Monical’s Pizza

My wife and I ride our bikes on the trails over at Canal park. When we finish we meet my mom and my sister at Monical’s for the «family special». A couple delicious pizzas and a very nice salad. And!!! We have plenty left over to take home.

I’ve come to this location annually for several years now as part of a large group retreat at nearby Camp Tecumseh. We splurge a bit and eat dinner off-​site one night. Monical’s has been a long standing tradition with our organization.
The thin crust pizza is memorable and something we look forward to every year. With a large variety of toppings and speciality pizzas (the barbecue chicken is a favorite), everyone leaves happy. Service is consistently good as well.
The salad leaves a little to be desired — iceberg lettuce, an abundance of shredded cheese, and tomatoes — but the French dressing is legendary.
They recently renovated this location, ditching some outdated wall hangings and tchotchkes for a cleaner, more modern look. I did a double-​take when I walked in, not sure I was in the right place.
All in all, it’s a great local pizza place, and worth the stop if you’re in the area.
