Owner Mark’s a good guy. Great store, great prices!

I love this old man. He will watch you try each pair out and will tell you what is «IN» these days. He will also tell you if it doesn’t look good on your face haha. Very inexpensive. Five stars for customer service!

I’m somewhat of a eyeglass snob, owning a collection of pairs to match what I’m wearing. I just tested Mark’s Optical on a new pair of specs for my teenager. I’m completely impressed with the selection of frames(at a very good price), cost of lenses(with Transitions) and the speed in which they turned the whole order around… in about 4 working days. I will definitely return to Mark’s(probably soon) to feed my own eyeglass addiction with a few new fun pairs. I’m glad to have read previous reviews of Mark’s and gave them a whirl.

What a wonderful experience. Mark took the time to really get it right and at a more then fair price. First he wanted to use my old frames.(What a concept, not looking for the upsale, but taking care of his customer) My old frames simply were not right for my new prescription(progressives) So he brought out a nice frame that would work and quite reasonable too. The whole thing new lens, frames out the door was half of what Kaiser wanted for a similar frame and lenses. And even cheaper then Costco. I am sending everyone I know here when they need glasses.

If you want a salesperson to kiss your ass and agree on everything, this is not for you, but if you want a good pair of glasses for a reasonable price you came to the right place, I have been Mark’s customer for 12 years and he always took good care of me.

After a really horrid experience at optical masters I found this delightful shop just around the corner. Small, owner operated, trustworthy, and no more expensive then the big box stores maybe even cheeper. For a small shop he has a large impressive collection to choose from. I have recommended Mark to friends who are as happy with him, and their glasses, as I am. Looking for eyewear in the south east area, don’t pass up on this gem of a find.

Ok, so having been in Denver for a while, there seems to be a local tradition of how to run a business. You greet people energetically when they come in, then proceed to ignore them as much as possible. When, at length, you have to talk with them, you pretend that whatever they choose for lunch is the second coming of Christ despite knowing for a fact that it’s been sitting out for a week because you can’t even get the raccoons to eat it– because the customer is always right to his face, even if you tell your buddy what the moron at table 4 just ordered as soon as you get behind the swinging doors. This is not what you’ll find at Mark’s. If you want a timid yes-man who’ll endorse whatever monstrosity you put on your face, go somewhere else. Mark is a rare find in Denver outside of Colfax– a real person running a business like one. If he thinks those glasses look awful on you, he’ll say it. He’ll offer unsolicited advice on which lenses, which frames, and whether your prescription is correct. He will not try to jolly you up. What he will do is sell you a damn fine pair of glasses at an extremely good price. Having been hounded, at the last place I tried, into buying the anti-reflective coating(which scraped off piecemeal within a month and turned into a $ 70 set of perma-scratches on my lenses), I was leery of any extras on this pair. And Mark was cool. No upsell. Just an awesome frame at a great price. I find people in business in Denver have a tendency to retreat behind a bland veneer when dealing with customers. It’s refreshing to deal with someone who treats you like your friends would– no promos, no cheats, no add-ons, just an honest opinion and an honest price from someone who isn’t guaranteed to laugh at all of your jokes. Very impressive. I will be back.

Mark is now my go-to guy in the department of eyewear. Came in here based on Taj’s review and not much else(but the location was convenient) and left a damn satisfied customer. After telling Mark I was vaguely certain of the shape and color of frames I wanted he sat me down and found about eight that I may be interested in. After going through them and narrowing it down to two he shot straight with me on what’s going to look best on me. The frames were perfect. And my face has more odd angles than Ebbets Field. Tremendous job on Mark’s behalf and at a cost that was incredibly reasonable!

It’s been a year and a half … I’m on my way back to pick up a new pair of glasses from Mark’s. I like the ones I got before, but while I was there to get a new prescription, I browsed the frames. The $ 200 Prada frames made for a nice Italian movie director look, but the $ 59 Harvie Bernard’s do it just as well. Since my new prescription is really close to my old one, Mark suggested I only start with the new pair and compare it to the old pair. If it’s really better, THEN I can redo the old lenses … or just save some money. Clearly we have a man who would rather you come back than make the annoying«upsell.» — — - Previous Review: Good selection. Great prices! Tucked into an old shopping center next to Denver’s Old Hole Sports Grill, you will find Mark’s Optical. Seventy percent of Mark’s clientele come from the Russian enclave in which it sites; the prices and selection match the cost-conscious Euro-style of the community. Mark is personable, experienced, and willing to help you find the right pair of eyeglasses. Aside from a few frames I found in the triple digits, almost every frame was either $ 49 or $ 59. Lenses are an additional $ 29. And remember, there is no sales tax on glasses in Colorado, so that’s your final price. I’ve put off getting new glasses for half a decade, mainly because I couldn’t find a frame that came close to my old pair. Those Armani plastic frames were perfect, and impossible to match. Anytime I ever came close to finding the right frame, I was looking at paying ~225 for the frame, plus lenses. At Mark’s Optical, I found the glasses I want for $ 88 including lenses. Sold!
