Plain and simple. Keith of Donald’s Computer Outlet ripped me off. I needed a new laptop keyboard. 6 months later I needed a new one and specific keys did not work. I bought a new one up front. He promised to call when it came in, He never called. I followed up and brought my computer in to get the new one installed. He did it while I waited out front. I took it home without checking it first and the space bar and same keys were totally messed up. I called him and reported that it was still having problems. He was rude and said he would order another one and call me when it comes in and practically hung up on me. Two weeks go by, and no call. He said it would take a week. I follow up and he makes every excuse in the world to not install it and to not give me my money back. I followed up with a couple more calls after his pathetic shop went remote and no call back. Keith is a rip off artist. Beware.

When my clunky old laptop stopped holding a charge, the IT guy at work figured out it was a problem with the charger cord. He suggested I go to Donald’s to get a new one. I called first to make sure he had what I needed in stock and, sure enough, he did. I swung by during my lunch hour and picked up the cord at a price comparable, if not cheaper, than what I researched online. When I was ready to get rid of that old dinosaur of a laptop, I went back to Donald’s because he recycles computers for FREE. I wasn’t able to completely wipe out the hard drive because(1) I’m not that tech savvy, and(b) my laptop from last decade didn’t include the menu options Dell tells you to use(thanks, Windows Vista!). I was assured that the hard drive would get a DOD wipe before it’s shredded to be recycled into aluminum cans and such. I also took in a desktop computer that burned itself out(Mr P. kept the hard drive for that one) and an old Blackberry phone with a dead battery that bloated up when I removed it. There’s no doubt I’ll be back any time I need to keep an electronic device out of the landfill. Easy and free street parking is available on this relatively quiet block of Colfax.

Although the shop looks and has old equipment the service here is exceptional. We took in several ‘dead’ computers and had the hard drive contents moved to a new external hard drive. The service was better than Geek Squad and the price was exceptional. They have our business going forward.

This is an old school shop that can probably help fix PC’s made in the 90’s. I took a laptop there and the man with missing teeth told me that my computer was gay.
