I had their fried shrimp. They’re hand breaded. fried to order. they were big succulent not greasy and served with a spicy mayo. Best fried shrimp I’ve had in a long time. I can’t wait to come back and try their ribs. They have a smoker and BBQ out side and they smelled wonderful. I will update this after I have the ribs

Fantastic little spot on the edge of Delray gentrification. Fried shrimp is the best! 7 Good sized shrimp with a light flavorful batter and 2 sides for like 8 bucks??? Are you kidding me? I could walk a .25 mile and pay 3 times that price and not get near the quality. Also I always love to support local family owned businesses. Go check these guys out. You won’t be sorry.

The biggest downside is that this place is filthy, just down right dirty. We walked in with blinders on and ordered at the counter. Once we sat down and looked around, and visited the bathroom, we were really tempted to just leave even though we had already paid. We decided to stay and I said a little prayer that the conditions in the kitchen were better and that we wouldn’t get horrible food poisoning. On to the food… the fried conch«crack conch» was actually pretty good, as were the fried shrimp. I can’t say we were wowed by any stretch of the imagination. Frying food isn’t exactly complicated. The collard greens were disappointing as was the slaw. I would have gotten the ribs but they were not baby back ribs and anything other is a no go for me. It should have been fair warning that we’d be disappointed by the fact there were no cars in the lot and zero other patrons the whole time we were there.(We arrived at prime lunch time, about 12:15pm on a week day.) We picked the place because of 4.5 overall stars on Unilocal.Yelppers– you failed us

As you drive up to Dee Dee’s Shack, you might be inclined to pass it up. After all, Delray Beach is a mecca of fine dining and highly-rated establishments, and this place has some sketchy patrons, but if you’re looking for no-frills soul food, you have come to the right place. As I mentioned, pay no attention to the patrons, who may look like they came out of the«faces of Wal-Mart» website, and just pay attention to the menu board on the wall. While Dee Dee’s offers many options, it mostly boils down to a mix of seafood and Southern cooking. Once you come here, you will forget that you’re in South Florida, and will instead think that you’re somewhere in the deep south. The way this place operates is by ordering at the counter, giving your name, and then sitting down until you’re called. Since the J.T. Special was large enough to share, according to the young lady behind the register, my friend and I decided to go with that. With this combo, you get three different options, plus a side of fries. My friend, being a big red-meat eater, decided to go with the ribs, and I went with the cracked conch and the fish(which, based on the filet cut and texture, I can positively identify as Tilapia). We waited for some time for the food, but it was worth it. Sure enough, this container was quite large. We split everything up and munched on the seasoned fries, which were tasty but not overly salty, as most seasoned fries tend to be. The fish was also tasty, considering I don’t much care for Tilapia. It was seasoned and had a bit of a Cajun tinge to it. My friend remarked that he loved the fish, which by the way, is surprising considering he’s not much of a fish fan. The cracked conch was also very tasty, and not too chewy, compared to other occasions where I have eaten cracked conch elsewhere. The ribs were doused with a sauce that was tasty, and the meat itself was quite tender. Best of all, after eating here, I was not hungry for another 8 hours. Though this place seems to be more of a takeout joint, they certainly have a few tables for those wanting to eat in the establishment. They do not have plates, only styrofoam containers, and all their silverware is plastic, so if these are things that bother you, then you may want to move on. It’s also not recommended for a date night, unless you’re with a low-maintenance, low-key type of person. It goes without saying, that if you don’t want to spend a lot of money but want some tasty Southern food, then you should give this place a try.

As a Waterman, a degenerate fisherman, a Florida native, I take my conch very seriously. I’m glad to say Dee Dee and Willy take conch very seriously as well. They may call the conch fritters a conch lady, but I don’t care what you call it when it taste like that. A damn fine fritter. Owners couldn’t be any nicer. I will be returning quite regularly.

I was in town for a business meeting and decided to pass by all the fru fru posh places and give this mom and pop place a try. I’m a believer that the best food usually comes from hole in the wall, locally-owned type places. Dee Dee’s did not disappoint. The fried shrimp and collard greens were some of the best I’ve ever had. I’m always concerned that fried food will be too heavy, but this shrimp was fried lightly and to perfection. No sauce needed, but it does come with a sauce that was delicious. I also ordered the baked beans. They were a bit too intense on sweetness for me, but they had a good cinnamon flavor that was interesting and something I’ll try at home. I wanted to try the crab, but they were out. If I ever come back to Del Ray, I’ll surely come back to try it out. Definitely give this place a try!

I tried this place for lunch today and what a treat. I had the cracked conch with dipping sauce and two of my co-workers had the fried sausage lunch with mac and cheese. We were all content with the price and the food!!! The service was fantastic I can’t wait to try the ribs! Food Taste: 8.5 Presentation: 8.5 Staff: 10 Cleanliness: 7.5 Overall: 9

Small restaurant that was not well air conditioned, has small dining area. Food was very good and the young lady running the register was so very nice. We took our food to go. Everything was so very tasty. I was informed after eating that conch is sea snail so that was a bit off putting but not enough so to make me ever say no to any conch fritter :-) The Conch lady(fritters) are very good here and I would definitely eat that again. The Cracked conch was a bit too chewy for my taste but my son enjoyed it. Side dishes were good, the baked beans had a sweet, cinnamony flavor that was really good. Other than finding out I ate Spongebobs pal Gary. a great dining experience.

Small mom and pop shop. Good food, good prices. You may be waiting for your food for a little while but it’s a small restaurant with two people working. One in the kitchen and one in the front. The food is good. I thought the ribs were a little dry but the sauce was delicious. Fried okra is fantastic. Everyone liked the fried fish. Great lunch specials.

The food here was just delicious. For the ribs with the Willie sauce I say yum. Even the fries were tasty and I am not a big fry fan. I have had conch in the Bahamas and held up well to that. If you want salad this is not your place. If you want food tasty enough to make you forget and nutrition, this is your place. I would happily come back.

Dee Dee’s is dee-dee-licious! The cracked conch(and sauce) is the best I’ve ever had – and I’ve travelled throughout the Caribbean. The collard greens are also fantastic. Prices are very good, too. As more people forgive the sketchy neighbors and discover the down-home deliciousness of Dee Dee’s, it’s only going to get more fresh and more amazing. I only wish more people would give it a try so it sticks around.

If you like conch and/or ribs(didn’t try the crab), you won’t be disappointed with the food or value. The ambiance is a perfect ‘shack’ in an otherwise ritzy area although I did takeout.

Okay here we go! I’m going to try to get out how I really feel about this place without writing a book. First of all I’m only going there on the weekends when my new best buddy is there which is the owners daughter. She has the most pleasant attitude that I’ve ever seen in a child working in their parents restaurant. My wife and I both enjoyed her. Now to the food. Awesome! My wife always gets the fried conch with french fries. My wife is an extremely critical person the total opposite of myself. My wife has never, ever been disappointed at this place. my wife is not Bahamian but she is from St. Thomas so she does knows seafood. Last week for the first time other then conch and fries I had the Ribs. Oh my God! The ribs were absolutely delicious. I do admit, the tables and chairs have a tendency to not be the cleanest but as I said before I’m not as critical as my wife. They definitely get a pass on that. Heck! With the food being that delicious, I’ll clean the tables and chairs myself. You guys are doing an awesome job and unless you change The rib recipe, the way you prepare that extremely fresh Conch or my doctor says I cannot come there anymore, you have lifetime customers with us. Good job Dee Dee! See you next Saturday. And my buddy better be there or it’s going to be some furniture moving up in that bad boy!

Cleanliness: The tables were sticky. Seats were sticky. Eww… Ambiance: They had music playing from a device behind the counter. It was a little too loud which made it difficult to place our order. I couldn’t really hear her but managed to guess that she was asking me what two sides I wanted. Menu: The menu was confusing and outdated. The menu board says Dinner combos are Fri and Sat only. We were there on a Thursday night, and when I asked about it, apparently dinner options are available everyday. They had printed menus that are supposedly more up to date, but when the gal handed me the menu, she said that crabs are a dollar more than what the menu says. Update your menus! Food: I ordered the Ribs dinner combo. The portion was excellent. But the ribs were slightly warm at best. Topped with room temperature BBQ sauce, it just wasn’t what I’d expect from a good rib joint. The fried okra was excellent! The collard greens were not hot and was a little bitter. I’m a sucker for collard greens and not too picky at all, but these were somewhat of a disappointment. My son got Mac and cheese. The macaroni was over cooked and mushy. Costco Mac and cheese is by far better than this.

This is my third visit here. I don’t come too often because the food is fattening as heck but it’s very good. I’ve tried the conch fritters, fried catfish, ribs and chicken(my mouth is watering while I type) Anyhow it’s good, you can call in a order or sit at a table, the owners are super appreciative and serve everything with love and a smile. If you love conch you will love the many ways it’s prepared at Deedee’s Conch Shack.

Dee Dee’s is fantastic! I’ve had her ribs twice with their Wicket Willie sauce, which they call their most famous – justifiably so! Her ribs are among the best I’ve ever tasted. Her collard greens are definitely the best I’ve ever had, and her Ho-K Corn Bread and Sweet Potato Pie are great too. Last but not least, Dee Dee is super friendly. Highly recommended!
