I placed an order in on December 13, paying for expedited shipping, wanting to have two types of cheeses delivered for Christmas eve. Tuesday the 22nd of December, I called for shipment tracking and information. Not once did I get a call or email in regards to my order, with zero follow up from Mondo Market. As I call today(December 24th), taking to Michael(the owner), his excuse for not getting my order(cheese) on time, was to blame the shipper for changing the shipping policy. Michael then told me, they realized the mistake and shipped another order, both to be here Saturday(the day after Christmas). The first order will have been on the road for eight days, the second quicker, but still too late. When a company says satisfaction guaranteed, they do not stand behind it. They just make excuses and point blame. I know I’m one out of eight thousand customers, but I’m one customer who won’t be back, because I lost confidence, not in the product, but because of lack of follow up or the guaranteed satisfaction. Thank you for letting me slip through the cracks with zero follow up or satisfaction.

A few weeks ago I ordered a piece of dry cured meat(pork) from Mondo Foods by way of the Internet. The price that was listed on their webpage was the lowest that I was able to find. They even offered free shipping and handling on my piece. I fell for it and I placed my order. My cured meat arrived a few days later and I was very pleased until I opened the package. The dry cured meat was very dry to the point I was unable to slice it with a knife. I mean super dry like a piece of rubber sole. I also noticed that one third of that piece was covered with white mold spores. The next day I called them and reported the mold. The clerk informed me that this is normal and that I should wipe out the mold with a dry cloth and it would be perfectly safe to consume. Really? Rather than take a health risk, I disposed of the dry cured meat in the trash. I blame myself for NOT reading the reviews here and not heeding by the advice«it is too good to be true.» I will never order from this company again!

Overall, don’t waste your time nor money here. I’ve broken it down for you why I say this. Groceries: very random items, and unless you want to pay double or triple their costs, don’t even bother. Just go to World Market or Whole Foods. Seriously, their prices are even much lower. Deli Meats & Cheeses: see comments above… nothing out of the ordinary here. Sandwiches: Way, way overpriced and mediocre at best. Bread is pretty good, but that’s about it. I’m not trying to bash this place, but I just spent $ 20 for two sandwiches that neither of us felt they were remotely worth half the price.

Love the concept of this small market, but have been totally disappointed! Had a similar experience to another reviewer. Was going to buy some cheese but they were expired and moldy. Pointed it out to a clerk and he said that«it would probably be okay to eat if you scraped all the mold off». Why would I spend $ 15 on moldy cheese that you couldn’t eat!

Solid, delicious sandwiches, great choices, fair price. The service was professional and kind. Can’t wait to take others here. We took our sandwiches over to Crooked Stave — perfect pairing.

Oh man. This place is awesome — one of the best sandwiches that I’ve had was made here. Get the Rosa & Robiola and thank me later.

Whoa. Yeah, I’m going old school Joey Lawrence here. Mondo Market is quite fantastic, my friend and I stumbled upon this gem while checking out the Source and I can’t wait to come back. The guys here are awesome-knowledgable, friendly and funny-what more can you ask for? They have an array of fun, exotic to me cheese, olives and other yummies. Oddly enough I walked away with a balsamic poultry rub and had to stop myself from buying all of their spices(I would have never guessed a primarily cheese place to have great spices). Can’t wait to come back and try their sandwiches!

EXPIREDPRODUCT: I’m so bummed to share about my experience buying packaged Spanish pastries from Mondo Market. I bought them on January 15th, to gift them on my trip back to California. I got them safely there to find an expiration date of December 26th. When I returned to Mondo Market to buy a sandwich, I mentioned the bummer, and showed the store clerk the same product still sitting on the shelf with the same expiration date now on February 9th! Her response was«oh, I’m sure they’re fine. Those dates are put on overseas so they can come to America.» I’m sorry… What? What does that have to do with clearly expired product? And how is your response not«oh no! Let me get that product swapped out, and let me get you product you can actually consume?»

Seriously delectable cheese plates. They seem pricey, but the quality and quantity of food you get is more than worth it. My friends and I let them pick four cheeses for us, and we had a good mixture of creamy, hard, stinky, etc. All of the cheeses were really good, and they were served with varying accompaniments to make everything even more exciting. They’ll make the cheese plate for you, and then deliver it to the different bars in the Source, so you can grab a drink while waiting. I will definitely be back!

Want to visit again and try all the delicious meats, cheeses, and condiments that will make your mouth water. I ordered their excellent roast beef sandwich, which was simple yet delicious. Mondo Market should also benefit from it’s cool location at The Source in RINO. Hope this place survives and thrives!

I’ve wondered in here a few times while browsing the Source, but this was the first time I purchased anything. I noticed the guanciale right as my girlfriend noticed the black garlic. Both were deemed good buys so we proceeded to do so. They made a fanciful lunch earlier. As someone pursuing guanciale wherever I can find it, I do have some notes. Their guanciale supposedly comes from Italy. I say«suppose so» because the guy didn’t seem too confident about its origin. It’s grease nearly soaked through the brown paper it was wrapped in. It smelled great, cooked greasy, and tasted salty. It was good, but overly salty for my taste. At $ 11.99/lb, it’s a deal, but there’s some trade-off even if it might be from Italy.

Yum, yum and yum. Love the cheese samples and the caprese wrap is delicious. Expect to pay $ 8 – 9 for your sandwich and they even throw in a tiny taste of cheese to go.

2013 seems to be the year for new«farm to table» concepts in both restaurants and markets and Mondo Market at the Source is on that same track. It’s part of the exceptional concept at the Source and it’s arrival is what makes them the place to be in 2014! Mondo at first glance has that same LES feel, mixed with a little Pike Place and Oxbow Market in Napa. It’s small but open and it ticks my boxes for this new type of market that prides itself in great small quantity vendors that whatever you select you know you’re getting the very best they can produce. We arrived to meet our posse and choose to «nosh» at Mondo with a cheese and charcuterie plate that was selected by the owner and that was a huge bonus. We’ve found in our travels that if you ask them, they will send an outstanding representation of what they are all about and 9 times of 10 you’ll be in a palate coma. We ended up excellent cheese and one specific stood out as it had black truffles throughout, not a microscopic spec but a noticeable pieces and let me tell you it was special. It was not overpowering but subtle and that’s what made that cheese extraordinary. The salami were exceptional once again small producers, I’m telling you it really reminded me of NYC. They also feature products made in Colorado and that makes me really happy, Here’s what you should do; just go over and let them work their palate magic for you, tell them what you like or what want to make for dinner and let them figure it out i don’t think you’ll be disappointed

I did end up buying a delicious and spicy jelly made by 2 Colorado ladies here. I was very disappointed when I first went in to look around. The girl behind the counter never looked up from her work and that ticked me off. This is a new place be nice and friendly or for sure you will loose customers. I only went back because I bought my father a wonderful pastry at the bakery and he wanted coffee to go with his sweet dessert. The coffee shop is not yet open so I tried the market once again. This time there was a friendly guy who was very helpful and nice. I tried the jelly I bought. It was nice and spicy and 10.00. I am always trying these sauces because over cream cheese they make a great appetizer. Anyway I hope they survive because the whole concept of this market and restaurant area at the Source is great. Just a note to those there be nice that will make for return customers.

I met the fellas that run this place at the epicurean market the previous spring and was waiting with baited breath for them to have their store front at The Source and it has finally happened. We popped in after dinner to grab some snacks for a pic-nic the next day. We found some cajun flavored salami and they helped us pick some cheese that went with it and was knowledgeable enough to help us have a cheese that would stand up to being out of the fridge for the time at the park They have meats, cheeses, spices, sauces, olives and more! Not the cheapest place, but it is closest to home!
