Papalani. Gelato is an excellent find in the Boca /Delray area. The restaurant is very clean and bright with several tables to sit inside and out. The staff including the owner is extremely nice. Most importantly the Gelato was excellent. Several choices to choose from and they don’t limit how many samples you try. It’s a very friendly and inviting place that I highly recommend

I walk into a gelato place and have a predefined notion it will be filled with Italian flavors. Wrong! It is loaded with Hawaiian flavors. What a refreshing surprise. The gelato is much richer than most, and I think you could fool someone and tell them it is ice cream. The flavors of caramel and macadamia were nicely blended into the rich gelato. They also have sorbetto which I didn’t try during this trip, but they looked tasty. There is a display full of candies as well. I was able to try a truffle which is a great chaser for the gelato. Tasty place with friendly staff. Good combination.

This little shop sells a variety of items including gelato, sorbetto, frozen yogurt, chocolates, and coffees. I’ve tried a few of their gelato flavors and they’re very rich and creamy. Considering that it’s so hot most of the time here in Florida, I find the fruit flavors to be particularly refreshing. You can tell this company started In Hawaii by the décor and the use of many tropical ingredients. I like that you have a choice of regular, sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, or nut free. There’s something for everybody.

You’ll be greeted by a friendly«Aloha!» every time you hit the door, which is cool but may irk the Grumpiest Generation when the snow vultures return for«season,» unless they fought in the Pacific. They have coffee, candies, and, of course, gelato, and, I understand, breakfast in the AM with smoothies and oatmeal. The gelato is excellent, with several flavors we don’t see at local stores including some exotic asian fruits and nuts. I pop it a star for the occasional oversized chunks of hard coconut(1″+) that I find in the sorbetto. Someone is going to choke on those bad-boys. High fiber? A plus. Heimlich maneuver? Not so much so.

A yummy selection of gelatos and wonderful fruity sorbets! And the staff was so friendly, just like you would expect from in Hawaii!

How nice that their very first review has lots of information on flavors, pictures and a glowing recommendation… and it is the only review that account has. Very suspicious. We live nearby and checked out the place, and I feel it is my civic duty to provide a real review. Hopefully they will take out the fake review. The gelato here is kinda horrible. Sorry, I wanted to like it because it’s local, but our gelato tasted like the ice cream they serve out of a machine at a Chinese buffet. It’s expensive, too — more so than any gelato place we have ever been to in Rome. They are friendly and have good service, but it doesn’t make up for the quality of the gelato. To be fair, we had only a few favors, and maybe their fruity flavors taste better. Highly disappointed after reading all the great reviews here.

Who knew Gelato from Hawaii could taste so good — this place is amazing. For some strange reason, I thought this would be a traditional Italian place as Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream, derived from the Latin word«gelātus»(meaning frozen) and I did not notice the Hawaiian Hibiscus flower in their logo. I immediately noticed the surfboards and Hawaiian theme inside this restaurant so I knew this would not be a traditional gelato establishment. Of course, I sampled some of the flavors and I was taken back at how good some of them were and I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but the Salt Ponds was to die for and the Hawaiian Cheescake was amazing, in fact the Belgian chocolate was outstanding. Simply put, they were all fantastic and I wanted to order a scoop of everything in the store. I also noticed that they serve Belgian waffles and as if the gelato was’t good enough, they offer a combination gelato waffle and that is what I had to order. The waffle was excellent and one of the best I have had in South Florida and the Salt Ponds gelato on top was absolutely delicious. I added some maple syrup to the dish and was very happy with this combination. They also had other deserts like chocolate, brownies, cookies, and a line of coffee and breezes that all look great. I believe this is the only non-Hawaii location for this franchise so far, and we are very lucky this place chose to expand in Delray Beach.

A gem not to be missed. We stopped here literally three days after they opened. So many delicious flavors it was hard to decide what to order(I know they were delicious because between my wife and I we had six scoops). In addition to gelatto they offer pastries. Friendly prompt service. We’re definitely going back the next time we have a sweet craving.

Papalani gelato offers a eclectic mix of island and mixed fruit flavors of gelato and sorbet. Choose from a cup or cone with any flavor of gelato. I chose a small cup filled with expresso and key lime pie, both were decadent and amazing. Rich flavors and went so well together. The shop transports you back to Hawaii. Awesome, incredible flavors and combinations that you will only see here. My new favorite gelato place. Highly recommend coming here and getting a taste of aloha.

I’ve had plenty of gelato, coffee, and chocolates BUT I have never had such delicious flavor combinations and smooth coffee as the ones served at Papalani! If you want decadent gelato you must try the Belgian Chocolate and the Kauai Cookies(biscotti gelato with chocolate hazelnut cookie sauce), if you want refreshing then you must try one of the 12 sorbettos(my pick is the Pineapple Li Hing Mui Sorbetto — sweet pineapple with tangy Chinese plum). If you’re a coffee addict like me then you’ll really appreciate their Kona coffee. Their Hawaiian Coffee Breeze is definitely heaven in a cup; the perfect blend of flavors that take you to Hawaii. They also serve delicious pastries and chocolates that are as beautiful as they are delicious. Trust me when I say that once you go, you’ll be planning your next trip back!
