By far the best Mexican restaurant. I make the drive from Highlands Ranch frequently just to eat here.

I’d give this a 3.5 if I could — a little better than a 3 but not quite a 4. Mostly the service held down the score. Our server was polite but not particularly attentive. The restaurant wasn’t busy but they still appeared to be understaffed for a Friday night. The food is good — large, multi-page menu — lots of seafood dishes — some Tex-Mex but lots of dishes with greater complexity. The menu and food remind me of Tequilas and El Tapatio(but I would rate them both half a notch higher) — if you like those, you’re likely to like El Jalisciense. Bottom lines — good food, good portions, reasonable cost and value. More interesting menu options than just Tex-Mex, but doesn’t do anything to distinguish itself from its competition.

Honestly, I can make better mexican food at home with a can of Rosarita Refried Beans and Ortega taco shells and seasoning. I ordered the Tacos de Pescado and they were awful. I love spicy food, but this food was all spice and zero flavor. I’m not even sure it was fish on my tacos. The service was terrible and the bartender, who was also our waitress because she was the only one over 21 working, was really cranky. Portions leave a lot to be desired as well given the price. Definitely better places within just blocks of this joint. I’ll skip this place in the future.

Only a 3. I try to judge a Mexican restaurant by them being able to execute against the standards rather than just the chef’s favourite. My dinners so far: Taco’s al Carbon — Not Rick Bayliss, but tasty. Fajita’s — Okay — I like my green pepper to be soft, not raw. Pork Chops — Really thin and the green chilli is not the best. Whilst the Pork chops were thin, they were really good and I will order this again.

Terrible service and only okay food. The bartender was ultra bitchy… don’t waste your time. In a town of countless mexican restaurants count this one out!

I went here tonight with a good friend of mine who wanted to go there based on a recommendation from his friend. I ordered the chicken chimi and it was pretty good, though a lot of cheese and the green chili was just ok. Not the greatest green chili, but pretty decent. The chimi in general was pretty good overall, though a bit soggy due to the lots and lots of green chili and sour cream. The salsa was very hot with a lot of cilantro and the chips were good, came out hot, but a little stale. Wouldn’t really recommend this to go to.

Food-2 Service-5 The food wasn’t that great. The green chili definately needs improvement. The chips tasted like they had been cooked in really really old grease. My crispy relleno had so much oil inside that it covered ¼ of my plate when I squeezed it out. The margaritas were pretty good. Our server was exceptional.

Food here was alright. I don’t see any reason to go back though. I ordered one crispy and one soft Chilies Rellenos and the crispy one came out soggy. They had a good flavor but left me with heart burn that night and when I ate them as left overs. My boyfriend ordered the Campechana, which he enjoyed. Their salsa was flavorful and spicy hot, but the chips were just okay(they may have been a little old).
