Me thinks Andre’s has closed already or is in its last week or so of being open(they’d previously announced they were closing at the end of the year). The bottom line is that they’ll be missed very much. So if you want to try their fabulous quiches and pastries you’ve left yourself very little time to stock your freezer before it’s simply too late. The«good»(?) news is that the original Andre’s(in Kansas City and its sister restaurant in Overland Park) seem still to be in business. But ya know, I don’t think I’ll be making the overnight drive to Missouri any time soon, even for a 5 star torte.(Now, for a 5 star tart. .. well, that would be a different thing, entirely:). Sign me, sadly, David«All things must pass» M.

I’m sad that they are closing at the end of 2015. This place has been around forever and makes some excellent desserts, pastries and food. We’re losing all of our longtime favorites here in Denver, and I hope something similar comes in eventually. One thing’s for sure, 49 years is an eternity in the restaurant industry. Hope their employees are taken care of after the closure.

49 years in business I guess its time to say good bye. I remember how my grandparents loved Andres. You have a choice of 2 different meals that come with s small but tasty salad, bread and butter, iced tea, hot tea or coffee. They do have lattes wish I had ordered one but the tea was fine. The best part of the meal is dessert yes you also get dessert I had the rum ball ahhhh. My dad had the linger torte and he didn’t even give me a Bite. I gave him a taste of my rum ball Well they are open till the very end of the year. If you have memories of Andres I would go have a last meal Thank you

A bit pricey and overrated for me. while the chocolate raspberry and apple strudel I had was good, I don’t think its worth the price.

Wedding disaster! We ordered our daughter’s wedding cake from Andre’s and it wasn’t delivered! The staff is not responsible or dependable. We were all very disappointed and embarrassed.

I love this place. Favorites are the pot roast, anything with spatzle, cheese pie. The dessert favorites are the mocha square and the Napolitan. It is really a fast lunch. And I really like the iced tea. Basic, rich, Austrian food. Check out the menu on Tuesday each week to pick the day to visit for the week. With each meal you get a drink, the entrée with 2 sides and a dessert.

I’ve been patronizing Andre’s for a long time and have never been disappointed. It’s one of those restaurants that slips your mind because they don’t advertise. Strictly word of mouth. But whenever it pops into my head while I’m thinking of where to eat for lunch this is the place. They have a parking lot, which is unusual, and parking on the street too. When you walk in you’re immediately met with the very tempting bakery and frozen section. Sounds yucky, but it’s actually charming. Then you’re seated at a tiny table with fresh flowers and room enough to eat. Almost immediately a server asks what you’d like for lunch — choose from 2 or 3 selections with sides. The full menu for the month is available on their website. When you’re finished with lunch they bring out the dessert tray and it’s hard to make up your mind which one you want. The lunch servings aren’t overwhelmingly big like most American restaurants, just big enough to satisfy and enjoy, and the food is always awesome. True, there are a lot of active seniors(please, skip saying«blue hair set — it’s demeaning), but usually when I dine at Andre’s there’s a variety of ages representing. Great place to celebrate an office birthday. By the way, it’s not in Glendale. It’s halfway between Glendale and Cherry Creek.

Stopped in for a quick lunch and this place was hopping. I didn’t realize that it was a restaurant at first because it almost seems café style, like order at the counter and sit. So I actually ordered a treat from the case and then inquired about a table. Held my baby and ate at a booth table. There are limited options, which I liked. I tried the chicken pie. It was the perfect amount of food. Every bit was delicious. Quality over quantity, full without stuffing myself. Marinated tomato slices and a small salad, also an awesome slice of soft fresh baked bread. I am not sure how they got the chicken in the pie to be so extremely soft and juicy. Glad I discovered something unique in a city full of burgers and pies. Service was fast. Atmosphere was almost diner, and the crowd was mostly older, being in my 30’s, I might have been the youngest one there and the baby was sure to get lots of attention! I wouldn’t pass up a treat from the case.

Lunch menu is available online a week in advance. Service is very fast so I have learned to slow wait staff down and ask questions. I like to make sure I know what I am ordering! Saturdays are my favorite because they make morenkopf, stuffed pastry with Barvarian crème and dipped In chocolate. The ice coffee topped with real whipped crème is also a favorite.

I work a stone’s throw away from Andres, and each time I eat there, I think to myself, «I need to come here more often.» OK, it doesn’t have a menu, just a choice of two lunch plates. OK, it caters to the blue-haired lady set. OK, when it’s full, you feel like you’re elbow-to-elbow with everyone. But dang, the food is good, and it comes out immediately. And dessert(you can make your choice from the tray they bring around) is to die for. Their European-style cookies and pastries are among the best in town. I spied some lovely macarons on my last visit that I haven’t tried yet, but I will. If you need something to take home for dinner, try one of Andre’s quiches. They’re excellent, and you’ll never go back to the nasty quiches from King Soopers ever again. This is a Denver institution. Long may it thrive!

Been going since the 70’s always great food! It’s a very special place for lunch. Usually 2 choices per day, plus wonderful homemade pastries. Pork Piccata & Beef Roast & Polenta are my faves. You will not be disappointed!

My mother has been eating here since the 1960s and brought my sister and me here as girls. It is exactly the same and that is a very good thing! Andre’s pastries are the best in the city, particularly their Napoleans. Their service is superb. And their daily entrees are perfection on a plate. They only serve two entrée options a day which bothers some people, but I love the attention to perfection. My husband would prefer larger portions, but for a brunch or tea I think they are, again, perfect. Andre’s is a high quality gem of Denver.

I love going to Andre’s with my mom or Grandma. The non-nonsense menu is great– there are only two options per day. With every meal, you get a wonderful desert from their bakery. Around the holidays they are quite busy and the food isn’t as good.

A friend recently inherited some money and wanted to celebrate by taking her friends to her aunt’s favorite restaurant. She said it was where the Cherry Creek Blue hairs ate and was she right. As I was looking for a parking spot, a woman in a mink coat driving a Hover Around drove into the parking lot and up to the door, I could hardly keep the grin off my face as I thought she was adorable. Andre’s only serves lunch and there are only two offerings each day, a meat dish and a veggie dish. When we dined at Andre’s our choice was chicken curry over white rice and a vegetable or a cheese and tomato pie; both meals were tasty. And best of all they come with one of Andre’s famous pastries or confection. These are so good and so beautiful that they make perfect gifts for friends. After our meal, I purchased a chocolate frog for a friend and she loved it. Not for everyone but a good meal for older friends.

4SOLIDSTARS for Delicious Pastries and Baked Goodies… Do they used FRESH, BEST, FINEST Ingredients from Switzerland??? I sure hope so… Hmm, curious curious curious… 2 stars for the PRICE = OUCH to my pockets… Was here with N, on Thursday August 23rd2012 while running errands in this part of neighborhood. Did not notice that Andre’s Restaurant & Confiserie Suisse is in GLENDALE neighborhood and how many times, I have passed by driving this area… Decisions? Decisions? Decisions??? Too many pastries, DIFFICULT to choose… Hmmm… At least the staffs behind the counter, answers my questions about the pastries and baked goods they offer at Andre’s. From what I could recall these were what I ordered that day : * 4 Pastries($ 9.00) * 1 Danish($ 1.25) * 1 Cookie($ 1.35) DELISH! To the Capital D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! I wish I could have more more more… Perhaps one day I could convince Hubs to bring me to Andre’s and purchase my BIRTHDAYCAKE, COOKIES, Pastries from Andre’s in the future. *HinT* — *HinT* @120/2012

This place is one of a kind, I love their business model! With a decadent looking counter of pastries and confections up front. Tucked inside is a dining room serving lunch only. Every time I come, there are only two lunch options, it almost makes me come back again and again just to try everything they have to offer! The meal kind of reminds me of airline meals, lol, maybe because of the portion? But it’s got a little bit of everything, a drink(their iced coffee with real whipped cream is TODIEFOR, and refill included!), salad, bread, and a main, usually either vegetarian or with meat. The best is at the last: you get to choose a dessert from the pastry tray. The tray is different every time — another thing I love about them, it’s like you’re taking your chances! So, bring a group of people, then you can sample everything! :-)
