I really enjoyed my order both times I’ve ordered from here. The garlic bread with goat cheese is especially awesome.

Hello, gorgeous. Get in ma’ tummy! Really great food, down to earth servers who aren’t pushy and plenty of seating. A delight.

I have been known to eat my fair share of pizza. Why? because pizza, much like the sandwich, is incredibly versatile. Pizza can be made delicious in a myriad of ways and in my opinion, Denver Deep Dish does a damn fine job at their take on pizza. The crust is thick and pastry-like in texture. The mozzarella is generous but not too thick. The sausage they use on their pizza is excellent and, consequently, I find myself ordering a simple sausage, peppers, and onions pizza more often than anything else. Although they deliver, their quoted timing can be hit or miss. They are generally right on time with pick up orders. Show up 10 min early, grab a beer at the Bar Car, and listen to some Johnny Cash while you wait for your pizza. In a nutshell: Food: very good Price: 20 – 30 bucks for a pizza that will fill up 3 – 4 normal people.(I’ve killed a whole pizza there before, my arteries have not yet forgiven me…) Overall bang for your buck: pretty good.

Denver deep dish is on the corner of 8th and Colorado. Actually it’s inside towards the back of the«Bar Car» bar. I believe the story goes the owner had moved to Denver and hadn’t found any pizza that he enjoyed so he decided to start making it himself for friends and family. Over time, enough people told him it was good enough to start a business around it. Truthfully I enjoy it. It’s thick, it’s hearty, and it hits the spot. It’s proximity to a bar(inside of one) and I *believe* you can buy by the slice now(?) earns it some points. I still think for the same money though I’d rather get a(deep) pie at Patxi’s not too far away. Good to have options though.

Some of these reviews reference Chicago deep dish… not sure why… Denver Deep Dish is yummy but it’s not Chicago Style Deep Dish nor do they claim to be. That’s good because I’m a native Chicagoan. Great thin and deep dish. Garlic knots are great. I always get the Spinach salad with house dressing. Dressing has always been fresh and isn’t bottled stuff. This is my go-to pizza spot.

Love this place! Denver Deep Dish is where it’s at! Tucked away in the back of the Bar Car, it really is a hidden gem. At first glance, I didn’t even know it was there. This is the best deep dish pizza I’ve had in Denver. I noticed a few reviews commenting on the wait time, and have to respectfully disagree with their disappointment. Like most things made by folks that truly love what they do and are serious about their craft, It takes a bit of time. All the better to kick back and enjoy a cold brew and good conversation with your group. Trust me, no one will be talking once your delicious pizza gets to the table! So happy to have stumbled upon this little hole in the wall and would recommend it to anyone looking for the best pizza in town! Two thumbs up!

Just plain irritated. I had to call to remind them about my order after waiting for an hour and a half. Pizza arrived promptly after I called… yay…pizza not right… boo. He offered me 25% off my next order… I said how about replacing the pizza with the one I ordered and paid $ 36 dollars for… he said yes… and then got bent out of shape when I clarified that I wanted the pizza replaced now. He just short of yelled at me about how busy they were being Super Bowl Sunday and all… and he didn’t think I wanted to wait another two hours. No sir, I don’t. I just hung up. It’s Super Bowl Sunday. it happens once every year. Your in the pizza delivery business. Your going to get your ass handed to you… all night long… this should not be a surprise to you… what do you do? You staff appropriately. Problem solved. Pizza was just all right and was pricey. I would pay anything for real Chicago style pizza. This was close, but not quite it. I’m back on the hunt.

If you like favlorless, charred, fatty, undercooked wings, this is totally the best place in Denver. Also, someone in our party who ordered pizza got an uncut pie. So enjoy doing their work for them!

I just wanted to point something out quickly that people are complaining about. After reading many of the reviews, there are quite a few people complaining that their pizza was not cut when they either picked it up or had it delivered. If you go to the Denver Deep Dish website, it plainly states… in BIGBOLDLETTERS… that they do NOT cut the pizza to keep the integrity of the crust!!! It would make it soggy if they cut it before hand. I’m sure that if you request them to cut it for you… they would happily do so :)

Wow. I am really not picky. I’ve never even written a review of anything anywhere. I live in Chicago, came to denver for the weekend, ordered deep dish, knowing it most likely wouldn’t be the same, but that’s okay. I love lots of types of pizza. It’s pizza! THIS was BARELY pizza. Not at all deep dish, which I could forgive… IFYOURNAMEWASNOTDENVERDEEPDISH. And the crust was… crazy dry and bland and fell apart when trying to cut the pizza at home(shouldn’t it be cut already?). In short — this was terrible pizza no matter what you were going for(except school lunch pizza… maybe).

Do NOT order from here using the Eat 24 app. Called tonight after order was 45 min late and was told they got busy a little while ago. Funny, I ordered at 4:00 and requested a 6:00 delivery. So 2 hrs and 45 minutes is too little time to cook a pizza… Sure are a lot of pizza joints in Denver for this one to survive with this kind of service. Followed the Unilocal suggestions. My bad i guess.

I really prefer thin crust, and if you do too then don’t hesitate to try this place. The crust is more like a cracker crust, with minimal cheese. Great pizza. I would recommend the sausage forest lovers. The spinach, mushroom and peppers for veggies. Great deal about this place is that it’s inside The Bar Car lounge, what better way to enjoy a great pizza than with a beer and a fun neighbor crowd. Then afterward you can cross the street to do your Trader Joes shopping.

I’m not usually one to go for deep dish pizza but wowza this stuff is fantastic! Met a friend here to watch a Bronco game and we shared a medium pie with bacon, sausage and a secret menu item you HAVE to try: giardiniera. Word to the wise: It’s deep dish pizza, not Little Caesar’s. Be patient and you won’t be disappointed!

As you likely already know, deep dish pizza is dangerously lacking in Denver. Denver Deep Dish does it to perfection. I would highly recommend pepperoni and goat cheese as the most perfect 4,000 calorie meal you may have ever experienced in a crowded, kind-of-smelly bar. Yeah, that’s one of the issues. Denver Deep Dish is located in the back of The Bar Car, which kind of sucks, but that’s a different review for a different day. Either way, I highly suggest take-out, which brings me to the other issue: plan ahead because you do not want to be bowled over by drunken slobs while you are waiting in a cramped corner for them to finish your pizza. It typically takes anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes. I would knock off a star for the failure to cut my pizza last time, but I have an arm and a pizza cutter so I wasn’t even mad. Pro-tip: if you order from the Eat24 app, you will get somewhere around $ 5 off your next order. Considering a medium, two-topping pie runs about $ 20, it brings it right around an appropriate price range.

I ordered garlic rolls and a meatball grinder for delivery via the Eat24 app. At BEST, mediocre. First of all, the garlic rolls. Or, garlic bites, or whatever the heck it is this place calls them. Because, these are /special/made from scratch garlic bites, the dough made fresh every day. Sound impressive, right? Well, take all of the things you probably like about garlic rolls… the firm but fluffy texture, the way the garlic and butter finds its way all the way to the center, nice chunks of garlic in the mix. Now, imagine none of that. Imagine garlic pucks. This is what they should be called on the menu. Garlic pucks. These are balls of extremely dense, dry dough lacking any sort of fluffiness or cholesterol-heightening garlic butter. These were hard to eat, and half of them are still just sitting in my fridge, because I gave up. They come with a side of marinara(bland), but every time I tried to dip the pucks, they would soak up none of the sauce. And, then there was the grinder. There was nothing /horrible/about the sandwich. It wasn’t great, though, and at $ 11, I expected a lot more. The meatballs were… well, they tasted like meatballs I would make if I tried, and I’m not the greatest chef. They were edible, but not good. The bread was soaked through and falling apart. The cheese was plentiful, but rather tasteless. I was insulted to have paid $ 11 for that sandwich. And, it was served with a handful of potato chips. $ 11 and I get cheap, stale potato chips? Not even some fries? Disappointing and expensive.

Tucked in the back of the Bar Car you’ll find Denver Deep Dish serving up some seriously tasty pies! Whether you’re craving their namesake or thin crust, you won’t be disappointed. DDD has got both styles spot on! One of my favorite pies here is the 505: New Mexican green chiles with chicken. Just thinking about it now is making me drool a bit. Don’t forget to try one of the sides! I really dig the garlic knots. The more carbs, the better! At least in my world… Awesome pizzas, fantastic service, and a great location inside one of my favorite bars. What could possible be better?

We love all kinds of pizza. Napolitano is our favorite style, but when we’re craving deep dish, we’ve found three great choices in Denver… Denver Deep Dish, Patxi’s, and Jimano’s(S Broadway in Englewood). You can’t go wrong with any of those. Delicious and satisfying. Denver Deep Dish is inside The Bar Car, which has a good selection of draft beers, and cheap draft prices during much of the day. The vibe in the bar is cool-divey. There are board games to play, and did I mention cheap beers?! The strategy that I use is: I order to take away. I arrive 5 – 10 minutes early to drink a draft before my pizzas are ready. The fam is none the wiser :-) . Patxi’s also has a solid draft selection. Jimano’s removed their taps for some reason.

This is a yummy pizza place hidden in the back of the Bar Car. It’s not immediately obvious driving by, but the bar and restaurant share space, which works out wonderfully, because Bar Car is excellent at cheap beer and Bar Car is excellent at pizza. Their personal pizzas are more than one serving, and they have plenty of topping options. I had the sausage, onion, and pepper last time, and it was a great combination– I’m not sure if the sausage was made there or not, but the quality was great. The chunky tomato sauce has just the right about of sweetness, and the crust held up to the pile of sauce, cheese and toppings quite well. My friend(the purist) had a thin crust cheese pizza and said that there’s better thing crust pizza out there, but that it was still good(and she had tons left over). I am the daughter of a Brooklyn-ite, and as such am not very experienced in Chicago style pizza, but I have to say this was delicious! Patxi’s may have been a little bit better quality, but the vibe/style at DDD is totally different, and it’s also half the price, which is definitely a major plus. I will definitely be back for happy hour, and only wish they were open for lunch!

I don’t like deep dish pizza. I’m a NY style pizza lover. I feel that deep dish is just a lot of dough and it weighs me down. Not at Denver Deep Dish. This place was kinda hard to find at first since it’s not a standalone store. It’s inside The Bar Car and what better place to have a pizza joint than inside a bar? Beer and pizza? I’m down! The first time I went I wasn’t sure about the pizza so I gave a personal pan 7″ a try. I ordered the bacon with pineapple. I was expecting a greasy, doughy pizza but I ended up getting a light, clean sauce with almost fluffy crust that tasted really light. I was thoroughly surprised! Could I be a Chicago style fan?! I think so! I really enjoyed their red sauce on the pizza since I’m a huge tomato fan and they have little chunks of tomatoes all over it, it’s almost an additional topping! The crust is crispy on the edges and nice and almost chewy under the toppings. They are very generous with their toppings as I found out the 2nd time I visited this location since the first time it was just a 7″… We ordered sausage, green peppers and mushrooms this time. The sausage is not your typical rabbit turd size that you get from chain pizza stores like Mark P. had mentioned. It’s nice bite size with great flavors. The green peppers and mushrooms are both hearty as well. I thought the bf and I were gonna order a Medium and have some to take home… yeah, that didn’t happen. We killed the pizza in one sitting it was THAT good. I also tried the Mile High Meatballs too and it was definitely something I’ve never had before. it’s like a miniature balls of meat sandwich all combined together. It’s got sausage, cheese, spices and flour all rolled up in a ball served with some kind of lime chipotle dip. Delicious! If you’re expecting a meatball you might be disappointed, but if you’re expecting to try something new and actually love it, you’re in for a treat! DDD also serves single slices if you are in the mood for just a couple slices or if you want try all different toppings on different slices. One of the owners favorite is their pepperoni, pineapple and jalapenos… that’s why it’s also on the menu. This is definitely not your $ 5 no wait pizza you get from yucky Little C’s that only tastes decent as soon as you bought it.(And like rubber the next day you try to eat it.) You might pay a little bit more for the gourmet pizza but you’re also getting quality ingredients as well as tasting-amazing-the-next-day-cold pizza. Oh yeah, they also have thin crust that’s really delicious as well! Go get yourself a pie from here, this is coming from someone who doesn’t like deep dish.
