Planet Fitness – Delray Beach

They make cancelling your membership quite a pain in the ass. I sent multiple emails asking for help to cancel and no response. When I finally had time to call, they said I had to do it in writing (but email would not do) or in person. Seeing as I had moved to Texas, my only option was snail mail. I finally received a bill for the entire month because they had received the letter two days after it needed to be cancelled for a partial charge. I had explained that I had sent multiple emails in the weeks prior and their response was «it needs to be in writing so mail us something». It was quite frustrating.

This gym is clean, well-​lit and ventilated. The machines and other equipment in great working order and plenty of equipment except for cables which get a lot of use. Mostly an older crowd goes there and most are new to gyms and exercising. Don’t expect gym etiquette i.e. sharing machines. There can be delays because people sit on the machines and benches while completing there entire set of exercises sometime talking on the phone. The front desk team is great, very friendly and professional.
Suggestions for improvement; if you are going to have rules then enforce them or do away with them. Most commonly violated rules are cell phones on the gym floor and clothing that does not comply with gym policy. The staff is posted at the front desk and so they either chose not or cannot go onto the floor and correct policy violations.
The management seems reticent and non confrontational.

Machine. Clean and brand new. Some of the staff stand out more than others. Rose, Misty, and Laurent are always pleasant and genuinely friendly, unlike some of the others. Overall this gym is a good value, and the staff I mentioned make a difference.

I decided to give this gym a try as a guest. Unfortunately, I will not be joining. I was asked to leave because NO JEANS are allowed except I wasn’t wearing «jeans». Please note that I was wearing blue jean/​Lycra leggings. (jeggings.) I understand how they may appear like jeans from a distance but not after I showed them to him. Please note the pants have no zippers or buckles or anything that can damage any equipment and I was on the stair climber.

I stumbled upon this PF location on my way home from work and while I had planned to stop at my home location in Lake Worth, I figured I’d check this one out.
I ventured inside (even though Unilocal didn’t have this location listed!) and told myself I’d leave if it wasn’t up to the standard of the Lake Worth location.
It’s a bit on the small side compared to the Lake Worth PF location; seems like it’s missing a few machines and could use brighter lights inside.
The folks at the desk were nice and immediately let me in with my Black Card. The locker rooms were clean and actually seemed to offer a bit more space compared to the LW location, however again, the lighting needed to be upped more.
Overall, I’m glad I was able to get in a workout on my way home, but I definitely wouldn’t make this location my favorite.
