold sausage, average brisket, stale bread and a bland potato salad(owners grandma recipe, lol… Came from a plastic tub). Girl working has the personality of a doorknob. Apparently me coming in at 1 in the afternoon was a major inconvenience as the staff had just sat down for lunch. Go elsewhere for BBQ!
