Whenever people use the term fine art, I think this is just a codeword for expensive art. What makes some art more fine than other art? Well this is a philosophy of aesthetics question, which I feel really just boils down to opinion, and maybe an analysis of technique… maybe… But this aside, Ernest Fuller Fine Art is a gallery chalked full of fine art — using the expensive sense of the word. You mean that painting is 3 years of my salary and looks like it took a week to complete? Ok cool. The theme of this place is western, which means many oils of aspens and bronze statues of fish in a stream and Native Americans. Not my bag, but eh… The guy behind the counter was courteous and helpful, and they did have some decent stuff in the basement. A nice watercolor of a fly-fisherman for $ 500? See that’s actually reasonable compared to the $ 37,000 unimpressive oil located along the other wall. Only check this small gallery out if you are into the Western theme or I am afraid you will be unimpressed like I was.
