An ice cream shop that delivers??? Hell yes!!! Where have they been all my life? Why aren’t there more ice cream ships like this? I had German chocolate cake and dutch apple pie. Very rich flavors! I totally should have had one scoop but I couldn’t help myself. Change your life by going here.

The ice cream(Cappuccino chip, in particular) is the reason to go. I don’t like their baked goods. The price keeps me from becoming a regular.

This is a great place to stop by after dinner or if you want a tasty treat. It’s almost right across the street from the NIU campus and is within walking distance of many of the surrounding restaurants. The ice cream is great, but I would say that the prices are a little high — especially for a bowl of ice cream. I’d still return.

Ice cream delivered is something so good it should be illegal. I’ve ordered from Sunshine Scoop twice recently and was blown away by the quality and the flavors. So why isn’t this a five-star review? First, the prices are pretty steep. There is a $ 3 delivery charge ONTOPOF a $ 9 minimum order for delivery. While I understand delivery charges and minimum orders, this is ridiculous since most of the delivery locations are probably going to be on-campus, less than a five minute drive. If you have two pints of ice cream delivered(with a tip), like I have twice, this will cost you a bit over $ 20… which is simply not a fair price. Second, both deliveries took between 30 – 40 minutes, which is outrageous considering the $ 3 delivery charge and that the drive from the Junction to my dorm takes no longer than three minutes. Next time, I think I’d rather just walk.

They have great ice cream, fond of the red velvet ice cream in their amazing cones. I do not like however, buying 1 of each of their 5 cookies, to see that 3 of them were burnt underneath and tasted mediocre but not good enough to finish more than a bite. Hopefully I don’t experience this every time but I won’t buy another cookie, I come simply for the red velvet ice cream. Service is fine and nothing is wrong with it.

I’m ashamed of myself, that it has taken me a few visits to review Sunshine, after all ice cream is the greatest food in the whole wide universe, I must have been suffering brain freeze. First to be an ice cream parlor worth 5 starts ya gotta have ice cream pies not cake, pie!!! It clearly states in the Scottie Bear dictionary of food the definition of a 5 star ice cream parlor ‘sells ice cream pies’ Anyway, what finally prompted this review is when my forever sweeter then ice cream bride and I went there this past Saturday with my brother, I must of really looked cute, cuddly and all those other mushy adjectives because she let didn’t say ‘I could only have a 2 scoop cup, which is for babies, but a whole firkin quart of the Hershey’s extreme chocolate, are you drooling yet, ‘ha-ha I got Hershey’s ice cream and you don’t nana nana nana nuh’ and but she also let me get a turtle ice cream pie, no not turtle as in reptile, but as in a whole bunch of yum yum 4da tum tum stuff mixed in with ice cream. Christmas in April! Yippee!!! Yahoo!!! Let’s be honest there are some things that have ice cream on the package but its actually yucky gooey stuff. Not so at SSS&B it’s Hershey’s, Hershey’s just ain’t a chocolate candy bar or kiss kiss stuff, its ‘as good as life gets’ ice cream. As for those things like ambiance SSS&B is average but come on it’s an ice cream parlor you want comfy leather seats go to a cigar parlor. The service was top notch too/The lady apologized for the time it took her to pack up my quart of ice cream as in Hershey’s Extreme Chocolate ice cream but for iHershey’s Extreme Chocolate ice cream one waits the few minutes. If it was yucky veggies she was packing, I’m gone after 5 seconds but for Hershey’s Extreme Chocolate ice cream, ya wait. As for the out the door on SSS&B? Don’t go out the door, stay there until they ask you to leave and enjoy the greatest food in the while wide universe.

Finally a real ice cream shop in DeKalb! Great selection and service. Pie was delicious, not much selection there. The owner explained the baked goods are to compliment the ice-cream which makes sense to me. We were there on a 99 cent kiddie come day which will earn our return business!

It’s really tough to mess up ice cream. I did not try the bakery, so I can only speak for the ice cream. I was here on two separate occasions. The first time I ordered a 2 scoop waffle cone, and the second time I ordered a sundae. The ice cream is very good. It’s compressed so there is minimal air in the ice cream, meaning more good stuff for all of us. The prices are higher than I’d like, and they aren’t quite as good as Ollie’s in Sycamore, but their location is closer to campus. The owners seem nice, and they also deliver! Not quite sure how it works, though. I’ll give it another shot in the future.

Pretty solid place, one star off for prices being a little steep. The owners seem very friendly. I love how they have Hershey’s Ice Cream, I got a waffle cone with a scoop of turtle and a scoop of German chocolate and it was very good. My brother got the same, but instead coconut almond and birthday cake. We would probably go back, but he graduates tomorrow! Also, great website, but how about listing the flavors avaliable as well? I know they are probably constantly changing, but maybe a «flavor of the day» calendar coudl promote some more business?
