After getting a perfectly-sized Humble mini pie at the Big Wonderful Bazaar, I immediately became a groupie. They currently sell a wide variety of ridiculously tasty pies at a variety of farmer’s markets and through their website . And they will soon be opening a shop on East Colfax that allegedly will have pie-cocktail pairings, shakes, and savory pies!

They actually open at 8am. Learned that the hard way :( Aside from that, wow! Their quiches are superb! Coffee is delicious and well crafted and their dessert pies are a delight. The apple with cheddar crust is a standout. Be sure to pick up a personal 5″ pie if you can! Very excited for them to reopen.

We saw these guys at the Denver county fair and all i had to say was YUUMMM. The guy working the stand was so nice and helpful and the pie was perfect! We tried the berry pie and it was so good. It wasn’t too sweet or overwhelming, it was just right. Now, when I am driving by, I have to stop and get some. If you are in the nighborhood, stop by and try some pie.

Just want to say that I was all ready to give these guys a negative review after a recent pie mishap but the manager, James, was quick to follow up with my complaint, offer an apology and rectify the situation. I am very pleased with how everything was handled and will definitely go back to give them another chance. Sidenote: I noticed a few reviews comment on the pie prices and I think $ 20 for a pie is reasonable if it’s one of the best pies you’ve ever had. If you’re accustomed to eating those Perkins pies for $ 8, then yes, these pies do seem expensive… But you get what you pay for! Tried HP’s rhubarb variety and it was delectable considering I don’t even like rhubarb! Love me some chocolate pie so cannot wait to try one of those next time.

Can’t speak for the coffee but the pie is delightful! They sell Sweet Action ice cream which is the best accompaniment to any pie! I had the blackberry apple and vanilla ice cream and it was yummy! Will definitely make our way back to Humble Pie for more sweets! The only interesting thing is that they are moving to a new location at the end of the month and didn’t want to tell anyone where they were going. Weird business strategy but delightful none the less. I’d go back even if they go underground.

Um. The hazelnut and chocolate pie was an insane amazing trip to pie heaven. Black coffee and I’m set. I don’t care what the price is. They could charge me $ 19 for a slice of the thing and it would be worth every penny. Love this place

Pie! This is a cool little spot that I normally would not notice if it weren’t for driving toward ArtCrank. My friends were craving sweets and we had a birthday boy in our midst. The guy working the counter was very helpful with our requests, and though I was feeling full from my day of indulgence, I indulged again. I initially ended up receiving a warmed up apple cheddar pie due to some confusion, but we straightened that out and I ended up with two pies! I started with the palisade peace and blueberry pie(only available for three weeks) and that was quite delicious. Tip from a friend: exit the pie from its pie tin and you’ll have an easier time eating it.

HP is right down the street from my house and is def. utilizied every couple of weeks for coffee, and maybe even pie. This spot has a great selection of sweet and savyr pies, but the price point is what keeps me from trying all of them. Slightly high, I stick with the Americano every time, which is one of the best I’ve had in the immediate area. They use the local Huckleberry roasters and it’s always piping hot, coming down into a sour style after cooling. I really like HP’s ambience, even without couches or comfy chairs, it’s a place that I would like to camp out in. The temperature is fairly even and there is tons of sunlight pouring in from the 3rd street windows. The ladies behind the counter are always friendly, and seem genuinely glad to make me a cup! I love one of the pies, with rich velvety chocolate, baked into a flaky, buttery crust, and I’ve taken one home and eaten the whole slice in one sitting(which I wouldn’t reccomend doing because it is so rich). The ony thing I would add to that is the shop could use smaller to-go boxes and still make it out all right. shoot, even wrapping it in foil would be ok. I only say this because the boxes I have got allow the pie to slide around and get damaged(not that the taste gets damaged– but hey, w/e). Great wifi spot, great coffee, and a rewards program for both pie and coffee(buy 12, get one free).

A hidden gem in Baker. Sweet and savory pies and quiche, Bhakti chai, Teatulia tea, Bottle Rocket cold press juice, Rocky Mountain Soda Company, Sweet Action ice cream… I’m feeling the local love. A great place to have a relaxing lunch, a retreat for a treat, or take something delicious to go. Ask about the pie shake!

Although the pricing is quite high even for a local place with tasteful décor, your $ 6.50 isn’t totally thrown away… At the very least, you support a local small business, and at the very best, you truly enjoy your slice of pie. In fact, although I couldn’t justify going here regularly and buying slices of pie, I could see this place as a nice treat now and then. Further, despite the high prices, the slices are fairly large(like 11⁄3 pieces) and very, very tasty. I had a piece of the apple berry crumb pie, and the apple berry middle was just perfect – not overly sweet(perhaps not kid-friendly) with the perfect amount of sour. The crumb top on the other hand needed a little bit of work. When I tasted it by itself, I noticed it was pretty much just flour when, in practice, most of the crumble tops I have come across or made personally have a good dose of sugar in them. That would be the only recipe alteration I might make. Did I mention my co-eater just said, «MMMmmm» when she put a bit in her mouth? Bottom line: Get a pie-daddy, and you’ll notice nothing but how good the pie is here.

We came to humble pie on the recommendation of a friend and were so thrilled we did! It is in a cute neighborhood and has a great feel inside the building. They had 4 sweet and 4 savory pies to choose from. I wanted the chicken pot pie, but they were out so I chose the sweet potato, caramelized onion, and goat cheese pie. It was very good! I would absolutely get it again! The people I was with got pie shakes and loved them! I had never heard of anything like it. Come– check it out!

I hate to write a 1 star review, but to serve what you called ‘banana cream’ pie to the public is a sin. Yes, it slices cleanly… that’s because it has the consistency and taste of dried RUBBERCEMENT! I kid you not! Swear it on a stack of bibles sitting atop of my grandmother’s grave. How can you guys take vanilla pudding mix, overcook it by a LOT and pour this in to a half ass crust and thrust it on the public? It’s too bad, because your apple pie with the streusel top was pretty decent. But that banana cream pie tasted awfully artificial, dense like a brick, no banana flavor, and it’s a public health hazard.

Humble Pie is a nice little place with a sort of picturesque existence. A good place to stop in on a date or as part of a bike ride, after the Denver Art Museum, etc. It is on a quaint corner in a quaint neighborhood with a quaint interior and quaint furnishing and plateware. I quaintly approve of the pie, ice cream, and quiches in this establishment. DT

I randomly came across the Humble Pie Store the day before Thanksgiving and saw that they were sold-out of holiday pies. So, naturally, I thought I’d check if they have any available anyway and that’s when I saw on their menu: GLUTEN-FREEPUMPKINPIE. GLUTEN-FREE, GUYS. I also saw on their FB page that they have some pies for walk-ins only so, naturally, I thought I’d try call and put one on hold anyway. I called once. Twice. Three times and each time it went straight to voicemail AND their voicemail was full — wow! I went on their website, checked again to make sure I saw GF pie for walk-in and thought, let me just try one more time… I got through. I asked if there are any GLUTEN-FREEPUMPKINPIES left and Tamara said, «Let me check for you… Yes! There are five left.» This was barely 10am. «Please put one on hold for me please please please!!» And she said, «I’m so so sorry but we really can’t put them on hold today because they are first-come, first serve!!» And I started to cry(not really) but I suppose she took pity on me because she placed one on hold for me! Fast forward to Thanksgiving Day and I had the most glorious piece of perfect pumpkin pie with the best tasting whipped cream topping you ever did taste. I even got to eat the crust like a normal person. Everyone was like, «Ewww, gluten-free? WTF.» And it was like angels singing because I got to have all the pie to myself. So thanks ladies of the Humble Pie Store for a little slice of Heaven! Can’t wait to come back!

I’m not really a pie eater. In fact, I’m not really much of a dessert eater. I don’t understand why anybody would rather waste previous tummy space on sweets than on delicious animal flesh… never have. If a person is going to eat dessert, pie is not a bad way to go(well above cake but not up to the level of cobbler). Of course, the downside to eating pie is that it comes in a flavorless, dry crust. That is, unless you get a pie from Humble Pie. With a touch of magic and a boatload of sugar, Humble Pie has made a crust that is actually worth eating. And, of course, anything that they put inside of this sugary goodness is equally delicious. I’m not a dessert guy, but every time I go by Humble Pie I feel the pangs of temptation. Humble Pie offers the best pies in town, without a doubt(and they serve Sweet Action ice cream!). If I had one complaint, which I do, it would be that a hipster place like this ought to have better coffee and a much wider selection of tea. You’ve gotta wash the pie down somehow, right?

Very cute place indeed and I can understand it being a neighborhood favorite. For me, it probably wouldn’t be worthy of traveling down again unless they have the Chocolate Chess pie in stock or the Buttermilk Banana Pie, two of the sweet ones I’ve read all about it but eluded me, perhaps I’d arrived a bit too late on a Saturday. So we settled for the Strawberry Rhubarb and Cheddar Apple Lattice to satisfy our sweet tooth. The former was a pleasant surprise, in season is very important, when it comes to fruit pies and I’ll almost always pick custard/cream pies over fruit pies, but this one I would recommend. The apple one though, I can at least say I’ve tried a Cheddar pie crust but for a similar looking lattice pie, do go to Wednesday’s Pie(downtown) and ask for their Fresh Peach Pie, much much better. As for the savory offerings, I’m sorry to say the Chicken Pot Pie wasn’t impressive at all, I thought KFC’s was even more tasty. And the quiche(we had the Hatch Chili with Sausage and Pinto beans) was also on the under-seasoned side. Coffee was, coffee, nothing spectacular. Humble Pie is the place for you if you’re not crazy about bold flavors. I liked the service there, the girls sure are cute, busy, but friendly!

I’ve been craving the chicken pot pie since my last visit in April. We had another $ 20 Living Social coupon to use before it expired. I was disappointed with the Apple Cheddar Lattice pie. The pie was slightly heated. The crust and filling were dry. We shared this pie as an appetizer. My husband and I both ordered the 5″ Mushroom-Chicken-Prosciutto Pot Pie. My pie had bites of piping hot and luke-warm areas. My husband didn’t notice the temperature difference in his pie. The puff pastry crust was still good. We will be back during the Christmas holidays or Easter for their Coconut Cream pie.

I guess I’ll give them one more star for a much better selection today: Savory — Italian Meat, Chicken Pot, and White Bean/Veggie plus some quiches Sweet — Strawberry Rhubarb, Apple Crumb, Banana Cream We both had a small savory and a sweet. She the Chicken Pot — very good and I the White Bean/Veggie(very bland and cold in the center — wouldn’t recommend it). For sweet, she had the Strawberry Rhubarb(ice cold out of the fridge case — might have been tasty at room temp or warm but she preferred my banana cream). My banana cream was the best pie I’ve had here so far — lots of banana and the crust was crispy. Staff is über friendly and accommodating — place is cute. They seem to be getting their act together much more than the last visit. BUT, I just don’t think their product is worth the price. $ 31 bucks for lunch(just drank water) plus tip today.

There are several reasons I believe Humble Pie should not be humble: 1. The space that they have created is beautiful! The natural light, the exposed brick, the beautiful floors, the cozy tables… I could go on. This truly is a place I can imagine coming with a laptop and some work to do or a good book and lingering for awhile. 2. The chocolate pie was a slice of heaven(pun intended)! It had an Oreo-esque crust, perfect chocolate filling and the right amount of whipped cream. I am not even necessarily a pie person, but this was to.die.for! That said, all this beauty was almost lost on me due to the poor service. There were 3 people working at the counter(to be fair, one was making coffee) and no one could seem to help me! Instead, the two women working talked to one another for a good 2 – 3 minutes before talking to me. Really?! Perhaps I wasn’t hipster enough to raise an eyebrow? Next time I’ll wear more than just my hat from Anthro, and hope to get better service. I’d love to see this place thrive, as I live just a little over a block away, but to get more stars from this reviewer, better service is required.
