After reading reviews, four of my friends and I decided to go in anyway as we had a bag of old coins we were looking to learn more about. The older man working was absolutely awful, and rude. I had to address him twice to even be acknowledged, and once we put the coins on the table, he started sifting and was mocking what we brought in. That wasn’t even the bad part. My friend literally put his finger on one of the coins WE brought in and the older man GRABBEDHISHAND, and squeezed and it threw it aside and got snappy and physical with him for touching his own coins. I do not recommend this place at all. They clearly do not respect or appreciate their customers. Absolutely awful people.

I called L and L up to ask them how much over spot they were selling their 1oz Gold American Eagles and they quoted me $ 25 over spot. I drove from Castle Rock only to have them re-quote me $ 125 over spot! Nobody sells Gold Eagles for $ 125 over spot. They lied on the phone. Most sell for 50 – 70 over spot. Everywhere else is cheaper than these people. Not only that, they insinuated that I was a liar and then asked if I thought they were liars. Lol some nerve…

Upon arriving walking into this business we found it to be very filthy and smelling of smoke. That goes to show the type of professionalism of the man who was working there who was loud and rude and too lazy to get up and fingered for us to come to him. He would not even look at what we brought in to talk to him about which were some coins. Said it would take $ 150 for him just to look at we said what if they’re not worth that much he said that’s why I’m charging 150 what a jerk going somewhere else.

Went into L&L to see what an inherited coin collection was worth. Every coin I had was in a protective case. Not only did he remove them all from the cases and touch them, he tossed them around like they were nothing. These belonged to a very much loved deceased family member. He then told me he would pay $ 14 a coin. We went directly to another dealer. We have more than $ 20,000 with of coins. This place is dirty, unprofessional, and obviously lacks the necessary knowledge needed to assess anyone’s coins!

Stopped by to see if they could help figure out what a found coin was. All I knew was that it was old and Haitian. Was told spending more than 5 minutes trying to figure out what a coin is is a waste of time and that what I had was a kind of interesting coin but probably not worth anything. A coin directory was recommended from the library, however. I left wondering whose time he thought I was wasting and why they, a COIN Shop, did not have a directory. Turns out the coin was minted in 1817 and is probably worth more than $ 25.

I can’t speak to the previous reviewers experience; I was buying not selling. From my point of view, this is a great old fashioned coin and stamp store. It’s a little scruffy, but I actually like that. The people I dealt with(I’m assuming one of the owners) were cheerful and helpful. They pointed me to what I was looking for and then left me alone until I had a question, and for collectors that’s perfect. The prices I saw on the coins I know about were perfectly in line. I will certainly come here again.

When it comes to precious metals, my son is no dummy. However, every time he’s tried to deal with L&L, he has been treated as though he were a chump. A reputable coin/metals dealer will at the very least acknowledge current spot price, and will quite often display current spot. L&L has feigned ignorance of the going rate or flat out fabricated a going rate. I’ve been in enough coin shops to know that they are seldom Martha-clean, but this place is a stye! I can’t think of any reason that anyone would need or want to do business with L&L.
