I just LOVE the Festivus Film Festival! It is a 5-day event full of unique films, fun people and fantastic after-parties. This film festival has been running for 6 years in the Denver Highlands at The Oriental Theater. It runs Wednesday through Sunday and every day has multiple blocks of films(either a long feature or several short films). And, on most days of the festival, there is a post-film after party for socializing with filmmakers and enjoying libations. The film styles run the gamut. There are dramas, comedies, documentaries, thrillers and more. This year, they did an all-Colorado filmmakers evening. And, after the films, the filmmakers take the stage to answer questions from the audience. Rad! This is also the most inexpensive film festival you can attend. Just $ 10 gets you into any single block of films and this year they had a 2-for-1 block on Saturday. I got an all-access pass for just $ 75. Compare that to the Starz Film Festival or Boulder International Film Festival, let alone Sundance or Telluride. The Festivus Film Festival really is for the rest of us :)
