This was a great buffet! A lot of different types of southern food. The chicken, pork chops and strips of fried fatback were the best. Desserts were homemade and good. The only thing was they took cash or check only. Luckily I had it in the van

We were brought here by fellow wheelers out on the trails. They said they come here to eat every time they go to Uwharrie, and I can see why. It was in the opposite direction of our hotel, so we would never have found it without them and would have missed out! Our newfound friends recommended the buffet and that’s what we chose. The only drawback I would say is that they serve Pepsi products, but that is only personal preference and somewhat sacrilegious in this state. The food was plentiful, with lots of different options. I personally loved the fresh corn and fried okra. There are multiple vegetables to choose from and the cabbage was not overcooked and their fried chicken!!! I am very picky about my fried chicken and my dad would kill me, but I would have to say it rivals his. They have country ham and deliciously fluffy biscuits. My son ate an entire plate of their fried fatback with glee. The desserts are wonderful as well. My husband groaned with pleasure over the chocolate pie. I had the pleasure of having their homemade banana pudding and the strawberry jello pretzel dessert. That banana pudding will take you back to Sunday afternoon dinners at grandma’s house. The décor is quaint, but perfect for a small town family buffet. Our waitress was wonderful and very accommodating to our group. I will most assuredly be back the next time we are at Uwharrie.

This is one of the finest buffets that I have been to bar none. Southern cooking is the fare and theirs is outstanding. I am lucky that I live as far away as I do, as I would be there once a week without fail otherwise. My wife loves the vegetables and I love the meats. No credit card, so bring cash. I went this weekend and the place was overflowing, due to holiday parties. The food did not suffer though, which I found to be impressive.

I had heard about this place for years and never made the trip. Boy, I was really missing out. Wonderful country cooking, excellent salad bar, and exceptional deserts(especially the strawberry pie). The national chains in my area have lost me to The Classic when I decide to go to a buffet.

Brooke S., clearly you work there which is why Unilocal won’t allow your review, but I hope people who read Fred B.‘s review then go ahead and read the non-recommended views(link at the end of the posted reviews) so they can see your response. We stopped by for dinner last night after a day at the zoo. Our two kids ordered off the menu(cheeseburger and fries, pizza) and the two adults ordered the buffet. The kids loved their meals, and they are VERY picky. The adults were very happy with the buffet. All the food tasted fresh and delicious. While we were there we saw almost every item replenished with piping hot from the kitchen refills. The fried chicken was delicious, the corn was fresh, chicken and dumplings excellent… I could go on but there were too many dishes on the buffet to review each separately. The desserts were fabulous; pecan pie delicious and the strawberry cobbler was incredible. Wish I could have had room to try more but I was stuffed! The price was more than fair but bring cash with you. I don’t generally give five star reviews, but this is somewhere we might actually drive an hour to get to… every once in a great while!

Really good. Service was good & the food was good. I felt things were a bit over salted but that is my only complaint. The vegetables tasted really fresh and they had several meats to choose from. The salad bar was really nice, had plenty to choose from. The desert bar was a fat girl’s dream. Too many options to choose from… the 5 or so things I tasted were great.

Excellent southern cooking and true All You Can Eat Buffet!(No quotation marks needed — this is the real deal). My family has been coming here from Lexington for over twenty years and we’ve never had a negative experience. The fried chicken, fried pork chops, and chicken-n-dumplins are not to be missed. Some of my favorite sides are the pintos, homemade mashed potatoes, collard greens, and cornbread. There are are many other choices but these are true stand outs, in my opinion. The dessert selection is worth a trip itself. All the desserts are homemade and include strawberry and peach cobbler, coconut custard, and chocolate cream. Again, there are many others but these are my personal favorites. The service has always been prompt and attentive. As other Unilocalers have mentioned, The Classic is sort of out of the way, but its definitely worth the trip if you know your southern cuisine and can appreciate the real thing… bring cash! No credit cards accepted here…

You know that feeling you get when you’re heading to one of those restaurants that’s been on your«Foodie Bucket List» for a while? Definitely was there as we headed to Denton to try out this«All You Can Eat Buffet», supposedly loaded with Southern cooking gems. The written reviews are very positive for the most part, and I talked to an individual that loves the place, even chose it for his birthday dinner. Seemed safe, but once again anticipation proved to be greater than realization. The restaurant is a little awkwardly laid out, resulting in a maze like sensation as you head to the main seating area in the back. Once there, the restaurant is rather large and open, but there is little soft and fuzzy here, rather functional and with little comfort in the seating area, literally. The buffet is in a rectangular segment near a side wall, and the quarters are somewhat close, putting skilled maneuvering at a bit of a premium. The buffet is fairly large, with the meats offered today being, Fried Chicken, Baked Ham(coarse chopped into chunks), Steak & Gravy, Country Ham, Fried Pork Chops, and even Fried Fat Back! Corn Bread and Biscuits were on the buffet too. The vegetables included Corn, Lima Beans, Mashed Potatoes(not home made), Pintos, Field Peas, and Fried Okra. There is a salad bar, with greens, some raw veggies, potato salad, pasta salad, etc. The only salad dressings available were Ranch & Thousand Island, and in general, this was an uninteresting area. There is a Dessert Bar as well with Banana Pudding(just pudding, no fresh cut banana), Strawberry Cobble, Apple Pie, and a variety of pie — Chocolate, Lemon Chess, etc. For the most part, this is average food, especially the vegetables and the desserts. The mashed potatoes were definitely not home made, and all the other veggies were canned or frozen, and uniformly under-seasoned — very disappointing. The Steak & Gravy was not good at all, the taste close to unpleasant. The Fried Chicken, Baked Ham, and the Fried Pork Chops were pretty good. The Country Ham was not bad, and the Fried Fat Back was interesting, but a very little goes a long way, even wrapped in a nice biscuit. The Corn Bread and Biscuits were very nice, but the desserts were also very average, with little depth of flavor. The best of the lot was the Strawberry Cobbler which did have some nice, sharp flavor. The buffet cost $ 10.60 for all you can eat, which is a touch pricey when compared with Pioneer Family Restaurant, up the road in High Point(lunch is $ 6.95 less desserts). All in all, it is a bit of a stretch to get to 3 stars. Nice folks, great service, and an interesting experience, but not one we’re likely to repeat. If you choose to come, bring cash, no CC accepted.

Really good southern food. It is a buffet, if you leave hungry it is your own fault. They have green beans, corn, coleslaw, fried okra, pinto beans, fried chicken, ham, country ham, biscuits and more. also a dessert bar, pies, cobblers, banana pudding, pizza and salad bar, but who wants salad with this great selection. Priced right.

One of the best southern meals I’ve had in a long time. I never would have thought the food was so good from looking at the outside of the building.

This place was worth the drive, it’s out of the way unless you live in the country, but if you want wonderful Southern cooked food and RIDICULOUSLY good deserts then please make the trip. ALL of the food was great, not just a few items, and did I mention the deserts? :)

Great place! Usual soul food selections — no need to mention them all. They have excellent made-to-order pizza and excellent homemade desserts. Usually some cute waitstaff who are(usually) courteous and attentive. Great place for a large group of people, or a quick lunch!

If you want a country buffet this is it. It differs from day to day. A salad bar plus the buffet. Side meat, country ham, pork chops, fried chicken, a wonderful slow baked ham, on some days chicken livers. There’s always cornbread and bisquits, and a lot of veggies to chose from. Plus a dessert bar, so save a little room. Service is good from a friendly staff and owner Mark Smith. I think it’s a thursday thru sunday lunch and supper. You can order off the menu, a choice of burgers and fries and different sandwiches if you don’t want to graze at the buffet. Remember to take cash, no cards. Take a crowd with you It’s a big place.

My husband loves this place. Good country buffet. The food is good and plentiful. Classic southern comfort food is served. My only problem is that the dining room could be organized a little bit better and some decorating wouldn’t hurt. The environment takes away from the food, in my opinion. Still, worth a look.
