My parents go crazy for all of the Chihuly glass sculptures this gallery has — the collection really is impressive. If you have $ 36,000 lying around you can take a small one home with you. Aside from the Chihuly sculptures, the gallery also sells paintings, furniture from local artisans(also in the $$$$ range) and a variety of knickknacks and small stuff like ornaments that are much more affordable.

Chihuly. No, I didn’t sneeze, that is the name of one of the most famous glass blowers and you can see his work as well as other incredible artist’s’s, inside the awesome gallery of Pismo in Cherry Creek. Don’t be intimidated as the store stands tall above you, just don’t enter the store with your new huge Jessica Simpson bag. Pismo is like taking a tour of a small museum… The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and they can tell you anything about the piece and about the artist. The store is not pretentious, regardless of how fancy it looks, and the staff never push sales on you. The gallery sells glass pieces as well as furniture, paintings and even hand blown glass jewelry… which is a real treat if I do say so myself(And some not nearly as expensive as the standing pieces). Pismo also puts on great events… There next one coming up is all about glass beads, I would imagine that this would be a prime location to rub some shoulders or do some flirting… Come on, you are never required to buy anything! * Blown glass star one is for beautiful work by world-renowned, as well as local artists ** Delicate star two is for beautiful art with forbidden mysteries(I just thought it would be fun to say) *** Score star three is for free parking right next to the store **** Hot hot hot star four is for great lighting for the art, but not good for my skin The final star was burned due to well, high prices that I just can’t afford… yet!
