The place is so drafty and uncomfortable in winter I wonder how they keep customer. The waitress was really polite. I spilled some stew on my scarf and she immediately got me some club soda on her own initiative to blot with. The food however was sub par to fast food. I ordered the beef stew. One expects beef in the beef stew. Four pieces of beef, one with a huge glob of fat. Ugh. Greasy toast. I ordered a cup of hot tea because I was cold. I am not a tea totaller but it was 22 outside. The water was not even warm as in I could put my finger in it. So she nuked it. Yay. Not. Then I was charged $ 2.59 for tea. That’s ridiculous considering it was originally served cold and I wasn’t asked if I wanted another cup. When it’s hot water and a tea bag, seriously get your pricing under $ 2. It’s Denton, not the city. I ate, paid, and left. Don’t bother.

The bad news about this place is that the pub is so charming, the staff is so friendly and the food is so good, you’ll do what I did and eat so much your tummy hurts. The good news for me is that I’m staying two nights in Denton and can do it all over again tomorrow night! Get the cream of crab soup.

Tuesday night is burger nite. Pretty average burger, shoestring fries & coleslaw $ 5.00, great price. The house special fish & chips for $ 12.50 is grease soaked, tasteless, fish. Skip it. Great bar atmosphere, little loud for conversation. Update: cheesesteak sub is delish! Brownie/ice cream dessert is huge & yummy!

We were heading from Baltimore to Rehoboth and wanted to watch the playoffs, we called they said they had it on 6 TVs so we stopped in. I NEVER write reviews but this is a must stop in pub! Friendly owner, great prices and perfect food! And again I always doctor up my food and this was PERFECT! We had sangria, beer, fabulous wings!, portabella walnut salad to die for and blackened salmon. We are ready to move to Denton now! ;)

Will never eat here again. Used to eat here at least once a month. It was packed on our last visit so we sat at the bar… We actually watched the dude(clearly not an owner or chef) make some food. Gloves on… Touching face, picking up & drinking his drink with same gloves on… Took a handful of raw meat from a 5 gallon container(chicken or shrimp, couldn’t see specifically) & dropped them in the fryer(same gloves), then pulled a burger out from the broiler n patted it(same gloves) to see if it was done. He then moved on to plate food with the same gloves. We paid for our drinks & walked out. Disgusting.

Well tried the Pub again. Aside from the great waitress the place is just run poorly. Chicken tenders cool in the middle but the fries they sit on hot, obviously cooked earlier and sat around. The calamari is mushy and not hot. The best item was the cheese and bacon fries. Really until Denton gets more restaurants these places have no reason to improve. No competition breeds boring poor food items. Its definitely lost business to a newer joint which itself is just is subpar. If you want decent food stay on Kent Island or head to Easton. This place is kept afloat by the local grunge that permeates the area. Sit against the wall if at a table as you may have someone’s rear in your ear literally! Way too tight to be comfortable if even slightly crowded. It’ll be out of business if it keeps running this poorly.

Extremely friendly service, beautiful small town street corner with plenty of outside seating. Reuben was pretty good, fries were disappointing — soft and under seasoned — but the cole slaw was pretty good. Both the crab and potato soups were heavy with cream but tasty. Not a blow your mind food destination but worth a visit if you are in Denton or as a stop on the way to the beach.

The locals just call it «The Pub,» but this is an outstanding place to stop for lunch, dinner or have fun any night of the week. Get«big city» quality in a small town with a feeling that everyone is a member of the family!

After spending more time in Denton and looking elsewhere for edible food it became utterly clear, you really have only one option… MARKETSTREETPUBLICHOUSE. The food is always hot and tasty, the drafts cold, and the staff is friendly. They have pinball, foosball, a classic arcade game, and a few other games to entertain not to mention when it isn’t full you can throw darts up front on their board. The wraps are good, the fish and chips are plentiful and fried to perfection. The burgers are great and always cooked to order. Wife loves the Reuben as well as the cream of crab soup. If we even drive through Denton we can’t help but stop.

Stopped for lunch on the way to Ocean City. Had the salmon BLT and blackened tuna sandwich, both excellent. The fries were superb. Highly recommend this place. Lots on tap if you want a drink.

What a great find in the small town of Denton, MD! I was camping near by and stopped in for a late lunch, met some great people, and stayed for a while on a Friday. Food was very good, people even better! Give this place a try.

I go here quite often and enjoy it everytime. Everyone who works here is always friendly and helpful. Food is good with my favorite being the Guinness Burger. Meatloaf with the gravy on the fries are really good too. This place can get packed quickly especially on $ 5 burger nights. So be patient on this day. You will enjoy stopping at Market Street Pub.

Located on an old timey street that’s a charming oasis from 404. Who knew Denton was so cute?! Nice beer list and quality pub food. Fried oysters were a fav at my outdoor table overlooking a corner with historic buildings. No kids’ menu but ample kid offerings and waitress was happy to bring an off-menu side of sautéed spinach. Bottom line=Happy tummy!

If you drive between DC/Balt. and the Delmarva shore… this is the place to stop. I have been eating here probably 10 times per year for quite a few years and it is a wonderful place to take a break from the drive. As described by others, Brian is just a wonderful friendly host and the food is fantastic. A few hints gleaned over the years: –always eat the specials. if it is a special, it is usually awesome. Their standard fare is great, but I have been blown away by some of the specials.(softshell crabs!) –crab soup is really good and the ruben is a killer! –good selection of beers, but ask what the bartender recommends if you are feeling adventurous. I had a couple of IPAs from small breweries and they were delicious. –if you want it… just ask. One time I wanted chopped chicken, onions and mushrooms in a wrap… no problem.(try not to do this when it is busy!) –say hi to the locals. I have met someone almost every time I have been in there and had a wonderful conversation… people there are just friendly and interesting. Just a great place with very good food. The only analogy that I can come up with was that finding this place is like finding a $ 20 bill in a pair of old jeans. a great surprise that will put a smile on your face. Dave

Food is always good and service usually is. But not tonight. If it wasn’t for my waitress I wouldn’t have ate or had anything to drink at all. This guy named Brian behind the bar is really friendly with the regulars but didn’t even say two words to us until we were walking out the door. I literally had to say«hey, can we order dinner from you?» In order for him to acknowledge us. Like I said this isn’t normal but it’s my first time dealing with him. Next time I’m in there I’ll hope to have the better bartender, sit at a table, or go to 404 Taphouse.

If you want a McDonalds burger and prices, go there. If you want an option to have quality and quantity stop by. By far the best place in Denton. Worth the trip even if there is nothing else really around. Smithwick’s is just the added bonus. People are friendly and the seared tuna sandwich was great. The fries are crispy. Not that I would eat a rare burger, but they buy quality and will make a rare burger for you as well. It is a bar, so you could bring kids here, but it would still be a bar. Try not to be upset if it gets friendly(aka loud). If this place closed you could always drive 30 minutes to something else worth eating.

Amazing lunch on the way to the beach. I had the tuna panini — unbelievable. Order it — you won’t be disappointed. The spouse had the Guinness Burger and raved about the aoili. Service was prompt, even on a busy Memorial Day.
