I wanted to try the place but they are closed at 8:30. There were other trying to get in as well. I wish places were open when advertised.

Unilocal showed they were open, but the sign on the door said«Closed for summer break.» Not helpful to have such flaky hours and then not update key online info sources when something changes.

My friends and I were so excited to go, but when we got there it wasn’t open when Unilocal said it was. This is a common thing. I’ve been told the hours are weird and it’s hard to tell when it’s actually open. So sad because it looks so cute. I was told it won’t be open for 3 months. Also, parking is hard to find.

An amazing family buisness. Great service and excellent food. Definitely the place for you if you are looking for new platters. Their crepes are amazing. I tried their banana and nuts with chocolate(forgot its name) but it was amazing! Been there twice so far and i loved it

This café has a nice home atmosphere, something that I usually associate with food establishments in Austin. There is inside and outside seating. We went on a rainy day so there was a bit of a wait because of the lack of indoor seating. I am a very patient person, especially on Sunday mornings when I have no plans for the day, but the service was absolutely miserable. It took 15 – 20 minutes just to get a server to order drinks. There are only about 10 tables in the whole place! I also asked for ketchup twice for my potatoes before just getting up and asking the cashier for it. You can see the kitchen when you walk in and as I sat waiting for some service I noticed one of the ladies spending a large amount of time trying to perfectly place fruit on a crêpe. This lady treated her food more like a master art piece than something that would be consumed in 10 minutes. Food was good once it came out, nothing special. Go here if you have a lot of time to kill!

This place is seriously the cutest. I love coming to Cups and Crepes for the coffee and to experiment with different types of crepes. It doesn’t look like a lot of food when the server brings it out, but they’re very filling. I also appreciate that they will make the crepes for what you particularly like; for example, they have a Reese’s crêpe and they make mine light on the peanut butter. It’s wonderful. It’s also in a historic home in Denton so it’s very quaint and fun.

Good food and yummy coffees. This isn’t a fast food joint… your food is prepared when you order it… So have a coffee and relax. Both savory and sweet crepes are tasty.

Excuse my French, but as a honorable mixed French man, I was given the secrets of the Illuminati and making crepes… although now I feel that my expertise in making crepes is well needed. The good… I love places to eat that once was a house and have a low key, jazzy smokey vibe… this place is that minus the jazzy smokey bit. The food is good as well, but there is a caveat to that in which I will get to later on in this review… biscuits are fresh and flaky the way your mom doesn’t make them, crepes are good, light and fresh, and hash browns are good too. The bad… parking is not the greatest but I can see past that. Service is lacking and sporadic, but still friendly. I did have a couple mess ups on my order and at least one was corrected… The food came out slow which is why the food would have been better but unfortunately I could tell it was waiting in line for a while. Lastly I found a hair in my food but by this time I just wanted to eat and it has not been the first time I have had a hair in my throat… whaaa I mean plate. All in all ok place but could really be a gem if worked on some key issues…

Cups and Crepes has some of the best crepes in town. Also I really enjoy getting coffee here because the main guy I talk to is super knowledgeable on the subject and we just talk about different coffee combos and which are better in a chemex as opposed to something else while he is making my order. I like knowing about the process of making coffee so this has been super helpful and interesting. This only reason I don’t give them 5 stars is because it takes some time to get your order but I totally understand because whenever I’ve gone they did have other people there so of course their orders have to be filled first and I think it’s only one guy in the back making this stuff. Anyways really good food and people.

I’m still a fan, but there’s just quite a few things lacking to fully justify 4 stars. On our most recent visit, we were told they were transitioning from order at the bar to waitstaff service, but that transition must be in the beginning stages based on the spotty service. At different points in our meal they were out of coffee, creamer, straws… Small things, but enough to leave a bad taste in my mouth(in addition to the sour tasting drip coffee). They menu is still the same limited options as it was a year ago and for $ 9+, you’re not really getting much food. I haven’t given up hope, but it’s definitely not a top pick for Denton. I’ll get my crêpe cravings satisfied at the booth at Arts & Jazz!

I was in Cups & Crepes earlier for a nice Sunday brunch awhile back and I was quite disappointed. My friend and I didn’t have a very good experience and probably will never return with there being other tasty brunch options here in Denton. The service was slow and the food wasn’t very good. The wait time for just coffee was too long coffee and when I did receive my coffee finally it was far from hot and the cookie I was looking forward to was not present. The food came and my crêpe was good but nothing amazing like I was expecting with«Crepes» being their specialty and my friend got the pancake special which was not even done. His pancake looked done on the outside and upon cutting into it the middle wasn’t done and so he had it returned but the remark that was said was the crappy part. «That’s how I like to make them»… You like to make pancakes that aren’t done?

Food was decent, service was not. To start off I just want to say, I get what this place is about. This place exists for college students– they go and study and they get endless refills on the coffee and they don’t care that much if the service is a little rude and the atmosphere is lacking. Having said that, I care about those things. And for the price that I paid for crepes and coffee and biscuits and gravy I would expect much better service. The good things about this establishment would definitely be the food portions and the food quality. But there are more negatives, in my opinion, than there are positives. When I walked in I was greeted and told I could seat myself and given a menu, this is fine, it’s totally casual and I am cool with that. Pretty much my experience went downhill from there. If you want a drip coffee your only option, from what I could tell, was to get the endless cup of coffee. The endless cup of drip coffee is $ 2.50 and you’re given a mug that holds maybe four ounces of coffee and you just help yourself to as much as you can stomach. I am NOT a connoisseur of coffee, I don’t really know what’s great and what’s awful, it all kind of tastes the same to me. My boyfriend informs me the coffee we were drinking was actually really really terrible cheap awful coffee. So I’m just going to say if you are picky about your coffee you probably don’t want to get the drip coffee it’s not great. so if you just want one cup of coffee, just drip coffee, this is actually a total rip-off. $ 2.50 for cheap coffee is actually pretty outrageous and there’s no option to just get one cup. But if what you want to do is sit in a place that has free WiFi and sip on not great coffee for 8 hours straight $ 2.50 is probably fine for you. If you are a student and you want to go in somewhere and just hang out and study for hours and hours then this is probably a bargain, so I understand why it exists. Alright so the food was pretty good. Portions were really big and it didn’t taste bad at all. It was kind of overpriced and the wait was average. But if you have a special order or if there’s more than just two people ordering at a time be prepared to get the wrong food. I appreciate that the food is fresh but if it’s going to take 20 minutes to get hash browns it’d be great if they could double check and make sure the right people are getting the right food the way that they actually ordered it. Up until we alerted the staff there was an issue and we got the wrong food they were kind of rude. After this they seemed more apologetic but it’s a little hard to forget that they were just rude right from the beginning for apparently no reason. And if I’m being honest it’s not the whole staff it was one waitress in particular. All in all, I would say the atmosphere was lacking, the service was poor, the food was decent, and the prices were too high. I don’t think I’ll be back.

This place is really great for slow, weekend mornings. Service was fast and friendly and the food was mostly great. I had the Huddy and it is fantastic, along with my toddy iced coffee. My girlfriend’s crêpe was surprisingly just OK to me, but I was halfway through flavor town with my Huddy, so my tastebuds were on a different level. She liked it just fine. Parking was just a little confusing and it felt a little too still and quiet inside, like the owner that lives upstairs could possibly hear everything we talked about through the old house vents, but we really did enjoy ourselves. Definitely recommend giving it a shot, and I’m definitely going to try it a few more time!

Cute little historic house that serves amazing breakfast/brunch. Only place in Denton I know of that serves crepes. The staff are friendly and the food is moderately pieced(brunch pricing). I recommend the salmon crêpe! It’s fresh and topped with capers and dill. Outstanding. Biscuits are great also. Very talented kitchen crew. On top of it all they serve good quality coffee. Last I was there they were offering Avoca.

Amazing food. Great coffee. Love that they have so many brewing methods available, including siphon. Espresso drinks are great too. I usually get savory crepes like the salmon and capers one, but I’ve heard the sweet ones are just as good, which I don’t doubt at all. If you’re looking for a new breakfast place in Denton, please check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

Really liked this place. We stopped here for breakfast after dropping off a friend at their apartment. We had the biscuits and gravy, pancake meal and crepes. The pancakes were the most fluffy pancakes I’ve ever had and seen. They were delicious! The salmon filled crepes were really good and fresh, out of 10 we gave them an 8. The biscuits and gravy were the — the gravy was super milky but it could use some sausage. We definitely were satisfied with the breakfast choice we made today! Would come back for sure!

4.5 stars The food was great: we had mixed berry crepes, smoked salmon crepes, and the hubby. We also had a peppermint patty latte. The food was fresh, filling, and delicious. The mixed berry crepes were my favorite, it was so light and simple. The smoked salmon crepes were my least favorite thing. They weren’t bad by any means, I was just expecting a different type of smoked salmon(the non-flaky kind). The hubby was filling and a really cool take on hash browns. I had never had stuffed hash browns before. My boyfriend loved his latte. He said if was flavorful and rich. I tasted it and thought the foam was really well done. The people working there were friendly and relaxed. The service was good, not much to comment on. The price was a bit high for Denton brunch locations, but definitely worth it. Good crepes aren’t easy to come by. If you’re looking for a leisurely breakfast in a quirky Denton location, come here. You won’t be disappointed.

Passing through and looking for someplace close to the charging station, we stumbled on breakfast. Next time, we’ll be in Denton just for breakfast. Crepes, pancakes, French Toast, bacon, cappuccino, lattes. All tried. All fantastic. Pleasant, friendly service and a reasonable price round out this little gem.

The perfect spot for breakfast — whether enjoying a meal together or solo. Nice, relaxing, charming, homey atmosphere! Very polite service! Yummy crepes & joe! Only thing that would give this place a zillion stars in my book would be to serve the fare on heated plates.
