I loved everything here. Had the crab cakes, the wontons, the sausage penne, the chicken angel hair, and the tiramisu. So amazing and I loved the art in the walls.

I take everyone I know here when there’s an occasion and have coverted many into regulars. The food is amazing and service is genuine. I usually get the special on the board or the kids spaghetti which is amazing. All spaghetti are not created equal and this one is one of the best. On one Valentines day we had a seafood pasta with soft shell crab that was incredible. The mussels are small but plentiful and good quality and really good broth. I loveeee Cody’s and miss it since moving back home. Which I must mention they sweetly gave the table free dessert for my going away party. Such gracious hosts. Rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it.

Come for the food but make sure you stay for the dessert. We have been regulars here for a while. Always great friendly service. Never eaten anything I disliked. Dessert is to die for. Pizza has soft but still chew dough. Marinara sauce clearly made in house as it tastes like, well, tomatoes. Lemongrass sausage puts an Asian spin on an Italian staple. Try it on pizza or in pasta. Pasta served at appropriate texture. Just the right chew so not like mush but no crunch either. Fish and chips battered and fried to order. Always fresh fish. Desserts — chocolate hazelnut wonton. Served on fresh, never crystallized ice cream, and in season fruit. In season fruit people. Special desserts include peach cobbler during peach season and chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. Cake is scratch just the perfect mix of dutched cocoa and fat. Great moisture and texture. Small resturaunt so make reservations(which they take) or come early.

This is the biggest hidden gem in the area. The outside looks like nothing, but Cody is an amazing chef who swings by to ask how things are and talk about where to get fresh ingredients daily. I go every chance I get.

We went to Cody’s last night for what we hoped would be a wonderful dinner. We arrived at 6:03 pm and were told there would be a 30 to 45 minute wait which was fine and a couple of minutes later the hostess came by and said the wait would only be 5 — 10 minutes. There is no place to wait other than stand in the doorway so we gave her our phone number and told her we would wait outside. After about 25 minutes some customers went in and were seated right away so my husband went in and he was seated! They then called the cell phone. After being seated, we were given water and bread and a few minutes later we placed our order. As we waited, we saw numerous orders carried out to be delivered, some order pick-ups, other guests come and eat and leave and we still had not gotten our appetizers nor had anyone checked on us. We managed to get the hostess/waitresses attention and asked her what the problem was. She said she would see to our appetizers and would comp them since we had waited over an hour. About 15 minutes later, one appetizer arrived — they had forgotten the other one! We waited about 7 — 8 minutes for that one and at that point we decided to leave and get some tacos at fast food — it was now past 8:30 pm. The hostess was nice enough but comping two appetizers($ 5.95& $ 2.95) did not seem like a lot and the owner was there and never even came out to apologize. They did not seem to care, even when it was clear that our order was never put in. All the hostess said was«you know it is a small kitchen». Ruined our evening — ate fast food at home at 9:00 pm — ugh! Will never go back, which is unfortunate as we were all really looking forward to trying the food as it had been highly recommended.

I’d actually give Cody’s 3.5 stars. We got lunch for 8 people from there. The manager herself delivered the food, which was nice. Some of us who had fries really liked them, but one of my co-workers said his were very greasy. The fish part of the fish and chips was overdone, really crunchy and dry on the ends. We’ll probably order from them again, but we’ll go get it rather than have it delivered.

Overheard the lady at the table next to us that her say that her angel hair w/shrimp was a party in her mouth. If that not a great review I don’t know what is. The Eggplant Parm I had was delicious as well.

Our table ordered BBQ Chicken Hawaiian pizza, margueritta pizza, bruschetta, sausage penne pasta, and this amazing chocolate cake thing that our awesome waitress suggested. Service: excellent. Hands down, 10⁄10. Drinks were refilled quickly, waitress was polite and on top of it. Food: Jesus fuck I didn’t expect everything to be this good. The bread for the table was yeasty and warm and fresh and it came with oil/vinegar to dip. The pizzas were perfectly cooked, crisp bottoms and bubbly cheese. We preferred the sweet/savory combo of the Hawaiian pizza, but both were outstanding. The bruschetta was good, but I prefer a higher tomato ratio. It was four slices of bread with bruschetta on top and the whole thing toasted. Very flavorful. I’m actually writing this as I’m waiting on the cake so I can’t commit on the dessert yet. We hit up the dispensary for edibles that are just starting to kick in so I’m sure this cake will fulfill my life in just a few minutes. Anyways, definitely check this place out for low cost deliciousness.

It was an amazing dinner out with my husband! Our server was very attentive but also gave us enough space that we could carry on a whole conversation. It’s a very family friendly place that also has a full bar. We had the mussels appetizer and they also brought bread and oil to dip it in. For our main courses we had the grilled chicken Alfredo and the crispy eggplant penne. 5 stars isn’t enough for this amazing food! The ambience was wonderful, the lighting was great and the scenery was nice. It was more than we expected as it looked dingy from the outside and was in a strip mall.

Like other reviews mention, Cody’s doesn’t look like much from the outside, but they have a lot to offer! They, not only, serves your classic Italian dishes(pizza and pasta), but also serve wontons, fish tacos, burgers, and other pub-ish foods; they are not your typical pasta/pizza Olive Garden. I had the Bombay Fish Tacos($ 9.95) and they were probably one of the most delicious little things I have had in quite some time! There was a lot of flavor from the house sauce and a perfect balance between sweet/spice/salty from the mango salsa to the fish to the tiny bit of homemade guac and the fresh cabbage! I had the fish pan roasted(instead of fried) and there was still a bit of excess oil in the tacos. Nothing a little napkin can’t soak up, though. The tacos were itty bitty and came with five dinky chips(so generous! — sarcasm, are you picking it up?), but enough to make leave me satiated. I had some delicious(free) bread, so I left the restaurant pretty stuffed. I’d say the portions were just right for little ‘ol me! My partner had the Artichoke Penne($ 12.95) and enjoyed it. I tried a bite and the sauce was very dense and full of stuff(veggies, I think), but it was on the sweeter side. There weren’t as many artichokes as we had hoped — we had to search for them — but they were there! The penne was cooked to perfection and there was a good pasta to sauce ratio — saucy! My sister had the Grilled Chicken Fettuccine($ 11.95), but found the sauce to be on the soupier side. The portions weren’t as big as Olive Garden(I don’t know why I keep comparing everything to Olive Garden), but they were more than what one should be consuming at one meal. Anyway, good portions. The service was extremely slow the night I was here. The guy waiting our table was attentive, but not… That makes no sense. He was slow to take our orders, and we had to wave him down a few times. Another lady started helping out later on and was quite prompt, but only helped out the last 5 – 10 minutes, so I wasn’t too impressed by the service. And, to me, the service of a restaurant will always affect how the food tastes. Slow service + hanger = not optimal experience. But I’m just being picky. This is a nice little spot, if you’re in the mood for slow-cookin’ Italian with a twist.

I was real skeptical about this place, because it’s on a busy corner of Iliff in a little strip mall, but it’s a hidden gem, trust me. The food is delicious and filling, with classics and new twists equally represented. I had a salmon salad for dinner with fruit and goat cheese, and the flavor was like nothing I’ve had — sweet, salty, mildly acidic, and creamy. Seriously amazing, I’d order it again in a heartbeat. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly. We ordered a special ginger-beer cocktail called a «Crabbie», and not only was it delicious, but when we finished them the waitress took the remaining bottles of ginger beer and topped us off. Definitely give it a try. Nice with friends or for a date definitely.

Tried this place for my birthday dinner last night. Pretty darn amazing. Here’s what we had: Apps Crab cake taco — delicious, the sweet potato chips that come on the side are homemade and are delish! Spinach cheese wontons — the spinach is mixed in with the cheese, creamy and yummy inside, crunchy and fried outside Goat cheese crostini — Nice blend of sweet and savory, mixing the unions and cheese made it great Entrees Artichoke penne — vodka sauce was soooo good! My favorite pasta of the two Lemongrass sausage penne — the sausage is bit sweet(I prefer spicy) but still very good Desserts Tiramisu — creamy and sweet, this was to die for! Bread pudding — one of the best I’ve had They have free wifi, and if you live around there you know that not very many restaurants on Havana offer this. I’ll be back!

Would never expect such a nice décor from the outside strip mall façade. Stopped by after a google search for«best Italian lunch» and boy were we ever impressed!!! Prices were very good, $ 5.95 for a very tasty meatball sub with the Misto salad, and $ 6.95 for the Fettuccine which had a really rich Alfredo cream sauce accompanied by fresh portobello mushrooms and broccoli with no skimping on the garlic! Looking forward to coming back for a happy hour to try some of the signature cocktails and then dinner… tonight’s specials are a 4 cheese vegetable lasagna and an Alaskan Halibut in a mushroom brandy cream sauce… Wow!

Finally got to go here. Went on ½ price bottled wine night. That is a really good deal. The place was very busy and every table had a bottle of wine on it. Because they were very busy, all of our food took a very long time. They did give us a free dessert as an apology that all of our food took so long. So, there was that. Atmosphere. Like everyone says, it is in a cheesy strip mall and you just wouldn’t venture in here on your own. THANKGODFOR Unilocal or these places would never get new business. I can’t tell you how many amazing mom-n-pop restaurants I found by trusting Unilocal. So, yes, Unilocal reviews are the only reason I wanted to check this place out. Very glad I did! It’s a cozy, updated venue and was comfortable. I would call their food American Italian Fusion. We had the Crab Cake Wrapped Sugar Cane. This was fun, and scrumptious, but not enough to share for 4 people. They did bring us a lot of warm, crusty bread and dip, so that worked fine for whetting our appetites. For entrees, my date an I shared the Lemongrass Sausage Penne. This was so good that we almost licked the bowl. Our friends had the Chicken Parmesan and said it was very good. For dessert we got the Tiramisu and the Bread Pudding. Both of these were classically made and delicious. Everything disappeared before I could take photos. That’s a good thing. So, would definitely go back and can definitely recommend.

Soooo good. Yes, it’s a small place with limited staff. Our server was knowledgeable, the food was a great surprise given the odd strip mall location. We ordered a pizza, spaghetti and meat sauce, won-tons & crostini for appetizers and a chocolate hazelnut dessert that came in a martini glass. Nobody walked away hungry or overly full. It was just great flavors and tasty food.

This is a nice hole-in-the-wall type of place. The outside decorations/sign does not do justice for the quality of food and atmosphere that this little café/bar has to offer. The good: the atmosphere is very«low key.» As you walk in, you see a very modern and elegant, small restaurant(café). I was actually quite shocked from the difference between the outside and inside, but never judge a book by its cover! They very friendly staff, and we were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. We got there right before the dinner rush. I brought my almost 2yo son and they were very accommodating to him, although I did feel the elegant like atmosphere demeaned the kid friendliness, but nonetheless, the waiter and host had a smile on their face every time they checked on us and didn’t mind picking up things my son had dropped on the floor. The food is amazing! I had an order of the seafood linguine and my mouth was in euphoric shock! The portions of seafood were very generous and the linguine was cooked to perfection(not to hard, not to mushy), and the sauce had a very sweet, yet little kick to it. Even the kids cheeseburger was amazing! I took a bite of his hamburger, and thought that this has to be one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while! There’s a salty seasoning that is charred on and it compliments the burger very well! My son almost ate the whole thing! The bad: My seafood linguine had a strand of hair in it, however once I brought it to the attention of the waiter they took the dish and cooked up a fresh new plate for me, no questioned asked, and threw in a free desert! The hair didn’t ruin my appetite, but I was a rod bit nervous to eat the second dish, but once I took the first bite, it was heaven all over again! I still give this place 5 stars.

This café doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s very tastefully decorated inside — cozy, warm, inviting, but a little on the dark side. And SMALL — there are maybe 15 tables all together, which made me ask my server how in the world they host poker nights. Her answer: it pretty much takes up the whole restaurant, leaving only the booths along the wall open for dining. The menu has a good selection and the pastas are all very reasonably priced in the low $ 10 range. Added bonus: Unilocal check-in deal for a free dessert with purchase of two entrees! I ordered the crispy eggplant penne — diced, tempura fried eggplant in a homemade vodka sauce. I LOVED that sauce — it was very thick and veggie-based, lots of garlic and peppers! For dessert we decided to splurge and tried the crème brulee and the tiramisu. Both were excellent, but we especially loved the boozy and very large slice of tiramisu; one of the best I’ve had and a really great deal at under $ 6. The only reason Cody’s doesn’t get 5 stars is the service, which wasn’t bad, but considering that we were one of two tables being served that night, I would expect our server to be a little more attentive about keeping our drinks filled and bringing the check out quickly.

Saturday April 12th2014. Arrived at this establishment @17:05hrs ish, though our Dinner Meetup was scheduled for 17:30hrs. Cody’s Café & Bar you break my heart. You break my heart into tiny pieces. Yes, I know I bring a BIG group like 8 of my friends to you, you already have our table ready. But I guess, The BACKUP From The Kitchen made things went south. aka VERYBAD — *Sad Face* — *VERYVERYSAD* @18:00hrs we received our first appetizers. During service, my friends who sat on my Right, received their Appetizers orders first, then like 30 minutes later, my friends who sat on my LEFT then received their Appetizers. Yes, I know there are OTHER Patrons beside our Party having Dinner here too. I received my Appetizers of Mussels($ 10.95) @ 18:05hrs. I like my Appetizers order which are the Mussels. Who can get it wrong right? But it was too lukewarm for my taste bud. *SADFACEINDEED* I wanted to return this dish back to the server, but was afraid, that I might not received it for another 30 minutes later… @18:25hrs, my friends who sat on my left then received her order of Appetizers.(Crab Cake Wrapped Sugar Cane)($ 8.95) @18:30hrs, I received my order of Fish and Chips($ 9.95) As for my Fish and Chips order, it was just«MEH» coz the fries were too COLD by the time I received it, and the Fish though fried battered, nothing stood out at all for this dish. *DOUBLESIGH* @19:00hrs, my friend who sat on my Right, then received her Main Entrée Order(Lamb dish) following, a Chicken Dish Main Entrée. My friend who ordered the Lamb, thought it was Lamb Shank, with the bones, but when she received her order, it was just slices or pieces of Lamb meat. This dish was highlighted on the Black Board as part of the Day Specials. From my friends feedbacks they said: * The food is NOTWORTH the Wait. * TRIPLESIGH* * For the ENTREE Portions, it was too tiny and too little for their liking. All in all, I guess this is an isolated incident. Maybe Cody’s CANNOT held large party with 9 guests at one seating. Maybe if there is a LARGE Party, Cody’s should provide more servers or wait-staffs, coz almost at the end of our Dinner, even though I specifically request for more water, our wait staff/server is NOWHERE to be seen. I feel bad for my friends. Coz I have friends who live all the way in Loveland, and travel down to Cody’s to dine with me, were also disappointed and felt torn about the evening they had. I feel very bad introducing them to you Cody. Indeed you broke my heart into pieces… NOTETOSELF, to return«MAYBE» but NOTIN A HURRY… OR perhaps DONOTBRINGBIGGROUPS to this establishment.(PERIOD!!) Left this establishment at about 19:40hrs ish. My apologies for this Rant. Cody’s Café and Bar 10253 E. IIiff Avenue Aurora, CO80014 Tel:(303)-750−1580 @80/2014
