A-Ok for lunch– Good lunch specials, the usual suspects, served piping hot and FAST.

I was very disappointed with my first experience with Moongate. I got the tofu with peanut sauce and the tofu with garlic sauce delivered. The tofu with peanut sauce was decent, but a bit lacking in flavor. The tofu with garlic sauce was bad. It was about 75% peppers with only about four small pieces of tofu, so not at all what I was expecting or what I wanted. What little tofu there was was undercooked. And the garlic sauce wasn’t very good; kind of a weird sweet and sour sauce. On the plus side, the delivery was very quick — about 15 minutes.

Most of the dishes have the same brown sauce; typical«American Chinese» restaurant. The service is also mediocre at best. The waiters/waitresses are rude.

What a disappointment! Working on 10 year old memories of excellence in Asian takeout, we ordered with great anticipation of yummy food. Chicken tempura was four parts tasteless crust to one part stringy chicken, Crab Rangoon appetizers were likewise tasteless. sesame scallops were soggy little things in a sea of sauce. Sometimes, I guess, you can’t go back.

Delivery = Two Thumbs Down Normally on a Saturday night, I try to get a restaurant the benefit of the doubt. When we called, they sounded busy in the background, but after we ordered they stated the delivery should be there in 45 minutes to an hour. An hour and a half later, my girlfriend called them and was hung up on twice. When she finally did get somebody on the phone, we were told that the delivery person had left, and our meal should be at our location any minute. After two hours and 10 minutes, my girlfriend called back, and was met with indifference by the individual on the other line. He stated«we’re really busy tonight». Trying to justify over an hours worth of delay. He also stated that he would give us a 20% discount on our meal, and offer that was never honored. Finally after two hours and 15 minutes, a delivery driver showed up at our front door with cold food, and the taste was average at best. I will never order delivery from this location again, and it is highly unlikely I will ever patron this place. On the bright side, they did give us three fortune cookies when only two of us were eating! My fortune: You will buy some great real estate this year. I’m excited to see that fortune come to fruition.

I ate here for many years as it is delicious and very close to where we live. Went in one day to pick up a order that we placed and saw some cock roaches crawling across the front counter! I walked right out and never went back because if they have them in the dinning room you know they have them in the kitchen. Nope I’m good on that

I was a little nervous about trying this place at first but it was in route to my daughter’s work and I wanted to be able to place an on line order and pick it up quickly. To both of our delight, the food was actually really good and fresh. We each had the Basil Shrimp from the lunch menu. Everything was very fresh tasting. The shrimp didn’t have any kind of smell or fishy taste. They were plump decent sized shrimp too. The egg rolls were crunchy and flavorful. There’s not much for quick lunch options near my daughters work so I was super pleased this worked out and will order again when I’m able to slip away and have lunch with my daughter. Oh yeah… the prices are amazingly affordable too. We paid $ 7.25 for our lunch shrimp dish. The chicken lunch dishes ran around $ 6.50. You can’t even get a fast food meal for that price and this was much better!

totally hit or miss is right. Just picked up an order to go and it is horrible. Pad See Lew and they maybe put two pieces of broccoli in it, nothing else, no seasoning. They simply don’t care. Move on to another spot, there are too many other good ones in the area.

I love their sesame shrimp, plus they give you lots of shrimp for a great price. We come here at least once a week. The place is quiet and they let you choose where you want to sit.

This is pretty much the only Chinese restaurant that is edible and close enough to deliver to my house, so congratulations Moon Gate. Drunken Noodles, excellent, 2 Points off for not having Chicken Rice Soup. Plus 1 point for having Basil Fried Rice and also Veg fried Spring Rolls. We ordered so much food one time it was like whoa hey guys we just ordered a lot of food. We had it delivered because one winter out of the Rust Belt and everyone turned into a pansy.

Unfortunately ordered literally the worst curry i’ve ever had. The panang. The«broth» both tasted and looked like watered down mayo. I chose tofu as the protein(assumed the meat would be sketchy. Glad i didnt even put a single bite of meat from this place in my mouth) tofu’s texture was horrible… Both soggy and tough. We ordered our food to be delivered and the man taking the order was highly highly incompetent. It took my friend no joke 10 minutes on the phone to place the order. The reason they receive 2 stars is because they were 1) very fast and 2) the mochi was delicious.(Obviously bought from somewhere else though) overall — bad. Go to tommys thai instead

Skip this place. The veggies were stale, chicken was rubbery, salty and the service wasn’t good at all :/The portion sizes are good but I honestly didn’t want to eat it so it was a waste of food and money. Very unfortunate!

It’s hit or miss here on the menu items I have tried. Their delivery service has always been reasonable in timing and food correct & hot. Portions are good for the price. Beef & Broccoli — really NOT good here Pad Thai — This was listed on one online order site as their popular item and people mention it here as a fan favorite but I found it to be NOT good. It was slimy and bland. Probably one of the least appealing Pad Thai’s I have ever had. :( Shumai — GOOD! I get it steamed. You get 6 pieces for about $ 5 when other places charge more for less. Miso — GOOD! Moon Harbor — GOOD! Satay Beef — GOOD!

I LOVE this place! The food here is always good and fresh tasting. I’ve tried Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese here. My favorites are the pad Thai and green curry chicken. So delicious! The place is clean and usually quiet. The service is great and the prices are very affordable. I know that this place delivers and I’ve heard good things about that. Sadly, I don’t live in the area but I don’t mind making the trip out there to get food!

Pretty decent Asian food if you are looking for some lower cost delivery. I’ve tried several of the«Chinese food» places in the area and keep throwing out the menus for the others. General tso chicken is a good meal. Yes I’ve had better but someone rated it a 1 star below and it’s not a 1 star just depends how u like it done. The shrimp in lobster sauce was good as well just how I like it and the appetizers are about the same as any other typical Chinese joint appetizers. I wouldn’t list this place as a must have if ur in Denver for a day or two, but if you live in the metro area it is the best place for Asian quick delivery that I have found!

Unfortunately we were stuck with delivery as our only option and had to try a new place. We just moved into our first home and decided to order from a closer Chinese place, our usual place doesn’t deliver to our new home. The women who answered the phone was rushing me with my order repeating it back very fast and not giving me time to finish. The food arrived In about 40 minutes and missing some of the order. The sweet and sour pork was extremely dry and Tso chicken was not Appetizing at all. Very disappointed in this place and won’t be ordering from here again. To add to that I ordered egg rolls and those we’re also extremely over cooked and dry. Bad experience.

From reading the previouis reviews, folks seem to either love or hate this place. Well, here is the skinny: To me, this place is absolutely great. I love their food. It is not a fancy joint by far, but if you are craving for good ol Chinese food for a descent price, this is it. Thai Fried Rice: Great oversized curry fried rice w/bountiful pineapple and shrimp. This is a MUSTTRY. Sprinkle some siracha sauce, and the aroma alone brought me back to Chao Phraya river cruise in Thailand. Ok, so that’s not fair — praising a thai dish in a chinese restaurant. So I did order another dish: Little Moon Shrimp. The menu description is «Shrimp with sliced ginger, green onioin, and egg over bok choy w/fried shrimp.» It’s battered shrimp served w/fried egg, stir fry bokchoy, and green onion. The whiff alone was enough to droll over. Crunchy shrimp w/Fried Egg, who wouldve thought?! Love it! ANOTHERMUSTTRY! So that’s 2 out of 2 for me. I have been here few times, but it is so hard to try another dish, as I kept ordering my favorite two over and over again. I did have a chance to bring up some of the bad reviews and the health issue posted on Unilocal to the main owner. He was very sincere and apologetic. He admitted some growing pain and past issues which the family have been trying their best to amend. Well folks, taking in consideration of the bad reviews and my own experience, I would say Moongate deserves another look, moreover, it has great potential to be one of the top spot in the area. 5 out of 5 from this guy!

When I’m visiting my friends in Stapleton, we frequently order from this restaurant. While I would overall give the food and delivery service a solid 3 stars, they really knocked it out of park last night so I’m bumping them up to four stars. We normally get chicken fried rice, crab rangoons, dumplings, and lo me in which as I mentioned before is always passable but nothing special. Last night we mixed it up a little and got the basil fried rice and Thai curry noodles. My friend said the curry noodles were one of the best things she’d ever eaten! My basil fried rice was also really really good and the jalapeños gave it a nice kick without being overly spicy. What really amazed me though was the quality of our staple appetizers last night — the egg rolls, wontons, and dumplings were all FANTASTIC. This lead us to think there may have been some recent changes to the kitchen staff — what a difference. Also, delivery was super, super fast. Can’t wait to order in again next week!
