They are no longer located inside City Pub!!! I was in a rush and the waitress told me that they still used all the same ingredients and had the same person cooking in the back, so I have it a shot. The meat and cheese wasn’t bad but the break was cold like they had it in the freezer and didn’t give it enough time to thaw. DONTLETTHEMFOOLYOU! Only reason I am giving 3 stars is because I never got a chance to try the real cheesesteak from Philly so I don’t want to ruin there average. Hope to find where they went now.

I heard about Direct From Philly a year ago but never made it up to Deerfield beach however today I had a meeting for work and stopped in to see what everybody is talking about. At first site, I was a little skeptical because it’s located inside a hole in the wall bar. So, I ordered a cheesesteak whiz wit and as soon as it arrived I could smell greatness. The first bite was unbelievable! The bread was warm and really soft. I think I polished off this steak in 10 minutes and that’s not because it’s small but because it was so delicious. I invite anybody who is a cheesesteak lover to make sure you try Direct From Philly. I will definitely be back!

The name says it all. They get it perfect from the rolls to the Herrs potato chips. Both of their locations have been a little off the beaten track, but good food wins out always.

A– This place was hard to find, now that it’s in the City Pub. I guess we were a little turned off by the location — run down strip mall, dark nearly-empty bar, people getting drunk on vodka at noon. B– The cheesesteak itself was just ok. While it was large, the meat was stringy and chewy. C– Apparently because it’s primarily a bar, $ 3.00 for a soda should be expected(?) Summary — While the food is ok, it’s location makes it seem like an afterthought. I suppose it’s a step up from a gas station though. In this case, atmosphere trumped food; we’ll go elsewhere.

Great cheesesteaks! Pick up orderers beware, they only take cash but don’t tell you that when you call in. They also exaggerate the size of the fries. Ordered 2 orders of their ½lb size of fries, got closer to ¼lb each.

I’ve eaten here a few times when they were in the Chevron gas station and it was much better then. Not sure what changed.

An update was needed because it’s been awhile since I experienced what a real Philly cheesesteak tasted like in Florida. Let’s get the obvious out of the way. The new location isn’t exactly welcoming. It has the charm of the Mos Eisley Cantina. On most days, you find your degenerates pre-partying here before they head over to the Porthole Pub or the dog track. It’s dark and desolate inside. But if I keep subjecting myself to this then there has to be a good reason. That reason is the amazing cheesesteaks that Direct From Philly continues to deliver. Everything is authentic, from the bread, to the meat to the wiz. So if you opt to eat your sandwich there, it might be interesting while you’re waiting. You may even fall into a deep depression but the moment you’re sandwich is ready, all that is wrong in this world disappears. Steve & co are great at what they do and they truly appreciate their customers. That can’t be said about most sandwich shops, let alone those that specialize in making 100% authentic Philly cheesesteaks.

Love the cheese steaks from this place. No other place that has cheese steaks on their menu can compare. It’s soooo damn good. Whenever I’m getting that craving, I order from here and have it delivered. I usually get the one with fries already added inside the Philly cheese steak. Definitely recommend this place if you wanna have good Phillies. Service is okay, located inside a bar that’s not so great looking or eye pleasing.

When you want an artery-clogging hangover cure, this place is at the top of my list! All of their cheese steaks are amazing, the steak is juicy and there cheese wiz is very authentic! My girlfriend and I can’t pass up loaded cheese fries, so when we saw they had«da bomb» fries on the menu with all the fixings PLUS their epic cheese sauce, ordering that was a no brainer. And believe me, they are worth the few years they might knock off your lifespan!

Simply put… The BEST cheesesteak south of the Mason-Dixon Line. Just no two ways about it. They ship down everything including the amoroso rolls. Which is essential for a true cheesesteak. My first cheesesteak was from Pats in Philly(the creator of the cheesesteak) when I was 8 years old. Born in Philly. I know this food. This place, I kid you not, rivals the taste of Pats. That’s a big deal.

One of the best, most authentic cheesesteaks I have had in South Florida, also one of the most messy. The ambiance is a straight up bar, it is hard to locate the business if you are driving around looking for it. The to-go packaging was inadequate for the amount food I was wrestling with.

Found out about this place from a buddy at work. Being that it was across the street from our office I decided to give it a shot. First of all location, wow. Direct takes the term«hole in the wall,» to another level. It’s in the back of a bar called«city pub» more specifically it’s in a 1′ by 3′ rectangular cut out of the wall, awesome. When I’m going for a cheesesteak I don’t require much ambiance. For those who think this is a «bad» location, get over it and just enjoy your steaky, cheesy goodness, because they DEFINITELY do have that. Service was awesome, I was just getting it to go, so I went directly to the«hole» to order. There I met Steve, after letting him know it was my first time he took some time in letting me know what makes their cheesesteaks stand out, like the 100+ year old bakery in Philly he orders the bread from and unique blend of steak he uses. By this point I’m sold and order one«whiz wit» and five minutes later I’m heading back to the office. Food in hand and high expectations in mind… Damn, did they deliver! First off let me say I’m not a cheesesteak expert, I am not from Philly, and I’m definitely not an eagles fan. Moving on… When reviewing food I have to take into mind what I’m actually eating, in this case it was simple, bread and meat.(We all know or should know what whiz and onions taste like) in that respect it was very simple. The meat itself was full of flavor, not like any cheesesteak I’ve ever had! And the bread?! I don’t know if I should feel weird about this but it was almost my favorite part! I have never been more impressed with combination of TYPE of bread and fillings. Soft enough to bite clean through but somehow hardy and spongy enough to soak up all the extra fats and cheese. What else can I say? It was good. All in all I’m gonna be honest, this isn’t a great first date spot, their are no nice candles on the tables or waiters with silver trays and bow ties. What Direct DOES have is just a great damn cheesesteak with a personable staff. Will definitely be back soon… if not today.

O LAWDJEEZUS. The food here is amazing. There is nothing I love more than cheese fries with bacon bits dipped in ranch & the cheese fries here exceed any cheese fries I’ve ever ordered in my lifetime. My go to are«da bomb» fries which come covered in a ton of bacon, cheese wiz, and ranch. So good. Also the cheesesteaks are killer hangover food. Well basically killer in general. Definitely eat here!

Direct from Philly is now located in The City Pub on the corner of SW10th street and Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach. I tried a DELICIOUS Philly cheese steak with American cheese and onions. I was impressed with the generous size of the sandwich, it was really thick and they used foot long rolls! The great thing about this sandwich is the soft Italian rolls they use. Direct From Philly also uses top quality steak packed well in the roll but with the roll being a foot long, this sandwich should make the average person full! The onions were cooked well, chopped, and mixed with the steak and American cheese. For an extra kick, I ordered Italian hot peppers. This was the highlight of the meal. Definitely going back again and again! They offer delivery now too!

I’ve been coming to Direct From Philly since they first came on the scene. The location has changed but the quality and service haven’t.
