Marczyk is the fancy grocery store attached to the liquor store called Fairfax Wine & Spirits technically, but you are going to see the Marczyk name from the road. Small parking lot for patrons. You can run around both stores freely with stacked mini carts. However, due to some strange CO laws you must pay for alcohol inside the wine portion of the store and the food on the food side of the store. No mixing. Food portion of the store is stocked with excellent charcuterie, top end cheeses, olives, pickles, etc along with a full-on seafood and meat section with butcher so you can really prepare for a top notch beer or wine tasting. The alcohol portion of the store has about 90% of space dedicated to wine with beer in the back. Fridged six packs and singles with larger 750mL singles on nearby rack. Saw a couple of unrefrigerated hoppy beers, but for the most part, hoppy stuff was in the fridge. Saw breweries like Boulevard, Russian River but more interesting local brewers like River North, Eddyline, SKA, Upslope. I also saw some rarer AC Golden sours. Decent prices, nothing outrageous. Service is friendly. Overall, this is a great place to stock up on beer/wine and cheeses/charcuterie to really host a great tasting. They also sell some yummy looking premade sandwiches to go, though I didn’t try them.

Everyone at Fairfax is always helpful and friendly. Their recommendations are spot on, and are appreciated. The selection of wine and spirits are great, and the prices are reasonable.

Lots of local selections and a fun place to explore alcohol… it’s a small shop, but full of character… it’s connected to Marczyk’s on Colfax, so consider it part of the store — great owners who know customer service and how best to serve their loyal patrons.

The place for specialty spirit selection(I have yet to see Dimi or Pomecello at any other liquor store in town) and quirky-but-affordable wines. I believe they have some typical microbrew selections. If you’re looking for something more straightforward, the pricing and selection will be better elsewhere.

I make it a point to never go out on NYE for many of the same reasons I avoid Irish bars on March 17th. Don’t get me wrong I really enjoy drinking(when I’m not pregnant that is), but I’m not a huge fan of holidays that seem to lead people to believe that getting totally wasted is the only way to handle the day. And so for the past decade or so I’ve spent almost every NYE hosting friends at my own house and going to one of their homes to celebrate with a more intimate crowd and less projectile vomiting and bathroom crying. This year Sir Nicholas and I again were once again hosting and so around 6 pm on December 31st I realized I needed to make a run to the liquor store. Now, around my house there isn’t a terribly large selection of places to get booze. There is that one drive through place over by Cora Faye’s but that was an adventure for another time because after pulling into Marczyk’s to pick up a few snacks(fancy cheese, fruits, etc.) I realized Fairfax Wine and Spirits was right. there. The have a nice selection of wines at reasonable prices in this clean shop. And while the selection of non-wine here isn’t hugely extensive by any means what they do carry is locally focused craft brews and a tiny selection of spirits. It more than met my needs for the night as I was picking up champagne and beer for our guests. I was in and out in a flash with minimal damage to my wallet and everyone enjoyed the bevvies we had on hand later that night thanks to this cute little wine shop.
