I have been here four times over the last couple months. Each time I ordered a different omelette. Each time was better than the last and this place upholds all my expectations. I hope they never close and I hope to see all the staff stay because this experience was simply my favorite. I don’t write reviews generally, however this was so good I could not help going through the trouble to ensure someone else knows about this. Thank you Hamburger Inn! Indu Rajagopalan

Great place!!! Burgers were cooked just right and juicy. Onion Rings and fried mushrooms were fresh and the batter was good and crunchy. Our server was Noël and she was fantastic. Kept checking on us and refilling our drinks. I had ice tea and it tasted fresh also. I highly recommend this spot.

Love the lunch counter feel. Good food, open 24 hours(Wednesday thru Saturday), nice classic diner feel. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area. Western burger was delicious.

If you haven’t had their cinnamon buns, you have not lived yet! They are that good! Super great staff. They make you feel like family.

Walked in sat down. Waitress asked for our drink order. We said water with lemon. That must’ve stumped her because she never came back. She did help the 3 men sitting at the counter across from us and tended to getting them to go cups for their beverages. So we left and headed to another establishment. Don’t bother going unless you’re a local or regular.

Reallllllly cool 24 hour diner in Delaware. It’s a lot of drunk college students after hours, which is expected. But the food is awesome, so going during the day even when sober is a good idea. I got the blue cheese burger and waffle fries. Uhmazing. Their milkshakes are also delish with the perfect amount of thickness Also, do recommend the cinnamon rolls. Just go here if you want to eat your feelings. Trust me, you’ll feel better.

The hamburger inn was a great experience with excellent food. Krystal was our server and she went above and beyond to make sure we had tip top customer service. I can’t wait to go back!

Needing some food and a place to take shelter from the blistering cold of the Delaware Arts Festival, we came upon this place. First, the negative. Except for when the patio section is open(and it was, but no one want’s to sit outside when it’s 40 degrees) all of the seating is counter seating, so you need to wait until enough stools open up next to one another, which can be problematic for parties larger than 4. Aside from that, the food was amazing. I had the ½ lb. hangover burger. The burgers are very basic, thin, greasy spoon burgers. And that’s what makes them fantastic. There’s no need to gussy them up. Patty, cheese,(and for the hangover, egg and bacon) and a bun. That’s all you need. I wish I had known that you had to order the fries separately as I would’ve liked to have tried them, but it was probably a good thing I didn’t as I also ordered the buckeye shake. Easily one of the best milk shakes I’ve ever had. There was real peanut butter in the shake!(This led to the odd cycle of drinking the shake and then being thirsty and needing to drink something, like the shake.) The shakes are huge and could easily be a meal by themselves. Definitely a place to hit if you’re in Delaware, OH, though I would recommend going during non-peak times.

Great food reasonably priced, great service thanks Emily, Had the mushroom bacon burger with fries Mary had cheeseburger and fries fresh brewed ice tea. Desert was chocolate cream pie and fresh strawberry pie every thing was made fresh and all was delicious, easy to see why they’ve been around since 1932. Our waitress Emily had only been there 4 days but was very polite and attentive, again great job Emily. Dan & Mary Bowers.

Chef Mike goes above and beyond for customers! I have a soy allergy and he always takes care of me! He makes soy-free variations of my favorite foods to accommodate my diet and I just love him for it! We have become regulars thanks to Mike and the amazing staff at the Hamburger Inn.

My faïence and I experienced love at first bite, thanks to Shelly and Mike. They helped us navigate some tricky allergies and gave us a dining experience that we will not forget. Between the great food(steak and eggs, cheese burger) and the exceptional service, I see us becoming regulars!

I had heard about this place from some friends of ours. It was a rainy day and we decided to take the short trip up to Delaware to see what the Hamburger Inn hype was all about. When we came in, the place was empty, but we were quickly greeted by our server Tesa, who was a true gem! My husband and I told her we had never been there before, and she gave us a quick background of the restaurant. It was super cool to think we were sitting at the same counter that folks ate at in the 40’s. Tesa gave us all kinds of recommendations which was so awesome. We split the waffle bacon cheddar tray, which was good. I got a dinner special-shrimp and avocado quesadilla, my husband got the hangover burger platter. Let me tell you a little bit about my husband. He likes his burgers thick and juicy, with nothing but more meat and cheese. I did not think he would like these thin patties. Tesa asked how he would like the burger cooked and he said medium. We even talked about how they were going to overcook the burger while it was being made. But low and behold, he took his first bite and was blown away! The thin burgers were indeed cooked to medium which I really do believe takes some major ninja grill skills. Hats off to you, HI for serving a stellar burger. We were debating on whether to get one of the last 5 cinnamon rolls, when some folks that came in after us bought them all. But it was Tesa to the rescue! She came by and told us not to fret-they had a few more in the back! We chose to get it grilled with ice cream. The maple glaze is what makes this roll shine! Next time I will try it heated up soft and gooey. Very long story short, eat here! The food is awesome, but the service makes it the best! Ask for Tesa!

My Dad, Uncle, and I used to come here when I was a kid and it was a greasy, smokey, hole in the wall… I loved every visit. I have moved 2300 miles away but still come and visit every time I am home. It has been upgraded over the years but the food is still great. I hope my boys feel the same way about this place as I did.

Strike one: there was a Roach on the wall, the winter type, caramel colored. strike two: a customer lifted his omelette to discover the burnt underside. strike 3: omelette only comes with toast or biscuits. It was late Saturday morning and there was a 5 – 10 wait for seating. I wanted breakfast. So ordered the western omelette anyway. As someone previously described it was more like scrambled eggs, cooked hard, with some raw veggies added. unremarkable. ditto for olé boy’s mushroom omelette. But, the biscuit was good. Dense & fluffy. Glad we didn’t order a side of the hash browns. They were the type that comes out of a carton, not the ground. With a cup of tea, tab was $ 20.We should have ordered the burgers. They looked tasty, as others have attested to. I love a great greasy spoon or diner IF the food is good. I wouldn’t say that is the case here. On the other hand, the service was above average and appreciated. But that isn’t reason enough to come back.

UNSANITARY. COOKSDIDNOTCHANGEGLOVESAFTERHANDLINGRAWMEAT. My friend and I were driving through the area and stopped by for a bite to eat. We love supporting local mom & pop places so Hamburger Inn seemed perfect. As we’re waiting for our food(two ¼lb Hangover burgers) we observed the two cooks wearing the same gloves and touching everything. I saw the older cook put some raw burger patties on the grill, then grabbed some onions from the lettuce/toppings section without changing gloves. Since they were being sauteed I thought ok, maybe it’s differentiated from onions that are put on burgers. Then I saw the younger cook put on some raw burger patties, holding the patty in one hand and using the other to pull off the paper divider. After putting out 6 of them he then went to the burgers that were sitting and waiting to be sent out, grabbed one of them, walked to the lettuce/toppings station and 1) took the top bun off, grabbed lettuce and pull apart a section, put it on the burger, then put the top bun back on, and 2) grabbed some fries with the same gloves and put it into the basket. I was about to ask if my friend saw that and before I could, he immediately told me: «we are NOT eating those burgers, they’ve been contaminated.» We asked for our food to go, paid the check, then threw the burgers out at the nearest trash can. I hope the owner reads this and see that this is corrected. With that many cross contamination, and how«usual» it seemed, this can’t be an isolated incidence that we witnessed. Maybe the locals have iron stomachs, who knows. But I refuse to put that into my body. And there were young kids eating too.

Great food with no tricks about it. Grab some fantastic breakfast grub to start your day or get your hands on a stack of burgers meant to satisfy. Every meal I’ve bought is filling and delicious. Sitting is diner style around the counter. Service is quick and friendly. Food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. If you live in Delaware or go to OWU, you will definitely be here more than a few times.

Unfortunately our most recent visit has led me to amend my star rating based on a general lack of cleanliness. Yes, it was a busy(and very humid) Sunday but I would love to see the place and it’s rather dusty ceiling fans, and grubby foot steps(is there a proper term for them?) be refreshed. That being said, our breakfast was still good, and our server very sweet and attentive!
