Buchtel Park Apartments

Watch out for move out charges! I really loved living here, but they burned us pretty bad on move out. Our walkway wasn’t tiled and we did the best we could to keep our carpets clean (no shoes inside, etc) but they slapped us with huge charges for carpet and for cleaning despite what I felt was very normal wear and tear for having been there for 3 years (during which they did almost no upkeep other than changing the smoke detector batteries and fixing things when they were requested). We even rented a steam cleaner a couple months before! Still was a good place to live though, and unfortunately, landlords everywhere are looking to screw you out of every cent they can, so I suppose we shouldn’t have been surprised.

We have had nothing but problems since we moved. The first day we moved in both of the towel racks broke. They can a couple days later to «fix» then, but only one held. The other one fell after a couple days. My boyfriend has epilespy and couldn’t drive for 7 months so we left his car parked in the parking lot. They hire someone to come down to the parking lot every couple days to give tickets. We get a ticket for an expired liscence plate, even he wasn’t driving it. A couple months later we got another ticket because when we parked the front liscence plate fell off. Once again, not even driving it. We also had a MAJOR problem with mold. It was covering the whole bottom part of the window and ledge. COVERED in green, gooey, mold. We also found it in our clothes closet creeping up the wall into our bedding and clothes. The big hit came when we rented out the party room. It costs $ 50 just to rent it, then on top of that they wanted me to pay for a cupboard in the room that was broken when I got there. I also had to pay for a full carpet shampooing of the room, there were 14 ppl at the get together, we didn’t through a rager. It ended up costing my an extra $ 70 dollars. DO NOT RENT IT!!! It will cost you more than jusst $ 50. BEWARE! They were extremely unreassonable. I would recommend to not live here!!! The main lady, GLORIA is extremely hard to talk to or deal with. She has no people skills and accomplishes nothing. They just want your money, and they will figure out any way to get it. BE CAREFUL!!!

I lived @ Buchtel for 3 years and had a fantastic experience. I was new to the area and the professional staff made my transition seamless. My unit was updated and spacious and on the rare occasion that any problems occurred, maintenance was immediately available to fix any problems that arose. Management lives locally and they seemed very interested in creating a great living environment for their residents. I was fortunate to have found this complex in my apartment search.
