Love everything about this venue. Been to 2 shows and a 3rd on the calendar. The food upstairs is pretty decent, service is good and friendly. Same for everything down in the venue. Clean place, good crowds, intimate shows for a great price and the fact that you have table service during shows is awesome. Acoustics are spot-on and they don’t crank it up so loud you can’t hear yourself think. Everything about my experiences so far have been outstanding.

We booked the Soiled Dove Underground for our daughter’s wedding reception. We spent the last year working with the event coordinators in preparation, they were informative, friendly and everything they promised was fulfilled. The reception was beautiful and well organized. The staff was amazing and they took care of every detail. Our guests raved about the wait staff and bartenders. It is nice as a parent to attend an event like this and actually enjoy yourself. The guests had a great time and the only disappointment was that it had to come to an end.

Really nice little theater. The seats are comfortable and there’s not a bad sight line in the place. It’s small enough to seem intimate but not too small so that it feels cramped. The sound system is good and so is the service. The best seats are along the rail in the front of the upper section.

Absolutely gorgeous venue without a bad seat in the house. There’s a lower-level«general admission» section for those who want to be close to the stage, and the rest is either bar or tabled seating. The drinks were great, the food was delicious(I highly recommend the spinach and artichoke dip), and the service was bar-none. The sound quality was also spot-on; the opening act was completely acoustic and the headliner had a full band, and both sounded crisp and clear. Also important: bathrooms. They were clean and wonderful. Sorry y’all, I just can’t deal with dive-bar bathrooms for very long. It’s also nice that this venue isn’t in downtown Denver; parking was a breeze and traffic was light. The parking lot is a bit small, but there’s overflow parking next to the grocery store. By far, this is my favorite concert venue in Denver. I WILL be back!

My friend and I attended a musical at this venue yesterday and were very satisfied with the space! The staff were friendly and we had a great time. The food upstairs was pretty generic, though.

Truly my favorite music venue in Denver for a «listening room» experience. The staff are so courteous and helpful. The food they serve is better than average bar food. Drinks a reasonably priced. I always look forward to attending events here!

I went to see Spyro Gyra last night which was truly an amazing show. The bonus is the venue. The Soiled Dove is great because it’s such an intimate venue that even in «the cheap seats» you’re not out in left field needing binoculars. I can’t comment on the food because I’ve never ordered any while at The Soiled Dove but the drinks are priced on par with other entertainment venues. The servers can be a tad annoying during the event but you just kinda need to roll with it. Just be warned they need to walk around a lot in tight spaces so you’re instinct may be to get pissy but try and resist the urge, it’s not their fault. Parking isn’t a problem either because you have plenty of options nearby if the lot surrounding the restaurant and venue is full. If you’ve never attended an event here, give it a shot. I doubt you’ll be disappointed!

I have been to the Soiled Dove at least 7 times and each time it has been variable with a few exceptions. The sound is of course at the mercy of the mixer and I have heard it perfect and at other times very muddy… variable. The service is consistently SLOW, in my latest two visits including last evening with Tom Russell I ordered two nibbles the crunchy rib lets(excellent food) and humus 18 minutes before the scheduled start of the show with the place less than 1⁄3 full. I waited and waited and after a full 55 minutes later the food arrived. The service of drinks while a bit quicker but was also slow. Red wine at 7:50 a glass and bottled beer at a whopping 8:50 a 12oz bottle… YES that is not a misprint. Will I continue to attend… I’m not sure, perhaps only a show a year if the performer is my absolute favorite. I like to sip a cocktail or a beer during the show but at those prices I will reconsider. This is by-far the highest price I have ever paid for a 12oz bottle of beer especially one served up slowly. AW

Awesome. Intimate. A bargain. Go. Ok so I have to write more. We saw a Beatles knockoff group here early Feb and it was so much fun. But this is about the venue not the band so — great intimate seating, not a bad seat in the house. And such a bargain. Great wait staff, they were very attentive all through the show without being intrusive. You’ve got Towne Tavern upstairs for great food and drink before and after the show. Plenty of parking. Great booze at reasonable prices. Go. For this price, go hear some band like we did you feel a little iffy about — you’re not paying a fortune, you can experiment and have a great time.

Came to this venue for a work event. Good location, wish the tables were larger so we could sit larger groups together. Instead the tiny tables could barely fit the large plates provided in the buffet making it a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise liked the venue with it different tiers making the room appear much roomier than it really was.

My husband and I ventured to Lowry after winning tickets to a show here recently. We’d been to the old location downtown, but never to this one. I didn’t realize that it was going to be all seating(for those able to get a seat). It reminded me of a comedy club set-up. We wound up having to stand in back, which was fine with us. The bartenders were friendly and quick. Yes, the beers are a little pricier but definitely not outrageous. Great acoustics in here for sure. I would go back if there was a band I really wanted to see. Also, I didn’t mind the 90 minute set, which means I’m old.

I’m kinda torn on the rating here. I’d really say 2 ½ stars. Went for our anniversary. Reserved seats great. I agree with the others that there is no bad seat in the house. Service was good and the drink had some huevos. Can’t comment on the food, although I did notice most people didn’t eat. My gripe is the length of the show. ~ 90MINUTES. Really? Our babysitter even asked why were home so early. We saw Nick Colionne kast night. He did a good show(a little too much pandering to the audience). When the show ended, I checked the time. I couldn’t believe it. Maybe it’s an intermission? Nope everyone is packing up at 940 pm I would think the owners would want a longer show. Alcohol is very profitable. Maybe this short show is not the norm, but at $ 30 a tik, the babysitter should not be surprised when I get home.

Fortunate to see Dave Mason there last month. Great venue for a show and there can’t be a bad seat in the house as it holds only 127 people. The wait staff was all over it making sure no one had an empty glass. Did not get a chance to try the food but I will definitely go back to see other shows. The only downside is that they have moved this venue from downtown to god awful Lowry in Aurora.

I give this place a half-hearted thumb’s up due to several factors. While the ticket prices for most events are reasonable, the location itself for some bizarre, illogical reason that only the slovenly owners must know, the food quality is very poor. Food I’ve ordered was literally dripping with enough grease to fill a cup and enough to make me feel sick to my stomach. Drinks are over-priced and watered down, parking is very tight, if available at all, with no valet parking available(hey, it’s Denver, what’s valet parking?) and wait staff comes around when(and if) they doggone well feel like it. But why is the menu so small when the Soiled Dover Underground is literally«under» an actual restaurant and bar? Why is the food at the Soiled Dove like something that would slide out of a donkey’s rectum, while the food at the actual restaurant above ground seems to be fine? It makes no sense whatsoever, but maybe offering the same menu as the restaurant directly above it would be confusing or simply too much work to fulfill. There is a «dance floor» but it is very small and cramped and if there are any bouncers or security staff of any kind, they must be the same 21 year olds manning the cash register and mopping up the toilets, so if nonsense breaks out(as it can at clubs and bars and other assorted party venues), you need to be fast with the feet and fists and ready to roll solo. Musical acts seem pretty good, sound quality loud enough to burst the eardrums of the most seasoned pot-head concert goer with ease, and that’s about it. No specials, no discount ticket drives, no ongoing memberships available. So the parent corporate entity that apparently owns the Soiled Dove is fine with its current revenue model and not interested in offering memberships, discounts, or anything else that might encourage more people to come more regularly. Tough toenails. Improve the food so that it’s moderately edible, maybe add a pool table where the useless table with pictures above it is(that no one uses for any purpose), add one or two valet/security guys, and voila! presto chango you have a much nicer dive.

I get a chance to come here and see a group perform, twice a year… and always wonder why I do not come more often. Its downstairs, in an intimate Al Capone like setting. No bad seat to see and even talk to the performers. Service is good, setting is dark, private tables, and awesome. Food is good, and of traditional bar-style…the jalepeno cheese dip was great. Last night, we were spoiled with AuNaturalAlice(105.9 fm) bringing in Matt Nathanson, mary Lambert, Oh Honey, and Jillette Johnston. I probably butchered the spelling of all their names… but they rocked an essentially accoustical set. Awesome!

Quality acts. Really great sound quality, and pretty good mixing. Free and plentiful parking. Comfortable seating(except along the back wall, where the A/C can freeze you out in a heartbeat). So-so table service, but still acceptable. Decent drinks for very reasonable club prices. Check this place out. It is one-of-a-kind in Denver.

I am a fan of the underground. I have seen 2 shows. Boney James was amazing. The sound was awesome. The venue is small but offers great sound. Service was very good. The interior is very plush and comfortable. The second show — Hazel Millers Jazzy Christmas was a disappointment. I a m reviewing the venue not the band. We sat at a table along the wall. The air vents kept cycling on and off. It made it a cold night. The sound was mediocre. This may have been the bands equipment or music style. It was billed as a Jazzy Christmas. There was very little Jazzy music. The musicians were good. The singers were good. But the music was Gospel music with a Christmas music tilt. Not that I am against it. It just was not what I went for or what was advertised. They have a good beer menu with a full bar. For a venue there prices are reasonable.

Cute venue, great stage. I saw the acapella group FACE here, and they really lit up the small stage. Bigger bands should bond with their fans elsewhere, but this larger small venue with intimate but not crowded seating strikes a harmonious chord for smaller bands and casual comedians. They service was expectedly a little slow considering the servers had to weave through tables without interrupting the show, but we got all our drinks within a very reasonable amount of time. And I know this is neither the time nor the place to praise the FACE, but if every who plays at Soiled Dove is this good, I just might start camping out here.

I have been here a few times for shows, it’s a pretty good spot for live music. I came here one time with several family members to see Paul Thorn, and we sat on the ledge overlooking the pit. It was a good spot for the show, we could see the stage and the band well and the sound was clear. The other times I have been here I’ve simply stood in the pit. The place itself is pretty small and intimate and makes for a good experience. Last night my uncle and I came to see Roger Clyne. If you’re familiar with him, you know how much he interacts with the audience, so this is a very good setting for his shows. The downsides of the Dove are 1) The seating, Nothing is comfortable at all to spend a significant amount of time in, one of the reasons I prefer to stand. 2) The price of drinks. $ 13 for two standard pours of beer is a bit much, especially when they are brought in plastic cups and combined with slow service. This is a decent spot to see live music, and it’s close to several places for a good bite to eat before.
