This Papi’s will disappoint you. The Papi’s in Denham is 10 times better. The restaurant is set up in a way you feel crowded and uncomfortable. Food is not as good and service just down right sucks. Our meal was half over by the time we got our drink from the bar… sad. Just bypass this one in Watson and go to Denham.

I was told Papi’s was good but I guess I went to the wrong one. Terrible food and I got really sick afterwards. Wait staff was incredibly rude to top it all off.

Not impressed. Tables are not laid out so you can enjoy your meal, no matter where you are you are in a walk way unless in a booth. SO loud. Hostess was busy chit chatting with people she knew and made the other hostess do everything. Food was not seasoned well at all. Tasted like reheated chicken. Will not be going back.

This place always seems busy, but it took way too long to get our food. Service is hit and miss. Stick to the place in Denham Springs. It has done consistently well every time we’ve eaten there.

It pains me to write this review because my wife and I have been going to the Papi’s in Denham Springs for years, since they opened, and have always had excellent food and service. However, tonight, it was BAD! Okay, it’s a Friday night but we waited 20 minutes for a table. Waitress came shortly after we were seated got our drink orders, apps order and entrée order. She brought our drinks, chips & salsa and Queso cheese rather quickly but then we waited almost an hour for our entrees. When the entrees came my wife’s Taco salad was supposed to be without beans, she had beans and didn’t want to wait another hour for another, my Chicken chimichanga was soggy and my wife’s niece’s taco was supposed to be meat and cheese only, but had meat only, with chucks of carrots as a filler no less. The manager came along and asked how things were so I told him the whole ordeal. He recognized my wife and I and knew that we had been to going to Papi’s for quite some time. He apologized and said he had two guys from the kitchen did not show up. We said this was the first time we had a bad experience in all of the years we have been going, wouldn’t stop coming, just letting off steam I guess. And the waitress gave us a sopapilla dessert for our troubles. But the one thing that bothered me most was that they sat us in the back dining room, which is close to the patio where they had a band playing. They had the door open, letting cigarette smoke file into the dining room. When I asked about it they said they could not close it because it would be hard for the wait staff to go out the doors with food, drinks, etc. I thought it was a Louisiana law about smoking so close to an enclosed public area. Oh well I guess I’m not paid to think.

Service is spotty, probably because there are so many young people working. I don’t like that they put big chunks of carrots in the ground beef. The chicken fajitas are great, more than you can eat at once. I would really like for them to remove the whipped cream from their strawberry daiquiri mix. Overall this is a good place to bring the kids and just relax if you don’t expect a gourmet meal.
