Holy crowded park, Batman! It’s been ages since I attended City Park Jazz and then I could walk there from my apartment. Otherwise, parking is a complete hassle. As tempting as it might be to park in the park, I’d park outside of it to avoid any potential traffic snarl. My friend did have a suggestion for this event — rename it to City Park Music. Their outdoor music program covers a wide range of music and doesn’t just stick to jazz. Of course, I’d prefer Wynton Marsalis’ definition: «jazz is music that swings,» but jazz has many definitions.

Awful. Noisy and messes up parking all over the surrounding neighborhoods, and people leave their trash and food scraps everywhere. Brings in people that are rude and inconsiderate, and disturbs the neighborhood vine.

I love walking over to City Park Jazz on Sundays in Denver! What a great way to spend the evening outside with a group of friends, enjoying a free concert, snacking on finger foods and sipping on wine.

Make sure you get to the park early to claim your spot. Jazz starts at 6pm, rain or shine. Lots of people play volleyball and games and picnic beforehand. There are also lines of food trucks from burgers to ice cream. The park is dog friendly too.

GREAT summer event. One of those evenings that makes you fall more in love with Denver! Although the music is amazing, this isn’t the highlight of the evening. The park is FILLED with people… people picnicking, drinking, playing lawn games, or just hanging around with their dogs. Get there early because parking gets crazy but there is always a spot to be found. I highly recommend biking t the event! You can bring snacks or there’s a food truck row that sets up from beginning to end. can be as relaxing or as fun as you like

City Park is a pleasant place to hang out with a group of friends, but the only discernable«jazz» was some pre-recorded jazz-lite stuff that sounded like it belonged in an elevator or a TJ Maxx. Also, it’s a big park so if you want to hear it, you have to sit pretty close. I expected something live and hopefully good. A nice place to exist on a nice day, especially with friends, but bring your own music.

Get here early and set up your picnic spot. We parked in NE side of Ferril Lake next to the zoo and had to walk a bit so will try to find closer parking on SW side next time. Lots of food trucks present like Biker Jim’s Dogs and Steuben’s Food Service.

I am now on year 2 of making it to these events most Sundays and I think that everyone else should pull out a blanket, some snack foods, beverage(not in glass), and hangout in the park. Event Schedule: 6−8pm every Sunday(June — September) Last year for a friend’s Birthday of group of us decided to just head down a bit early setup some yard games, a friends, a canopy, and go! It was a nice little Sunday of drinking games that you would play in your backyard, and the BBQ to boot. Oh and did I mention that there are thousands of other people around? And food truck to get the taste of the burger you just grilled to death? Yup all of that, and a lot more. Take a look, why not it is free.

I love this event! Free concerts each summer, ending the weekend on a wonderful note! Bring a blanket, bring some snacks, bring rain gear(it usually rains a bit depending on the sunday!) As the years have progressed, food trucks have been brought in, there is free bike parking. Spend the day, enjoy the park and the music, and remember to donate!

Bring a blanket or some chairs, some snacks and favorite beverages or cash as there will be plenty of food truck options, and enjoy the lovely summer evenings iwth great music. This event truly shows the diversity of Denver… many cultures and people from different paths enjoying the lovely scenery and great music. Show up early and find a close spot to the stage if you want to quietly listen to the music or dance infront of the stage… or, come later, find some space further away from the stage, to enjoy time with family and friends over a picnic with some great backgorund music If you have a bike, it is the best way to get there instead of having to search for parking and you can drop off your bike at the bike dropp off where a team will even look after your bike

What is better than hanging out in the park and listening to some jazz? This is a great even for families and groups. I would recommend getting there VERY early(1pm/2pm) to get the best seats(in the shade). The ONLY issue I have is that sometimes with the sheer amount of people who show up, it’s hard to hear the music. I would like to see the event organizers put some PA speakers around the park so people can hear better without having to give up a good shady spot. They do have food trucks and places to buy water/beer, but it is definitely cheaper to bring your own foods.

So fun! City Park is a picturesque setting for some great jazz in the summer. Lovers, friends, families — everyone comes out to enjoy Denver evenings. Most people bring food into the park, lay out the spread, and sit back and relax. If you don’t bring in your own, fear not! The food trucks abound and I could resist getting a small serving of caramel ice cream from one of them. Delicious and perfect to top off a wonderful evening. I was completed delighted and sad that I only caught the end of the season. I’ll look forward to it for next summer.

What can you say? What a treat to have in Denver! Live music, great vibe and fun atmosphere. Bring food, drinks, games, kids or whatever and sit back and enjoy the show! Definitely a way to spend your Sunday kickin’ back listening to tunes, or dancing while catching a whiff of all the goodies from the food trucks. Justin Bieber could play here and I’d have a great time. It’s THAT good. Couple things… Parking is brutal, ride bike or car pool. Get there early to get a prime spot to listen and dance. Bring some change or a couple bucks to donate to keep this event going.

We make it to City Park Jazz once a year. I wish it was more, but that’s just not how it ends up. Even then, it’s a great time. You should go. more than we do. Bring some wine, snacks, and listen to awesome musicians in an incredible setting with other people who like live music.

Best concert of the season and free. Yahooooo. «Tuxedo Junction» totally rocked last night at the Pavilion on City Park Lake. Big band songs, tributes to the Andrew Sisters, Frank Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, and more, all played while we danced our shoes off in front of a magnificent rainbow-highlighted sunset, a fountain light show, and a rockin’ swing band. Tis a privilege to live in Colorado!

I dig City Park Jazz. I like walkin up with my cooler and my yard games, planting somewhere on the lawn, and listening to some music. It’s not always distinctly jazz per se, but it’s definitely a free fun Sunday night activity. Watch out for goose poop!

Wow. The performers were awesome. The park is packed to the brim. There is free bicycle parking by the building facing the pond — how awesome is that? My ears were happy with the music. Standing room only, if you arrived late, like I did. It is totally worth coming earlier and settig up shop with some friends. The End.
