My friends and I went here for our monthly afternoon tea outing. It is a tea shop that offers various types of British tea and other tea related items, and they have a small restaurant that offers tea and lunch options. Given that this is a Welsh shop and restaurant, we expected that we were in for a more authentic afternoon tea. We did not get an option to choose tea(we have some in our group who don’t do caffeine). We received an assortment of scones and a slice of apple pie, but there were no other savory tea treats. The scones were fair – nothing extraordinary. If you are looking for a traditional afternoon tea experience, this is not it.

Their scones are delicious, but after today’s experience, I will not be back. My husband and I walked in, the gentleman(who I have seen before and presume is an owner) looked at us standing at the counter, scowled, and walked right back out. No greeting, no «I’ll be right with you», just the scowl. We were so shocked at his blatant rudeness that we left. There is nothing charming about being treated this way.

Cano’s Collection is a wonderful little shop that offers all things British including afternoon tea, scones and real clotted cream. If you’re looking for authentic British items while enjoying tasty tea and scones, Cano’s Collection is for you.

This tea room in the Cherry Creek area is run by a charming Welsh couple(and assorted family members) and has now been around for well over two decades. When you first step in you are confronted with a range of delicious British products that you can purchase. I always gravitate toward the Cadbury chocolate — now that I don’t visit the UK as much anymore I have less of an opportunity to gorge myself, and here I can buy as much as I like. But I always manage(surprisingly) to exercise a modicum of self-control because I know if I get too carried away, I can’t properly enjoy the main reason I travelled to Fillmore Street in the first place. Yes, Canos Collection(also known as The Welsh Dragon) offers impeccably-brewed tea, along with a number of very British small meals(pies, sandwiches, and so on) for your delectation. If you are so inclined, you can opt for High Tea, in which case you can get truly potty while sampling sweet and savory items. But sometimes, there’s nothing like just tea and a scone too. And if you catch them on the right day, you might even be able to get your cuppa with one or more thick, dense Welsh Cakes(Picau ar y Maen) but I’d call first to make sure they have them available. Da boch chi! And thanks for reading.
