Quick service food that arguably fits into a healthy diet. And I’m not saying that in the way McDonalds would say it about their salads – it actually is food. You can tell what is going into the finished product. The ingredient quality appears to be high. The flavors are worthy of about 3 stars, but who really cares when you can freely spray Sriracha and Cholula all over everything anyway!?! I’m giving this place a lot of bonus points just for fitting into a fast casual healthy niche’ without being overly deceitful. But when a lot of restaurants will try to sell you a «healthy salad» with 500 calories of croutons, I think it’s worth commending.

I’ve never written a review before. And while the food tasted pretty good, my backyard BBQ protein bowl portion size was insulting. $ 10 for the smallest, unfulfilling meal I’ve ever had. There needed to be twice the amount of food in this«bowl»(more like a cup). Disappointed

An interesting concept. Healthy wraps, bowls, and salads, packed with protein such as quinoa, tofu, or chicken. I stopped by here for a light dinner. 2 stars — Spinach & Pesto Bowl with tofu. Sounded like a good combo of my favorite things. This bowl had their organic quinoa blend mixed with spinach, basil pesto, and parmesan. The tofu was cut up into small mini pieces. The pesto was mixed in well with the quinoa and was not oily like some pestos can be. The flavor was good, but it was too salty for my taste. I couldn’t finish it because of that. I think more quinoa or spinach would have helped. 3 stars — Quick preparation of my food, but it took awhile for them to acknowledge me and take my order at first. Just two people working the front service line when I was there. Overall, I don’t think I’d come back. The flavor combinations are well thought out, but the execution was not up to par. Sometimes healthy food gets the bad reputation that it can be flavorless. But here, they do the opposite and my tastebuds just couldn’t take the added salt.

The employees were rude and didn’t know what they served. Ordered the Thai coconut soup which turned out to be a Thai bowl which was quinoa with a spoonful of sauce. Definitely overpriced. Wanted something healthy with protein this is not the answer. Would not recommend this place!

The food isn’t super flavorful, but still enjoyable. I’m a vegetarian and really love places that take into account that we like choices too! It’s kind of disappointing that they nickel and dime you. The prices are pretty inflated for a faster-food type place. I just got a quinoa bowl and cup of soup– nearly $ 15. That’s just not reasonable for me to make this a regular place to visit for lunch.

Fast food for the health conscious. Bowls, salads or sammies, mostly chicken but veg friendly options. Pretty much anything can be made vegan on request by subbing the animal protein with tofu. I had the vegan salad with chickpeas and diced grilled tofu. The dressing was a bit too creamy for my taste, but overall an affordable and filling lunch that made me feel nourished.

Vegan heaven! This has become my to-go place to pick up lunch when I go into the office. The superfood vegan salad is my favorite, you don’t even need dressing on it.

Any place with both a Cholula and a Sriracha dispensable pump has a vote in my book, and that vote is A+. Everything I have tried at this place is great, and it fills me up throughout the day. I will admit… I like to eat. A lot. I know it, and I can’t stop it. It’s a hard life to live, and I understand. So when I walked in here and ordered a protein bowl… I looked at that tiny little yogurt cup of crap and said to myself, «This is it?» Because I missed the whole point of PROTEIN Bar. It is food that fills you up and keeps your full throughout the day. Okay, that makes sense. I am becoming a fan of quinoa, and I dig it. Tiny portions that somehow fill me up without overeating. I can’t ask for more. My favorite thing here is the Spinach Chicken Pesto bowl. Quinoa, chicken, spinach, pesto, and parmesan. Then I smother it in the aforementioned Cholula and/or Sriacha. Yum, The lines can get a bit long at lunch time and the layout of the restaurant is a bit odd, but it gets the job done. Damn, I love pesto. And it’s healthy? Score. If only I had a gym membership to work out this protein that is inside me.

Entirely forgettable, overpriced, medium sized(or small by Chipotle standards) and lukewarm breakfast burrito @$ 8.80. Was charged extra for plain, bland-not even sea salted-avocado and they forgot to add it. Retrieved after I was halfway through and minus avo. The tortilla was so thin the burrito was falling apart before I could eat it. Happy I wasn’t in the car, super messy. I do have to say bravo to them for trying-so nice to see healthier options becoming more available. Note to owners — -healthy doesn’t have to equal zero flavor! This place would probably do well at the airport but then there is the messy bit so maybe not. If you took it to the plane it would be disintegrated before takeoff. Wait I have an idea – how about using standard tortillas for pennies more? I really wanted to like this place but there is more. I was the only customer and the manager person was busy with a game on his phone – and yelling out plays and/or names at the top of his lungs. Repeatedly. For over 30 mins. Then started singing at same volume. No joke. Appetite successfully vanished. If the food is memorable I will put up with a lot but will probably skip this place next time.

Really love the feel, the presentation, and the menu selection at this place as they promote healthy ingredients and wholesome choices. Ordered the guac n roll with chicken, avocado, their 6 healthy greens with a vinaigrette and wow the ingredients create the perfect insides to be wrapped inside the whole wheat tortilla. For a burrito, I felt satisfied and full without the extreme food coma coming on before going back to work. They also had an amazing selection of protein smoothies and cookies and I wish I got a chance to try out more!

I am wholly, and woefully, unimpressed by my first meal at Protein Bar. My original«bar“rito with avocado was $ 9.70, and literally tasted like the mashup of healthy stuff I used to make in massive quantities and eat for a week, because it was healthy, when I was living on a $ 15/wk food budget. The chicken was chopped up so small that it had zero pleasant flavor to it and a texture reminiscent of canned chicken that has dried out from being open in the refrigerator for a week. Quinoa was the heavy player in the flavor profile. .. but with a backup of black beans, salsa, avocado, cheddar, and chicken the flavor should not have had to be bland; the texture did not have to be impossibly dry and crumbly. What as disappointment. There are enough healthy AND tasty options available within walking distance of the office buildings downtown — I’d recommend that you try one of them.

Surprised and impressedd, not only are the breakfast burritos tasty, but they offer nutritional info for each item so know what macros are going into it. They have fun and clever signs, like«if looks could kale» as well as healthy drink options. Certainly my new spot when I want to get that protein!

Finally a place that plays hip hop music without feeling like others would be offended. This place is upbeat and has style. I love the idea of delicious, healthy food being served downtown. I give this place 5-stars and plan on coming back often!

This place is great. They have awesome blended drinks and some great raw juices. Their salads and«bar-ritos» are great too. It’s one of the few options to eat healthy on the 16th street mall and they taste great too.

Had a great«protein bowl.» Buffalo chicken, quinoa, vegan blue«cheese» dressing, cucumber, celery and carrots. The protein bowls come in a fro yo sized cup. Honestly delicious food. Kinda high prices for what you get but I understand the coolness factor of tasty paleo healthy food. I really genuinely like when restaurants put their calories up for you to see, when you’re in the mood to see of course(please don’t tell me how many calories are in my green chilli cream cheese burger with cheesy fries at Cherry Cricket. Thanks). I’ve heard this place is INSANELY packed at lunch on a week day. Not worth a long wait but generally good vibe and food. They are only open till 8 on weekdays(not 9 like it says here) and don’t worry: the impatient high schoolers working behind the counter who wanna get in each other’s cars/pants will not hesitate to tell you they are closing earlier than you thought. We’ve all been there, amiright?

Someone give me a quarter, I promised my mother I’d call her when I fell in love! Finally, a restaurant on the 16th Street Mall that doesn’t leave me with feelings of regret. The food is delish and the protein shakes are awesome. They even have vegan options.
