Do not, as I did, make a pilgrimage to try this place. My husband and I had dinner there recently, and while the waitress was great, everything else was sub par. The ribs were definitely not the best in Denver. They appeared to have been steamed or braised rather than smoked. The mac n’ cheese might have been good if it had been hot enough. The only thing that was good was the seared cauliflower which was outstanding. And to top it off, the atmosphere was just terrible. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. It’s scruffy and someone who sounded like the owner/manager of the bar that the restaurant is in was sitting at the bar dropping loud f-bombs. Just not a pleasant dining experience for someone who seeks out the best barbecue in Denver.

I’ve had the pulled brisket and pulled pork sandwiches for lunch, both are really great. Recently, I ordered the combo platter with mac and cheese, sautéed baby spinach, fried corn bread, using Grubhub. Everything was really great with a good smoke and real down home flavors with the sides. They were out of ribs, which make sense since I order an hour before they close, but they doubled up on both the pork and brisket, no complaints here. Grubhub delivered in about 20 mins, which is much faster than estimated. I was very pleased with my delivery experience over all.

This place is a joke. Took a chance ordering online, got the nachos and house salad. Nachos consisted of 10 soggy«house made» Doritos drenched in queso with a couple of jalapeño slices… That’s it… $ 7. House salad consists of wilted romaine tossed in shredded cheddar cheese(the kind you buy in a bag at Kroger) with 3 bland croutons. Also $ 7. Feel as though I’ve just been robbed. With all the great BBQ options in town, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I ordered a combo BBQ platter using Grubhub, which was $ 18. I also ordered a side of mac and cheese($ 3), a side of baked beans($ 3), and a side of cornbread(another $ 3) When the order arrived, I was SEVERELY disappointed in the sides. Each of the sides was in a little container with only about small, half a cup worth of stuff. I don’t like the idea of paying $ 3 for only a couple of spoonfuls worth of a side. On top of that, the Mac and Cheese was very bland, and the baked beans weren’t cooked well enough. I basically paid close to $ 40(after delivery fee, tax, and tip) for a meal that was barely enough food for one person. I feel ripped off. For what it’s worth, the BBQ meat was quite tasty, though. I would be willing to give the restaurant another try if they ever fix their portion sizes(or lower the prices to something that more reasonably reflects the portions they give).

This place is awesome for many reasons. Tracy serves as friendly knowledgeable and efficient waitress. The BBQ is best I’ve had in long time. The deep fried corn bread is a must have. It’s less than a mile from Coors Stadium but well worth it. Highly recommend for food and value.

I tell you what, my hands have literally been shaking for some decent BBQ out here. In fact, I have been let down enough that I fly to Atlanta about 1−2X a month just to get my fix. When I scrolled through on Unilocal and saw the mouth watering pictures of the food at this place, I thought Atlanta might have some competition. My roommate was sleeping, and I knew he would be hungry when he woke up, so I decided to get some BBQ delivered to us via GrubHub. I ordered two of the exact same things– the Kraken sandwich– which at $ 15 a sandwich, I figured should satisfy not only our hunger, but our BBQ needs(my roommate hails from Northern Mississippi, so he is familiar with good ‘cue as well). The Kraken consists of pork, brisket, mac and cheese, fries, cole slaw, and bbq sauce. It also comes with a side. So I decided for both of us, to get us the fried cornbread. It just sounded unhealthy and amazing. After tip, tax, and charges, the total came to $ 41. It asked for any special delivery options/cross streets. I put to come to the 19th street entrance– where it is calmer, and away from traffic. About 20 or so minutes later, I get a call from the delivery guy, I told him I was on his way down. I went down, and of course, no one was there. So I walked around the corner, and saw a guy with a bag of food. I asked him if he was Grub Hub, he said yes. I took the bag and started walking. Then I looked down and realized I have somebody’s food– but it sure as hell wasn’t mine. I turned around then saw a guy with another bag of food, and we traded off. So I still don’t even know who the hell my delivery guy was. I also noticed the bag looked kind of skimp. Well, it was. When I got upstairs, I noticed only one sandwich. That shit aggravated me so much– especially after reading what happened to another Unilocaler with their order and missing food. The food was OK– but I think I was so pissed I didn’t get to enjoy it as much. The cornbread, was something special though. I think what annoys me the most is when you order food online, everything is right in front of you. You can’t say you messed up a food order because you took a phone order and couldn’t understand the person. I mean this had 2 specific things– the amount of food ordered, and where to go, and they still couldn’t seem to get it right. That in my book, is no Bueno. Looks like the trips to Atlanta will continue for BBQ… sigh…

Great food. Had the brisket sandwich and the portobello sandwich. Couldn’t get enough. The jalapeños made it unique and tastey. A neat place to stumble on. Ignore the low ratings; it’s not representative of how good it is.

BBQ chicken sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had! I ordered the chicken sandwich and a spinach salad on grubhub and they called me to tell me they ran out of spinach. Not only did they not charge me for the salad but they took 50% off of the sandwich. A live band was in the back doing sound check and it was absurdly loud but apparently this isn’t typical.

I’m hoping I just got a bad batch of food since all the other reviews are so good… I was so disappointed :(I just got this delivered via GrubHub. I had the pulled pork sandwich. The meat was extremely dry and tasted a little old. The bun tasted stale and so overly buttered. I got quite a few sides as well: the baked beans were so tangy, the potato salad had yellow mustard just squirted on top(both tasted a little old), and the cornbread was just crumbles and also stale. I also ordered the $ 5 key lime brulee. This was pretty much the most awful thing I’ve ever had. I don’t even know how to describe how bad it was. I spent a fair amount of money on this meal, and was really excited to have BBQ delivered… so sad. I won’t be ordering from this place again.

I ordered the BBQ platter. Very disappointed. I should of ordered the cracken. It wasnt a lot of food. The ribs look nothing like the pictures. Mine were literally 3 inches long. Put your thumb and index finger around a beer bottle and thats how long my ribs were. It also came with the pulled pork and pulled brisket. Both were really flavorless. It had been way overcooked. There were a few pieces of bark in the pulled brisket that tasted delicious. There were some interesting components in the pulled pork but you couldn’t taste them because it had been cooked down to mush or it wasnt fresh. The potato salad was good and an ample portion. The mac & cheese was good but came in a mini-ramekin sized cup. Personally, when i go eat bbq, im throwing caution to the wind and looking for larger portions. When i want to go eat salad, im trying to lose weight and not looking for large portions. Was it worth $ 18, ummmmm, no. Also the atmosphere sucked. There was a band warming up and they were playing really loud. Sons of Scullery — i believe it! The food tasted dead.

We ordered delivery last night and it came faster then expected which was nice. But it looked as if it had been shaken up before reaching us, both the containers were slightly dented too! The food was just okay. We had the pulled pork sandwich and the brisket sandwich. They were both dry and sorta flavorless which was disappointing. The cornbread was yummy and I would order just that next time. It was pricy too for the food quality we received– don’t think we will order again.

I had the roasted chicken with polenta and fries. I am not a huge fan of BBQ but everything I tried(I had to dig into all of my friends plates) was AMAZING! I was truly surprised and not disappointed. I will definitely be back!

AVOIDTHISPLACE. The food… what I got to taste of it… was delicious. The one star is because we placed an order with them. A large order. They forgot to make one of the orders, which we didn’t discover until we got back to the office. We contacted them and they refused to refund the order that they didn’t make. Any reputable business would refund the cost of the missing meal OR do something else to make it right.

I got take out from their new location at 1523 Market. Wow, was the food good! I got the pulled pork sandwich, mac and cheese, and the traditional corn bread. None of them were run of the mill. Very delicious. I will definitely be back.

Went here for a little pre concert grub since it is within walking distance to pepsi center. When I got there the place was empty inquiring if they were even open. They were! The waiter /bartender was awesome. They only have bottled beer no tap and their happy hour is just okay. But the food makes up for it. Love the portobello sandwiches and the fries. So I will be back for the food and the good service but if I’m looking for a happy hour deals in downtown probably end up somewhere else.

Great service. The BBQ isn’t as good as I want it to be, but I haven’t found that anywhere in Colorado. Definitely good for Downtown options, Jabos on Arapahoe is probably my favorite in the metro area if that tells you my taste at all.

Delicious food — everything we ordered was well received by the family! Though that brings me to my next point — this is not really a family type restaurant. The chef and staff are extremely friendly and outgoing, but the atmosphere is tailored more towards the bar and club scene. We wouldn’t hang out there again as a family, but I can see younger singles and dates ending up there. As I stated earlier, the food is delicious, but I have to agree with another reviewer — the portions are relatively small for the price you pay. In all, we purchased $ 40 worth of food for a family of four, and we all walked out with room left in our bellies; and we are a fit family that typically does not eat large portions. Pro’s: delicious, well-crafted food Con’s: atmosphere and price

Found this food cart on Unilocal and got the deal they were offering. I spent $ 10 for 2 huge sandwiches + sides! Very delicious BBQ and the guy grilling/serving us was very nice.

This place is great. I had seen it yesterday, was on the hunt for something tasty today and after having read a couple reviews decided to try it. The guy that was working(Adam) was super friendly. These guys have been open on the mall for just a few months but seems like they have their sh*t down. The brisket was delicious, seriously. And the coleslaw and pickled jalapeño whatever it was was fantastic as a topping. The potato salad was pretty mustardy, just wasn’t my cup of tea but I won’t knock them for that. I would say the only downfall(and reason why I can’t give them all 5 stars) is that the sandwich and side was $ 10. That is pretty pricey for food cart fare and no waiter/seating/etc. Being that they are new to the block, maybe the prices will adjust after the initial start up costs have been covered. They did say that they will deliver to the offices around downtown which I do love because sometimes you just cant get away. I will definitely be back to this place
