I scrolled through these reviews and find it to be a got dam* shame that no one has mentioned the crown jewel of this local established, the holy grail of Bonnie Brae, the Sultan of Swat!(just watched Sandlot, pardon the irrelevant reference) The Chickin Wangs! These bad boys look like they came from a chicken that has been locked up for 5 – 10 years for assaulting a cheeseburger. You might want to hit the curls before ordering these things. Big plate of these juggernauts served with not only a side of ranch but a friggin’ trof! These bad boys can’t be dipped in any normal«side» of ranch, I feel like I could bathe in that bowl. Showered in a classic buffalo sauce to give you enough kick to fire back a few adult beverages while wrestling these behemoths. Great dive bar ambiance, cool fish tanks and a few pool tables. Would I recommend to friends? *eye roll* You know the answer to that.

Nice pub. Friendly service. Pool tables, pacman. Yes! This place is a ‘dive’ but not in the true sense of the word(it is clean and friendly). It is just an old basic food/drink with kind of a pub/mexican/breakfast(weekends only) menu. Nice small patio. Don’t expect fancy beers. You go here because it is fun, satisfying eats, and prices that are a rarity in Denver.

The tamales were amazing, I didn’t expected it to be this fine. Egg mccampus was also great, but there’s something tasted off from it so I would pud this on second option. They also got good place.

One of the finest tamales that I had last week. It takes like out of this world, I think the chef on this place is really great. He/She has that fine cooking skills, will gonna recommend this tamales to my friends. The place itself was a little not good, because of the trash cans in the parking lot. We customers prefer not to see the trash everywhere, you better seal the trash cans so that nobody would open it and make a mess on your parking lot.

I was visiting Denver and saw Campus Lounge and was immediately drawn to it bc of their patio seating and dive bar aura. I am a recent college grad and have a huge respect for dive bars. They let my dog sit on the patio as well which was a huge plus. They had good drink specials and a very friendly staff who gave me suggestions as to where I should look to live. The waitress was very personable and made me and my Yorkie feel very welcome. Their menu is huge with so many different options ranging from enchiladas to burgers but I went with the patty melt which was hot & delicious. I enjoyed my experience there and will definitely be going back to check it out at night and play pool and darts!

As I am so often forced to do, I am rating Campus not on its cleanliness, decency, or décor. Instead I offer it five stars based on the fact that it so adroitly executes its one assigned duty: being a dive bar. The people watching can be truly phenomenal. In addition to the regulars, there is a fairly constant influx of people who truly don’t belong there, yet seem to be drawn as a moth to a bug light. The mixture of the two species can be remarkable. The food, greasy dive-bar comfort food in the purest sense of the term, is outstanding for what it is. Prices are reasonable, and the drink specials are so good that I can never pass them up even when they are something evil like $ 2.50PBR tall boys. Some of the servers are downright hysterical in their weathered cynicism, and the staff overall is friendly and helpful for such an establishment. If you are a dive bar connoisseur like me, or thinking about taking your first excursion into drinking which doubles as social research, check the place out. It seldom disappoints.

It was sooooo gooood. I read some of the reviews so I wasn’t expecting anything but ‘bar food.’ The tamales are very authentic! Go Campus Lounge !!

This place looks pretty sketchy from the outside. I finally decided to head in since I was early for my hair appt. It is actually really cute in side. Has booths and is very clean. It was only 11AM so there were only 2 other people in there. There are a lot of tvs too. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon instead of ham and it came with a side of fries. I got it without mayo. The sandwich was great but I will say I would not order their fries again. First they were very very floppy and the server said they did not cook them long enough so she ordered me some new ones. Well they were not any better so I am not sure what is up with those. But I would definetly be back with friends to watch a game and hang out.

The decision to come here to watch a football game was a decision based upon proximity. Not the best way to decide, we soon learned. It’s a dive bar, and it looks as if it belongs on the set of a Quentin Tarentino movie. As a dive bar, there’s cheap drinks and cheap food, but the service was downright weird. There were four of us sitting right in front of the bar. Servers had to walk past us to go to their station, yet we still had to either go to the bar ourselves or stop someone to get a round. The server who was supposed to be taking care of us spent most of her time sitting at the bar, and only approached us after we got rounds from other sources. In fact, she was so out of it, we concluded that she had to be high or drunk due to her mannerisms. Two of our group wanted to leave, trying to get the bill split up was such a hassle in communication he just decided to pay the whole thing. My cousin and I had one more round and then left. The upside, as I said before, is the drinks were cheap, but even so, I can’t imagine that I’ll come back here.

Whilst discussing what you really want out of a neighborhood dive bar with a friend(and maybe dissing our usual haunt a little bit) I suggested we stop in for a round and the Campus Lounge, which has always been a Denver favorite for me. It’s old school. From the juke, the the regulars, the friendly service. The food is what you’d expect from such a place. Nothing special, nothing bad. The service is great. The prices are reasonable, and it looks like what an American bar should look like.

What is it with Dive Bars and small closet sized bathrooms? One stall for the ladies– Come on people! At least the chick before me lit a match… Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Quesadilla– Boss! Green Chili was really peppery– but decent Pool League here– Good times! 2 pool tables– nice small patio– parking can suck at times. Good Music on the box Interesting crowd Cheryl was our waitress– Awesome!

Expect what you expect and you will be a happy Unilocaler. It is what it is. I love my chicken wings but these where the super frozen bulk-kind. Full of feathers and lots of broken bones. I understand my meal was once alive and but there was the appearance of not giving a crap about the body parts on my plate. Sloppy all the way around. Green chili passable, forget the chicken fried steak sandwich and don’t get excited about the liquid condiment tray. Let me get to the curt service. I spilled my beer. I know. There was a disturbance in the force. The ball-n-chain said to the Vulcan taking care of us «I have know her for almost 25 years and I have never seen her spill a beer. EVER». Stone cold waitress mopped up the spill, didn’t offer me any new napkins and bolted. I still tipped her 20% but I will reconsider next time. The old waitress and bartender in me is still in my heart. A go to place for those who go there. Seems the same crusty sort of place despite the smoking ban ten years ago… just the 411.

This is a cute little divey place with efficient and friendly bartenders/servers. The drinks were served promptly and were stout. I had the chicken nachos, typical pub fare, and it was decent. I had the half order and could only finish about a third of that. Clearly a lot of regulars, which is cool. They were all quite nice, too, which made watching the Rockies game that much better(except for the part where we lost). I’ll definitely be back again.
