Stopped in here on a whim the other day with my mom to grab some tacos, and because I love tacos(and will try to fit as many in my stomach as I can manage), I ordered three: the grilled fish, the Cajun fish, and the shrimp. I ate the shrimp taco first, and it was definitely my favorite. The shrimp itself had this flavorful, herb-y glaze that struck just the right balance with the sweet and crunchy cabbage. Next, I had the grilled fish taco, which also pretty good, but nothing overwhelmingly great. Both tacos had this green sauce on top that was pretty tasty and fresh tasting(I’m pretty sure it was some combination of avocado and sour cream and spices, but I could be wrong – I tried to find out exactly what it was, but everything just says«green sauce»). Once I was done enjoying the shrimp and grilled fish, I moved on to the Cajun and was met with instant disappointment. I normally love Cajun-flavored things, but this tasted like it was being used to cover up something rank. Maybe it was the spices themselves, maybe it was the piece of fish, but after just one bite, I put it down and didn’t bother picking it back up. Service was decent, the place was clean, and there was plenty of seating. Best of all, though, it was super fast, so perfect for a quick lunch during the workday.

Yum– I loved the cilantro fish tacos, and the chips are thin just the way I like them coated with the perfect amount of sauce — get guacamole to go with those chips. Fast, good food right on downtown Denver. Perfect healthy place for a quick lunch. The line can be a little long but it goes fast.

I love Wahoos! Think Chipotle, but better + fish! Whatever you get, smother it with green sauce, or at the very least order it on the side. You won’t regret it. Also, get a margarita or two. They are strong and delicious and two will leave you feeling good, real good.

I’ve been to this Wahoo’s 2 – 3 times & every time has been super good. If you’ve never been to Wahoo’s I would describe it as fresh food at a decent price. They have black beans or white spicy pinto beans. Generous portions of white rice and really tasty steak, fish, shrimp or chicken to choose from and combine how ever you like. This location has never been super packed and is pretty roomy with a couple flat screens for watching sports as well as a small bar and beers if you want. I’m glad there’s one just a few blocks from my house for when I’m craving a little piece of home(aka So Cal).

If you want seriously bland food, weak margaritas and poor service, go here. If you want food with some real flavor go around the corner to Illegal Petes. I’ve given Wahoos too many chances. Always a bleeding disappointment. Never again!

does it matter where they are california or here the food is always good and the atmoshpere is laid back cali fun. The one I used to go abck in cali is jsut as good as here. you can’t beat tacos pescado on a hot summer day with a cool pacifico. This place is unique and should be treasured(as much as one can treasure a beach bum taco stand like place if denver had beaches).

I rarely give 5 stars to fast food joints, but this one I love! I love Wahoo’s they never go wrong. I recommend the Shrimp Plate, The Baja Rolls(don’t forget the cream cheese and cilantro dipping sauce), The Grilled Wahoo Fish Plate and finally their Kids Chicken Bowl. Amazing!!! The white cilantro lime rice is sooo good too!!! Whom I kidding its the Cilantro Sauce(Green Sauce) that makes everything taste good. Chips and Salsa are tasty too. The new management in this location is superb! He re-trained his employees well. Everyone has been more catering and approachable. Every visit, I’m never disappointed. Wahoo’s on Blake is ultra fantabuloso!!!

Superb, fresh and great service. So very fairly priced, too. My bowl of grilled firsh with black beans and rice with a side of vegetables was out of this world. What a treat to find somewhere so fresh and delicious so close to my job. Als, it’s immaculate in here!

A friend of mine introduced me to Wahoo’s as it is a half a block from my office. She suggested the blackened fish taco’s. I have never had fish taco’s and was very excited to give em a try. Got the fish taco’s with beans and brown rice. They were great. Perfect balance of heat and flavor with the fish with cabbage, a little lime juice with mild tomato salsa. The accompanying brown rice was nice and nutty. This will be on my list of many downtown places for lunch. Wish I could’ve had one of their Margarita’s with lunch… too bad I was working… LOL. Maybe next time…

We loved this place on our Saturday night visit. My fish tacos were excellent. Huge amount of fish that was moist and tender. The pico de gallo was spicy and excellent, loved it. Rice was perfectly cooked. Black beans were tasty and again perfectly cooked. The wife got fish enchiladas and they were perfect. The portions are HUGE! I could not finish my meal. Luckily the wife got drunk and ate my food which she does when she is tipsy. So I keep her drunk all the time.(Disclaimer: For those who know me and my wife, I am kidding.) And the prices are cheap. We got a bucket of premium label brews for $ 13 and had ourselves a time! The service was very warm and friendly. The worst thing one can say is that it is located right next door to Rio Grande(or something like that) which is a chain that, according to reviews, serves mediocre food and bad margaritas but for some reason is ridiculously busy. So people, wake up and go to the underdog where the food is way better and the service much warmer. Would return in a heartbeat next time I am in Denver. And we are from Texas so we know Mexican.

This place is a hit or miss. I have been here several times, usually when the lines at other places around noon are too long, and I still feel indifferent. I usually order a blackened Chicken quesadilla. Sometimes it tastes good, other times it doesn’t. It just depends on how many people are there I guess. Again, the guacomole is also hit or miss. Sometimes it taste fresh, other times it taste very watery. Note: the stuff here is much higher in calories then Chipotle. You can think you are ordering healthy, when really a Chicken burrito bowl or the like is over 1500 calories. All in all, Wahoo Fish Taco wouldn’t be my first choice for lunch in LoDo.

Tacos awesome; beer selection(for Denver) is woeful. Denver is the beer capitol of the universe. Gotta do better, guys! Unilocalers, if you’re here for the food alone, you’ll probably be happy.

I had the two taco combo plate. For one– that’s a lot of food. You don’t think it’ll be a lot of food, but oh man, its a lot. I ordered a Cajun fish taco and a grilled fish taco. I preferred the grilled over the cajun – the cajun spices weren’t the greatest – but the grilled was oh so perfect. Light, tender and juicy! The side of rice and beans could have fed a small village. They were giant mounds on my plate. All that for less than $ 7. I call that a deal. Is this mouth watering fatty goodness? No. But if you’re looking for a fresh, healthy meal that even makes you feel somewhat healthy while eating it – this is the place.

I like the fresh ingredients, and the healthy choices. This is good fast food and tasty too. What I don’t like is the slacker snotty cashiers I oft encounter here. They should be wearing a «I’d rather be skiing» T-Shirt. My first trip to Colorado I stopped here and was smirked at when I didn’t know what a «wet burrito» is. I“m from Seattle, ask me what a wet latte is and I got it covered. Today I felt like a major imposition to the gum chewing college soph who took my order and grumbled when I asked where the soda machine was. But, all in all the chain is OK and it beats eating a McAnything.

2 blackened fish tacos, a side of ahi rice and spicy cajun white beans later. if Wahoo’s had an eating contest I would sign up in a split second. These are great fish tacos. The best part is, they’re either grilled or blackened and served on warm corn tortillas with spicy pico de gallo, red salsa, and shredded cabbage. You can even mix it up and have 1 of every kind of filling you want on the same platter, from meat to seafood, they even have a vegetarian option! It wasn’t 10 minutes after ordering before a hot plate arrived in front of me, smelling fresh, looking delicious. Or was it smelling delicious and looking fresh? Mouth watering, healthy food under $ 7 a plate and in 10 minutes? Either way I win! The interior is clean, sanitary, and full of bumper stickers. Sometimes, especially during midwestern winters, it feels nice to pretend the sound of cars passing by on 20th are crashing waves, you’re at the beach, a skateboard is resting underneath your feet, and you’re in the company of good friends. It’s been 3 days since my last visit and I cannot wait to go back to try a shrimp burrito! I’ve been searching up and down Federal and etc. for a shrimp burrito in Colorado for 2 years!

I’ve been going to wahoo’s for a while now and I am throwing a charity event so I want to ask and see if one of my top choices for food would want to do anything to help out. I specifically asked for maybe a gift card for 5 or 10 bucks or anything would help since all the proceeds are benefiting cancer and the manager acted like i was asking for the entire GD restaurant. He was short and rude. I understand if you can’t help that’s ok. The way this guy refused was just rude. «I cant do anything for ya» in a very rude tone. At least when i got shot down at other places they were very polite about it. It really sucks because the food is great and I really dig wahoo’s… Shitty way to lose a customer people. you get more than one star because of the food and simply that.

I got the fish tacos, just wish there was a little less lettuce/cabbage. The staff was very friendly and seem happy. This place is decorated in all skater gear, so there are many many bumper stickers plastered all over the wall.

The Superb: Awesome teriyaki. The meat had the perfect amount of char. The staff was extremely nice. The Average: Not a lot of flavor in the beans or rice, but after all, it IS beans and rice, so I wasn’t expecting much! My beer was a bit flat. Not sure what that was about. The Horrid: Sticky tables. Oh how I hate that. Overall, I would definitely go back. Especially at lunch time!

Went here to lunch with some office buddies during the middle of the week, as one of them had been here before. After hearing the name of the place and seeing the menu for the first time I assumed it was going to be a variation of Chipotle. Nope. Since it was my first time in the restaurant I asked the guy taking my order what was good. His english was either poor or he just didn’t feel like helping me. After suggesting one thing I said OK. Then he proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions about what I wanted on it. None of these options did he mention cost extra. I think I ended up spending $ 14 on a single dish… I’m still not sure to this day how that happened. As I was staring at my receipt I figured at least it’d be good and I’d know better next time. Nope. The food was mediocre. Worse still was that the table we sat at was completely sticky. Not a wet sticky, but like somebody had spilled beer or soda and just neglected to clean it up. What was even better was that it wasn’t just our table, but the table next to ours as well. I made a game of pressing my $ 14 receipt into the table and *peeling* it off while I waited for my food. I’d avoid it.
