Had BBQ pork and garlic mash. The mash and meat were good, bit the BBQ sauce was insipid and the service was a little strange. Definitely would give another try though.

oh, yum! this is certainly the only place i take out of town guests for dinner in Delhi! i ordered their sweet potato quesadilla years ago and was so impressed that i now make it regularly at home. the only problem with that is that when i go there now, i don’t want it as much and there’s not much else to choose from if you’re a vegetarian who doesn’t like mushrooms… and there’s no kids menu.

I had the opportunity a couple of years ago to move to the Catskills and work in a retreat center not far from Delhi. This center only had a vegetarian kitchen which was great for my health and my waistline, but segregated me from one thing. MEAT! Enter Quarter Moon Café. This work of art in the middle of small-town diners and fast food restaurants makes coming to Delhi worth it. The décor is gorgeous with dark mid-reds in the bar and spring-like greens in the dining room. Candle light on the tables makes the room glow beautifully in the evenings. The servers are very professional and know the menu inside and out. The food at Quarter Moon is sourced locally, in fact, if you eat meat there, you probably drove by the cow it came from in the past two weeks. They serve the local standbys like chicken, pork and beef but also shake things up with treats such as venison and fresh seafood from New York City. In season they source eggs, veggies, and just about everything else locally as well. Their fresh pastas are to die for. They start evey meal with their fresh-made herbed focaccia which they serve with a small plate full of what I can only refer to as LOVE. It is a mix of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic aioli and Sriracha hot chili sauce. It may sound funky, but try it. It is heaven! Their food is done well and I’ve had many things on the menu. One of my favorite is the chorizo and bleu cheese stuffed hamburger. Yes you read that correctly! And it is sooooooo good! I’ve never had a bad meal there. Check it out when you’re driving through the Catskills some time.

This place is really good. It has a great atmosphere and a better menu. The fact that this place is stuck in Delhi, where good food is hard to find easily makes it a 5 star restaurant. The menu is varied but everything you eat there some how feels like it fits. I think the key at this place is the great ingredients they begin with; every chance they have they are using local ingredients and when they aren’t local they are organic or all natural. The chef does just enough to the food to take it from hearty and natural to eloquent and amazing. The service is very good and the while the prices are a little steeper then might be expected the food makes it worth it. This place also has the best selection of beer/wine/liquor that can be found within 60 miles. If every you find yourself lost in this rural town make sure to eat here.
